  1. Presenting the Skeletal Guard Captain (He has a name but I can't find it) from the game Warhammer Quest:- Cursed City by Games Workshop. Rather pleased with this one, particularly his cape! As always any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  2. If there's one thing I love painting, it's skeletons! I think these designs by Mantic Games are probably my favorite: they have a great deal of character, (for skeletons), the sculpted details are pretty crisp for the most part, and they offer a fair amount of customizability. These all came off of one sprue that I got in a sort of "undead sampler" pack. I know there's at least one other skeleton sprue out there...I may have to track it down at some point. I went for a very dark, desaturated look throughout the squad. I wanted them to look like they've just emerged from the muddy earth onto a rain-soaked battlefield (this also informed my decision to go heavy with the rust effects). Anyway, these guys really came to life as characters while I was painting them. I couldn't resist making up some little bios (to be honest, I got a little carried away). Enjoy! A formidable squad of mercenaries in life, the Damned Company's relentless love of carnage and war led them to develop many powerful enemies. One such enemy was a fiendish wizard skilled in the dark arts. This wizard placed a powerful curse on the Company...a curse which has condemned them to continue fighting other people's wars even centuries after the members of the Damned Company shuffled off this mortal coil. Now, the Company's skills can be purchased by any necromancer brave enough to call them forth. Anyone looking to "hire" the Damned Company should be aware that they still require payment for their services. But they no longer crave gold. The form of payment that the Damned Company now demands is truly enough to chill a man to his very soul... Captain Roderick: Commander Captain Roderick is the proud commander of the Damned Company. He possesses the three most important qualities of leadership: 1) a mind for military strategy, 2) the ability to inspire his troops, and 3) a helmet with a really fancy feather sticking out of it. Contessa: Contessa is the lone female member of the Damned Company. In life, she would often use her beauty to lure opponents into a false sense of security before she butchered them with her sickle. As a skeleton, she tends to skip right to the sickle violence. Marcus: Once a proud soldier serving a noble king, a series of misfortunes and bad decisions led Marcus to the less-illustrious life of fighting in a mercenary band. He resented his role in the Damned Company in life...being stuck with them for an eternity in death hasn't done much to improve his outlook. Louis: Easily the most blood-thirsty member of the Damned Company, Louis is always ready to enthusiastically skewer opponents with his spear. It's usually best to just point him toward the enemy and let him do what he does best. Christoph: Nicknamed "The Screaming Star" in life, Christoph is certainly a fearsome fighter who has earned his role as the Company's second-in-command. However, his fighting prowess is equalled by his ambition and tendency toward treachery. Christoph is always on the lookout for an opportunity to wrestle away command of the Damned Company for himself. Howard: Howard is the jokester of the group...always pushing the boundaries of humor. Unfortunately for him, his "axe in the head" routine was never as much of a hit with his fellow mercenaries as he thought it would be. George: George's preference for solitude led to many nights of guard duty in life. His alleged preference for sleeping while on guard duty probably led to many of the Damned Company becoming skeletons earlier than planned. Change is often slow to come, however. Even in death, George still pulls more than his fair share of guard duty. Stanley: Stanley is a capable soldier with the annoying habit of shouting "hammer time" after each vanquished opponent. In life, he also had an odd preference for wearing extremely oversized pants. No one understood it then, and no one understands it now. Karl: Karl is the lumbering powerhouse of the group - always willing to confidently wade head-first into battle. He was also the first member of the Company to actually be killed in battle. There's probably some sort of lesson to be learned from that... Horace: Despite being well-liked by the rest of the group, Horace is often regarded as the forgotten member of the Damned Company (on the rare occasions when anyone bothers to regard him at all). Sandoval: Sandoval is an accomplished soldier. However, he is also chronically late. Whenever the Damned Company is called forth from the depths of hell, it's not uncommon for Sandoval to be absent at first. No worries, though...he always shows up eventually (usually at the most opportune time). Lobo: In life, Lobo served as the team's scout and mascot. He has much the same role in death. But, for obvious reasons, he's now less-enthusiastic about chewing on bones.
  3. I've always loved the sculpt of this model. It captures a real sense of movement, which is something I'm always impressed by. I painted it up using color shift paint. Basically, it looks green from one angle and takes a goodish tint from other angles (it's hard to capture the effect in still images, obviously). Overall, I think it came out looking okay. Thoughts and criticism welcomed.
  4. I got this Etsy banshee as a gift and she's a really good one. I had it mind to make it like one of those horror movies where they use B&W overlays for the ghost, sometimes with a bluish tinge. Close enough 😄 The other bones at her feet were from a different vendor and I just painted on a faux dungeon floor for her to pop out of. She actually had really nice claws, but she's so extremely brittle they just snapped off as I was cleaning her up. Watch out for those Etsy models. They seem to be super fragile and not as good for regular play like Bones. Still not sure about the eyes though they stand out as intended. I may go back and tinker with that later. Tips, hints, critiques, it's all good 🙂
  5. Finally painted up this guy on his throne! He's been waiting to be painted up for quite a long time. Paint scheme too involved to remember because I mixed a lot of the paints, but I used a lot of Army Painter Speed Paints and some Citadel Contrast Paints, especially for the throne. But the entire throne started out as a gray with light gray drybrush, same as you can still see on the base of it, before applying various mixes of paints/washes on its surfaces/details. The sword blade is a black base with Army Painter "D&D Mithral Silver" on it, and the runes drybrushed white. Then I gave it a coat of the Citadel "Coelia Greenshade" wash(which is blue). I like the effect that gave. Quite a while back I did some work on it, first removing the character("Dragoth") from his throne, and then adding magnets to his butt and his throne. So I can both use the throne and him separately from each other. (This mini is also available with two other heads: One that's human/vampire, and one that's with a helmet on.)

  7. Hi folks! It's been a while since I last posted here. Here is a Reaper mini that I painted to be the main and final antagonist in a egyptian Frostgrave campaign inspired by The Thaw of the Lich Lord. The undead queen awaits in her temple of doooom!

  9. A Reaper Wraith from Bones V WIP HERE: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79298-children-of-the-night-by-glitterwolf/ Finally got my mojo back and finished a mini again. *********** The one we all like to avoid, but in the end, he'll be there. Oh look, see how the sand has fallen? It's time, don't be afraid, it'll be quick, he's quite handy with that scythe, then again he had centuries to practice.. **************
  10. Kid is super obsessed with "Scary Flying Shark" and zombies so I'm doing thr next best thing and painting the zombie shark. This is by necessity a quick paint. Started with priming last night
  11. Hi all! These minis were close enough in theme I thought I'd post them together. First up: Demi-lich This simple but effective demilich was completed during a two hour speedpaint on Saturday and then touched up briefly on Sunday morning when I had better light. It isn't perfect (I'm sure I missed a bone or two), but I really like the end result quite a lot; a worthy addition to the collection. These guys are really an understated evil. I'm sure they are so lethal because unlike virtually everything else in D&D they dont telegraph how nasty they are. "Tiny floating skull, big deal" -ZAP! Speaking of tiny floating skulls: Flameskull swarm! I needed a flameskull for LMoP and I naturally went completely overboard. I realize that a swarm of flameskulls this size would be absolutely devastating to nearly any unprepared party. Perfect! FYI I had to scale the files down quite a bit (these are mounted on 15mm, 20mm and 30mm bases), but they are pretty sturdy. I realize going with a standard fire palate on them isn't "canon," but I wanted them to look hot & fiery, and I was already planning on painting the demilich above and I didn't want them to be too similar in style.
  12. Hey everyone, I'm still painting decorative elements for future D&D sessions. Here is a 77722, Sealed Sarcophagus sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. Pretty sure something ancient or someone evil is trapped in this sarcophagus. Sometimes certain things should not be disturbed.
  13. 3dprinted Draugr Warrior on my Elegoo Mars: Design - Draugr Warrior -Artisan Guild Design-Base-Txarli Factory Part of my Undead Project https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/79298-children-of-the-night-by-glitterwolf/page/27/#comments ******************* In the cold North, falling in battle doesn't always mean eternal rest. You could find yourself rising from the snow, still covered in blood from both your enemies and you, a strange voice in your head just gives you a command and you have no choice but to follow the orders. You stumble forward, raising your sword, you try to understand the situation but can't think straight, then you get a view of the enemy, the order is clear and you move forwards hacking the enemy to pieces, it's a shame though that they're your former friends, somehow you no longer care. ********************
  14. Painted up some scatter terrain to go with the Undead Army. All printed on my Elegoo Mars. PrintYourMonsters - Cannibal Feast Branches 3x, Ancient Cannibal Stone. 16. Hi all! How do you do? Here are three egyptian skeletons from Otherworld Miniatures. They serve as basic enemies for my egyptian fantasy adventures.
  17. Helo All, Here is a 77725Sandkings "Mummy" I completed earlier this year. Thank you for looking.
  18. Just some bulk skeletons...nothing special. The spears were pretty bent when I got them. I worked with them a little to straighten them out, but figured I wouldn't spend too much time driving myself crazy (these were cheapies, after all 🙂). The detail on these guys is fairly soft, but they get the job done on the table. Sorry for the quality on the group shot. Wide shots aren't my camera phone's specialty.
  19. 3D Printed on my Elegoo Mars Design: Great Grimoire - Shaman Design of the base: Asgard Rising - Conifere Base added some leaves. And every year, she plays along, holding him off for a short while and then agrees to be his girl, forever and ever. *********************
  21. Hello All, Here is a recent work. "Male Revenant" 77301. I did change out the head. I removed the original head and replaced it with a skull. The skull was pinned in place. When I first saw the miniature, it made me think of the old Scooby Doo cartoon villains. So, I painted the skull to look like it is glowing a bit with glowing pinpoint eyes. Thank you for looking.
  22. Hello All, Here is a Bones USA 07034 "Grave Wraith" I completed last week. Thank you for looking.
  23. Hello All, Here is a "Dust King and Crypt" miniature set I completed a few weeks ago. Thank you for looking.
