  1. King Jurgen Heyerdal. I'm a little disappointed in how this came out. It's one of the first Reaper minis that I owned but never got around to painting until now. I'm not sure where it went wrong. Maybe nothing is wrong with it and I just complain to much. What do you think?
  2. Trying to get back into the groove after a vacation with a Hasslefree Miniature: Ulfred. I'm quite happy with the result. I think he looks like a badass :)
  3. I recently started watching the series "Vikings" and love the idea of shield maidens. Of course, the only thing that could make a shield maiden cooler is to have shield maiden who's a Halfling :=) I went for leather armor with chain mail pieces across the...chest areas...and hanging from the waistline. I also did thin lines to show that the shield is made of separate planks of wood. Since taking these pictures, I've made her feet slightly larger (because she's a Halfling after all) and I redid her right thumb. Comments, critiques, and kudos always welcome!
  4. So here I am, playing a point and click adventure game from Artifex Mundi on my Kindle, ("Deadly Puzzles: Toymaker"), and someone familiar popped up in the background: http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/viking/latest/03385 I think they overestimated the size of the Bryangles, though.
  5. So finished this piece up recently and gave it as a gift to some friends. It was really fun to paint one of these figures, first time I've done one of these larger figures which provide an easy and detailed surface to work with!
  6. The girl next door requested a dragon for her birthday, after she saw me give one to somebody else. I really hate giving away miniatures, because I feel my painting is not good enough for displaying to random people. But.. What can you do? :P Soo.. I figured I'd give it a go. Been working on these two on and off since yesterday evening: Based one black, the other white: The Valkyrie stood very low, so I sculpted a stand for her with a cork and some Fimo: Didn't fit perfectly with the ridges, but I think I can get away with it as a whole: And this is just abo
  7. Painted this for a friends' birthday. The miniature is going to be part of a small diorama, fending off a dragon.
  8. My take on Bones Aina, Painted last year. I tried a freehand on the shield supposed to look like a seaserpent thingy. EDIT : took some better pics.
  9. Not fantasy stuff this week but part of a batch of Rus/Viking Warriors I am painting up with the Saga miniatures rules in mind. The flag comes from the same company that mad the miniatures (Gripping Beast) though I probably could have found one for free on the net if I had bothered to look (its made out of paper).
  10. This is Ragnar Lothbrok from Gripping Beast Miniatures and he's a perfect illustration of why my unpainted pile is flooding over the brim. I bought the figure the second week of january this year and he's been left semi painted for half a year. So, in my everlasting quest to convert my unpainted pile into a full color army I finally willed myself into finishing him. There are some areas that I should have done better (due to sloth the blacklining is to aggressive for example) but all and all I'm quite happy with how he turned out.
  11. My quickest turnaround from purchase to finished yet! Recieved the order this monday and completed it yesterday. I've painted this up as the miniature for a friends character in an upcoming DnD campaign. Quite pleased with the result and I kind of want to create a character of my own and use this to represent him...
  12. I've finally been able to make a small dent on my pile of unpainted Red Box Games miniatures. RGB are by far my favorites but at the same time I'm kind of intimidated by the detail so when it comes time to paint I pick up a miniature from another brand. But once in a while I do finish one, and yesterday was one of those times. I finished the miniature Ragnar of Utherby and I'm quite pleased with the result.
  13. After dragons and some orcs & goblins, I tried my hand at Aina. Painting the face was quite difficult (especially the eyes) but I do notice that practice makes better. I do wish I had a better detail brush (and maybe a more steady hand)...
  14. I recently finished this speed paint for a friend to use as his character in an upcoming D&D game our group will be playing. I really enjoyed painting him and experimenting with colors :) C&C Welcome and appreciated!! :D
