  1. One more from my Undead Regiment, http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/60959-undead-regiment-in-a-swamp-mixed-manufacturers/ The Barbarian Zombie, Made by Grenadier.
  2. Two more of the horde, These were made by the now deceased Harlequin company. Again the snake and purple / red colours. Swamp based, water effects are Vallejo Still Water. Enjoy.
  3. Another regiment from the Horde From The North. This time with a Hero on a snow leopard. Again early work. IRL better shadows, bad camera work. Another repost of my work, hope I don't bore you all.
  4. Hi, I haven't painted or even posted here for the last few years and just recently picked up the brush again. This is an old mini by Grenadier (I think), finished in my usual get-it-off-my-desk-quality. Was still fun to paint, though! So here's some old Grenadier goodness for you. Enjoy!
  5. Next year's Reapercon will have a retro sci fi theme. I thought I'd start a thread to gather helpful and useful tips and hints for costuming ideas. Here's something (mildly edited) I posted on the 2014 Reapercon Cosplay thread: I was in Jo-Ann fabrics earlier today and found something cool and sci fi looking. It's metallic-look flexible mesh tubing, about 8mm in diameter, intended for flower arranging (I gather you loop it around, or something, with the flowers). It's super flexible and super lightweight and comes in 20 yard packages for about five bucks. It comes in various meta
  6. FIGURE...Grenadier (Brain Absorber # 2012)...circa (1983)...(Subterranean Terrors Box Set).
  7. FIGURE...Grenadier (Lamia # 5004N - Tomb Of Spells Set)...circa (1980). I have to say, in defense of my limited miniature figure painting ability (which is greatly inferior to the abilities/talents of many that I share this forum with)...this is one of the poorest and crudest figure castings produced/released by Grenadier during the era of (1978-1981)...the worst part of this casting (for those who are familiar with the piece) is the/her face (which looks like she was in a train wreck)! But with all the faults; I love this figure...her pose suggests complete peace and tranquility...rel
  8. FIGURE...Grenadier (Cave Fisher #2012D - Dwellers of the Deep Set)...circa (1980) NOTE...In all my years of fantasy gaming, I have never used this creature in an encounter of any kind for/with any of my adventure groups.
  9. I am in the process of painting (for game play) some older figures (vintage, if you will) from yesteryear. I love painting these older figures...for some reason, I feel that they have a certain character to them that for some reason is lacking in a lot of the modern era figures/castings. Posted here are the following miniatures; PHOTOS 1-4...Ral Parth (Giant Skeleton # 02-940) circa 1985... PHOTOS 5-6...Grenadier (Death Lord # 150) circa 1986... PHOTOS 7-10...Alternate Armies (Chicol The One Legged # CM19) circa 1992... PHOTOS 11-14...Grenadier (Beholder # 104) circa 1984...
  10. This is another one of my older fantasy figures that I just finished. I tried to keep the look of both the figure and the base very bland, barren & bleached. I executed the skin color of the mummy (the way I would envision it)...a grayish rotting green flesh with corpse maggots in the eye & mouth (but executed in a dull dark aged feel, look and manner)...did the same with the cloth wrap...I hope that you feel I succeeded in my attempt. FIGURE...Grenadier (Mummy Lord) # 512...circa 1986...
  11. So, I was looking around Iron Wind Metals, the place which sells old Ral Partha sculpts. I'm getting interested in the history of minis, and I was curious to see if I could find Tom Meier's original "Ral Partha, evil wizard," which was almost their first mini. I am inclined to believe Iron Wind when they say it's this, since they ought to know. He's pretty lively looking, and is lunging with a sword in front and a staff behind, not bad at all for the timeperiod (what, around 1975?). Trouble is, some people out on the internet name this fella as the original Ral Partha. He's a lit
