  1. One of two I recently finished. A favorite oldie I just gotten around to painting, I've always luv Klocke's old work.
  2. Here she is from my wip thread.....yep a DROW......
  3. On her I wanted to see how far I could lighten my drow skin with it still looking like a drow, don't know if I succeeded or not. I do know I picked the wrong model think yea alot of skin showing but after I did the skin and took a look at the armor I was at a complete lost on how to proceed.
  4. Don't say it.... Drow, ugh.
  5. This one I just finished this morning...u guessed it.... a drow.
  6. My waste paint receptacle for my ogre squad. Nothing special or exciting but he's done too. probably his best side here. This side no so much. I don't know think he translated into bones as well as some of the others like the ogres. But then, he's just a mook so who cares. Oops! Looks like I hurt his feelings. He'll feel better when he's amongst his metal brethren. He has a much better base than they do.
  7. So here they are. The Ogre Squad. You can see the WIP here. I love how nonchalant and casual this guy looks. especially when compared to this guy. The oldest of my ogres. Metal and unfinished for years because I was just never happy with him. another angry ogre fond of the face(s) on this guy and also the pig. The rope on the barrel was a little frustrating though. It had a mold line right down its length and even though I wasn't doing much line cleaning for these guys that was both a hard one to fix and a hard one to
  8. This is a Patrick Keith sculpt from the Warlord range and I have loved it since it came out years ago. She would be a really cool player character, I don't know why we don't see her more often. Great dynamic movement with this one. Anyway, I threw some color on her, so maybe she'll end up on the table one day.
  9. So, a few questions: Mercenaries. There was a post about how if we take so many mercenaries we will lose our faction benifits? is that true? if so, where do I find the limits and who can go in what force? Going to a shop with plentiful reaper next wed and want to have a shopping list in hand for what I can use in my necropolis and crusader forces. SO, we can have: 0/1 warlord 1/3 captains(assuming no duplicates with UNQ?) ?/? sgts? So after that, elites as many as fill the slots, soldiers, I am assuming we can mix and match as we darn well please? I'll have more questions,
  10. Hello everyone, here's my second 06132, Skeleton swordsman. This Warlord Necropolis Grunt was sculpted by Kevin Williams. Like the first one I painted, the lightning on its sword is freehand painting. These huge swords are great canvas to elaborate all kinds of effects.
  11. As some of you know, @buglips*the*goblin and I paint some German Infantry of WWII for Warlord Games tabletop game Bolt Action - or another similar set of rules. You can find our WIP thread ->here<- But though the key to success is hard work, all good projects some when end somewhere. To celebrate this, we decided to set up a Show Off thread. So ... enjoy what we come up with until all of our Germans are painted ... (which will be in ten years or so) First off - the first 5 men of my winter unit. Enjoy
  12. Painted that one in 2017, but never made pictures of him. But last weekend he got a gig as a model in the photography class. So finally: Picture! Yay! I used fluorescent paints for his eye sockets, so they glow under UV-light.
  13. Next mini off my shelf of shame: The little mummy from the warlord familiars pack III. Only when I painted the eyes of the scarabeus I realised that the sculpt is one eyed. And then I was too lazy to add the other one. Oh, well... Just a quick paint up, enjoy! C&c welcome!
  14. Finished! This is another one of my long term residents of my shelf of shame. Stripped, re-primed and re-painted after an unsuccessful first attempt. I tried for a somewhat mayan color scheme by googling pictures of mayan art and choosing the paint closest in colour that I had. Fun fact 1: The mayas produced a special blue-green pigment which they used in their paintings. This pigment is very resistent to weathering. It's known as maya blue. Fun fact 2: Mayas used the same word for green and blue, meaning different greens and blues were seen as shades of ONE
  15. Hello everyone, I completed this model last night. 14124 Kevis the Overlords Mage was sculpted by Chaz Elliott. This guy will be an evil evoker NPC in a campaign I'll be running.
  16. Hello everyone, here are pictures of 14098, Khufu the Nefsokar Warlord sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. This Warlord model is one of my all time favorite miniature, the scorpions on the axe, headpiece and necklace are fabulous. The storyline behind this mini is also fantastic.
  17. Hello everyone, I had a busy week and managed to complete this model last night. Here are pictures of 14026, Nakhti the Nefsokar Captain. This Warlord model was sculpted by Bob Ridolfi, I painted it with Reaper MSP paint. I love the detail on this mummy.
  18. @SisterMaryNapalm and I both have some German Grenadiers (and I think he was some Fallschirmjager as well) that we are working on, and since that's a fine coincidence I thought it would be fun to share a thread with our work on them. I know we're at least using somewhat different paints, and possibly also different methods, so it might be interesting to see how they turn out. These are mine from the Bolt Action Band of Brothers starter set. I have another squad, but all of those are wearing standard Feldgrau uniforms so they're represented here by the Leutnant with binoculars a
  19. Hello everyone and Happy Halloween. Here are pictures of the model I completed Yesterday. 14288, Soriel the Overlords Hero was sculpted by by James van Schaik for the Warlord line. He's a mercenary NPC in the D&D campaign I'm running. I like the unusual shape of his exotic sword / axe. Enjoy!
  20. Hello everyone, here are pictures of a cute but deadly little lady goblin. 14178, Skralla the Reven Hero was sculpted by Jason Wiebe. I painted her with Reaper MSP paint. According to the rumours; Skralla grew up near the Shores of the Sea of Stars, far from Monglash. She heard the tales of Razig and his undead crew, and has always wanted to join them. Knowing that Razig would never accept her unless she proved herself a true pirate, she raided Aizen Krahl one night and emerged with one of the dwarves' coveted guns and a trail of bearded corpses behind her. Now that she has the gun
  21. Hello everyone, sorry for this guy lack of decent clothing. I guess it makes sense to be dressed like this when you're a slave fighting in the scorching arena of Thule. This Warlord 14652, Necropolis Chattel model was sculpted by Stefan Niehues.
  22. Happy Halloween everyone, here are picture of a model I completed last night. 14285, Taletia the overlords Mage was sculpted by Gene Van Horne for the Warlord line. She's a tiefling enchantress NPC in the D&D campaign I'm running.
  23. Good Friday everyone, here are pictures of the mini I'll be using as a necromancer in my upcoming D&D game. 14060, Leisynn the mercenary mage is one of my top 5 favorite model. It was sculpted by Tim Prow for the Warlord game.
  24. Hello everyone, here are pictures of the third and last of the 06143, Tomb Guards sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. This is the metal version from the Nefsokar Warlord Army Packs. I kept my favorite of the three for last.
  25. Hello everyone, here are pictures of the second of 06143, Tomb Guards sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. This is the metal version from the Nefsokar Warlord Army Packs.
