  1. As part of Inarah's old of the year paint binge, I finished off this guy. He's a dwarf warrior made by Grenadier for their old Fantasy Warriors mass combat game. It was intended to be competition for GW's WHFB, but it never quite took off. It's still available (along with a lot of other cool old Grenadier sculpts) from Mirliton miniatures. Table top paint. Let me know what you think.

    06115 Dwarf Shield Maiden

Another go at NMM. Hope you like it. But if you all could find the time to critique my work, it would be very much appreciated. Cheers!

    B&B Hare Warrior

Here is my first I painted from the Oathsworn Miniatures Burrows & Badgers Kickstarter. The Hare Warrior. While he is intended to be a gaming piece, I'll probable never get to field him (save in a solo battle). So I ultimately stopped fiddling with blending on the NMM. The rules recommend a 40mm base so that is what I went with. Here is how the Hare finally turned out: Thanks for looking and any C&C you feel inspired to post.
  4. Hi folks! It's been a while since I last posted (or painted for that matter). But last weekend, I finished my modified version of Azarphan. Pictures from this miniature aren't found often here or in other boards. I think this is because only few people like his strange helmet (see here). I'm using the mini for a PC playing a cleric of Tempus (god of war) in my D&D 5E game, and wanted him to imiate the colors of his good (as seen here). I swapped the head for one from the Spartan Heads from Scibor Miniatures, in case you wonder. C&C welcome :)
  5. I had a really good time painting these. I had previously painted my Mudcroak as a poison dart frog. When I saw the squog warriors at one of my local stores, I was really excited except....the blister pack only had one squog. Got a deal on him so I only have one warrior. (I can always get more!) I decided to paint him as a tropical tree frog. A friend of mine at another game store had his box of Bones II and gave me his frogs to paint for him. I did his Mudcroak as a tree frog, one warrior as a dart frog, and the last as a corroboree frog. Here they are!

    Lord Ulthrak, Hasslefree Miniatures

Lord Ulthrak from Hasslefree Miniatures. Suprisingly easy to paint with quite nice results.
  7. "How did this come to pass? This one was with its brethren, raiding the Prime. This one's raiding party was Seeking a lost Silver Sword. This one was wounded, slowed. Then there was Mist, thick, heavy Mist. Mist was all this one could see. This one became separated from its raiding party. This one wandered for a time, then there was this Place. This Place is not the Prime. The core of this one's Being knows it, but this one cannot determine the interplanar coordinates of this Place. This Place is Mystery. This Place is Emptiness. This one is Alone. This one has no choice but to continue the Mission, Alone. The missing Silver Sword must be found. This one must Seek the Silver Sword. This one will find it. This one was brought to this Place for a Reason." As always, c&c welcome!

    77012 Gnoll Warrior Test figure

Critique please! This is the test fig for my gnoll contingent that came with one of my bones kick starter sets. The rest are about half way done, but I wanted to get feedback before I got all the work done on all of them so I can take said feedback into account.
  10. Been working on a few things today, the only one I can show since I'm doing my Summer Exchange at the same time is this guy who represents my D&D Group's Goliath Barbarian "Drhogath". Figure: Loratham, The Lost and Then Found Manufacturer: Enigma Miniatures Series: Massive Darkness SKU: ENM3029 Sculptor: Raúl García Latorre Size: 38mm to the eyes, 40mm to the top of the head Material: Metal Here you can see I had already put him together as his weapon is attached at the wrists (I pinned and superglued them followed by liquid green stuff). His leg is also super glued on and has liquid green stuff to add more stability and fix any gaps. I also added a little set of 3 skulls that I had on hand, I think they are from Reaper. The base is built up out of cork board and then I added Red Oxide Paste (Vallejo) to give it more texture. I primed with SC75 black primer and then lightly dry-brush reaper brush-on primer to bring out details. I'm going with the color scheme that the player wants here, he wants stock goliath from D&D which means I went back over his skin with blue liner and then went to work on skin tones using various grays, whites, and blues to obtain the look I wanted. These included: Reaper MSP HD Dragon Blue, Rich Indigo, Concrete Grey, Blue Flame, and Solid White and SC75 Eclipse Gray. Added eyes and hair colored to an off-white and then hit with some Solid White Reaper HD to do some highlighting. I used some SC75 Sahara Yellow for the skulls/bones, added in some Reaper MSP Graveyard Bone, some shadows with Reaper Brown Ink. I just kept going back and forth mixing these in different amounts until I got the color of bones that I wanted. Anyhow, this is where he stands right now, including the base build, I've spent probably 2-3 hours on him so far. Kind of hard to gauge when doing it in conjunction with other projects. C&C are welcome, encouraged, and appreciated!

    77015 Bugbear Warrior (Albino)

My last Bugbear. I already painted one of these guys with the traditional color scheme, so I decided to do something a little different. Meet Qtip the albino Bugbear.

    Mangu Timur 02483

OK. I "gave" this mini to my brother-in-law for Christmas two years ago. I told him I'd paint it as soon as I could... I just added the photos. I wasn't planning on doing WIP, but it will be my first real delve into NMM, and I'm going to need help, as I don't have LTPK3. My inspirations for the color scheme are from my brother-in-law: Favorite color is Red. I'm basically done with the cloak except the fur. It's shadowed with a mix of Splattered Gore and Brown Liner, and goes all the way up to Blood Red. I tried to make his freehand gold trim line on the inside of the cloak look like a continuous "Omega" symbol, but it didn't work out that way. I copied his "ankh-ish" symbol from his tabard/skirt, and freehanded one onto the cloak. I like how that came out, but wish it could be higher toward the shoulders. My other inspirations and what will help me with this are: Derek's Seelah http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/41709-60019-seelah-pathfinder-iconic-paladin/?p=586519 and Silvervane's WIP of LTPK3 which I followed and loved: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/58045-silvervane-paints-up-ltpk-3/?p=1002909 So I plan on doing nmm in small pieces. The first is on his left leg, from the knee down. Right now, you can see the model was primed white. Then I did the cloak and face through the visor. Then I did the base (walnut brown, brown liner, and the stone grey triad). For the nmm, I'm planning Brown Liner, Shadowed Stone, Weathered Stone, Linen White, and Pure White. I'm amazed how it looks almost there with just brown liner, Weathered Stone, and a line of Pure White. No blending or other dark lines next to white added yet. Just those three things. As it progresses, I'll be asking for help with the NMM. Thanks in advance!

    77015 Bugbear Warrior

I made him look a little old and beat up, and blind in one eye. Bugbears can live up to 89 years? I think?

    92762 Centurion Hero/Villain

I'd like to guess this one is a hero. She seems to have a pleasant demeanor. However, aren't centurions usually bad guys? Like in movies, and books, and bibles. Whatever, Hero.

    92759 Anti Paladin Hero/Villain

The last of my Hero/Villain set. This one is a no brainer. I imagine instead of a Holy Avenger this Anti Paladin got a Demon Shield. It's her side kick. Talks to her, has its own personality, etc. That's why I painted it a completely different color than her. I have a double of this mini minus the ax arm. I think i'll make it a Half Orc.

    Primus Death WIP

Yeah, I know, I should actually finish some of my WIP threads before starting more, but this guy was just too cool! Plus, I wanted to know if Enigma minis are fun to paint, so I can buy some more. I give you Primus Death:- No major assembly issues, the cover for his tummy furnace didn't fit too well but think I did an okay job filling the gaps. He's also supposed to have a chain attaching his wrist to his axe, but I don't think the figure loses anything in its absence (I could glue it to my fingers, but not to the mini). At the moment he is just undercoated and washed in brown (I've managed to get out of the habit of doing this to all my minis, but I really wanted to read the inscription on his tombstone).

Hi all, I am new to this forum and I recently started sculpting 15mm gnomes. Let me know what you think.

    77186 Bones Tiik Warrior

This guy was an experiment in a bunch of things. Trying to underpaint then glaze - I feel like I learned a bunch even if the results don't show it. Didn't turn out how I wanted it, but I also like the end result. Trying to do a basic OSL - I think I have an idea of what to do when I want to try it more seriously. Another try at fluorescent medium (didn't work) - this was the lure and the OSL. I forgot to add VGC Warlord purple to the gills, and I didn't feel like going back after I noticed. The WIP is available here I wanted him to look a bit shiny - so I went over the scales with a gloss coat on top of my usual gloss then matte varnish but for whatever reason this guy just looks wet all the time.

    Gnoll Warrior (77012)

I got a chance to paint Tre Manor's Gnoll Warrior, the Bones version. Love this guy--I spotted him when I visited a gaming store that actually keeps Reaper stuff stocked, and he became my first in-store Bones purchase. But, anyway. I "primed" him with gray liner and went from there. I don't know why I painted him gray instead of brown; because Disney, maybe. I remember those Lion King hyenas as gray, though I'm not even sure of that. But I shot for gray with black trim, such as it is. This was my first time putting gold metallic paint over a dark base, and I absolutely loved that. How metallics go on over this in general is big part of the reason I've shifted to black primer. Anywho, had fun with this fellow. My wife thought he was really brutal, too, and loved his shield. So when I please the wife in some way, especially with a mini, it's always a bonus. Thanks for looking!

    60075: King Castruccio Irovetti

Finally painted another Reaper figure after far too long, my WIP thread of him is available here Wish I could've done something to make the patterning on his 'skirt' stand out, but apart from that I'm fairly happy with him. Comments and criticisms are, as always, greatly appreciated.
  23. I tried to make his sword and eyes glow with mixed results. Overall, he came out better than I expected.
  24. Here's the other Fantization mini I ordered. I'm not 100% happy with his face, but then again I'm not usually happy with the faces... Elthan Silvermane, Dragon Slayer As always, C & C welcome!

    Barbarian King, CMON Miniatures (?)

Here is the Barbarian King, from CMON Miniatures (I think). I painted this one (along with Arwen and Kalee) to bring my total score of painted miniatures up to an even 40.
