  1. A while back, I picked up a BUNCH of these MTG board games at deep discount. There are some pretty good minis in there. The Shadows Over Innistrad expansion comes with three different werewolves. Since I nabbed four sets, that's a total of twelve general use werewolves for me! I'll do different threads for each sculpt. These were all painted years ago. They were pretty-much quick and dirty paint jobs (base coat, wash, minor highlighting, and a few details picked out). Not my finest work, but they fit the season. This first sculpt is officially the Moon-Blessed form of Arlinn Kord. Group 2 thread Group 3 thread
  2. Here's the second group of werewolves from the MTG board game (see the thread for group #1 for the background on these minis). Officially, this mini is one of the two Kessig Ravagers. I just like using it as a big, beefy werewolf. Group 1 thread Group 3 thread
  3. And here's group three from the MTG board game (again, see the thread for group #1 if you'd like to read about the minis' background). This is the other sculpt for the Kessig Ravagers. Group 1 thread Group 2 thread
  4. Here is Jean Paul Duchamps, DHL #2139. Small but mighty. Pictured with Tristan Loremistriss (DHL #2050) for scale. And here is Jean Paul DuChamps, DHL #2747. Bigger and badder. And together for comparison.
  5. Here is a pack of werewolves from Wizkids. Once again I found myself a bit annoyed with their smaller sculpts - they don't quite fit my personal aesthetic and some of the details are rather shallow for my tabletop skills. I chopped out the hand that one of the sculpts was holding. Quick painting and the photos tell me a familiar story - MORE highlights needed! All in all the players were surprised that those wolves trailing them had a bit more to them....
  6. This was my first time painting two of the same sculpt twice in a row, so I tried to make them pretty distinguishable for table play. I also hadn't realized how much bigger 77464 is then 77009, but I still think they work together and I'm pretty happy with the pack overall.
  7. Hello guys i would like to show off my progress of creating 3 miniatures of Werewolves !! This is work in progress and I will be updating this post for next few weeks. I really hope you will enjoy this process. If you have different ideas about Werewolves please let me know! I would love to sculpt one miniature based on suggestions and feedback, so if you have any references please feel free to share! First one is almost done, here is a concept for this bad boy. More updates coming soon! Thanks for watching :-) Also feel please check out my other work here :-) https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Artist/Art-of-Arkadiusz-Matyszewski-490287648116407/
  8. When I got done with these werewolves my youngest son wanted me to do a custom display base for them. He's my best critic when I ask him to look something over so I decided to indulge him :) I really loved how detailed the fur is and that they have their gums showing in the snarling faces. Great sculpts!
  9. These are what I finished painting this year, a year that was somewhat abbreviated by world events. Really, this is what I painted in the last six months, since political dismay kept me from the miniatures table for approximately eight months after the last US Presidential election. This year I painted my first Reaper Warlord figures who were also my first oversized werewolves, 77754 the Rageclaw Slayer, and 77755, Aislinn, Shadow Tracker. Nearly everything I painted was for the White Wolf World of Darkness and Exalted. 10. I had two copies of James van Schaik's 02863: Female Werewolf, so I decided to paint them with slight variations. I've painted them with realistic wolf coloring. That is, they are colored like actual wolves that have been pulled and distorted into humanoid shapes rather than the solid black or gray common in werewolf depictions. WIP thread here.
  11. By itself this figure is 02863: Female Werewolf by James van Schaik, but to be clear I got mine as part of the set 03495: DHL Classics: Lady Lycanthropes. I have two copies, but of course they are sold singly. It's an evocative little figure, with a slim build and fur suggestive of long hair. The tail is a separate piece which was too thin for my pinning skills, so it is simply glued on. I decided to paint these two in realistic wolf style. - That is, colored as real wolves would be, though distorted. After cleaning up mold lines, I prepared them by priming thinly with Titanium White and washing over with Burnt Umber. I also threw a quick green on the bases mixed from Yellow Oxide, Hansa Yellow and a small amount of Carbon Black (yellow + black is a fun and unexpected way to make bright greens!). Those broccoli bases caused me endless trouble. Note the tiny white specks on them? Those are tiny pits where the paint didn't take. I will eventually come to spend all sorts of time poking with specially thinned paint and tiny brushes trying to eliminate those white spots.
  12. Hi, Reaper! Haven't contributed in a long while, which I apologise for. Last year, I purchased a box of Mantic skellies and never really did anything with them after assembling them. Recently, I decided to start playing Kings of War, and found these beautiful models languishing in one of my bits boxes. I've also acquired a box of Mantic's werewolves, which seemed like they could be fun to paint up. I also have the GW Start Collecting! Skeleton Horde coming later this May, which should be fun. So, here are some pictures! I added a bit from the Empire State Troops kit for the leader's crown. I also attempted some very basic freehand on the shields, which I will add some detail to when I finish the unit. This unit was painted mainly with washes, which was fun. One of the werewolves. This is the first shade layer, which was a mix of Panzer Aces Shadows Flesh and Flesh Base.
