This is a boss character from the skirmish game - Wild West Exodus. At some point I need to get round to painting more of these.

Haven't been too enthusiastic about the hobby lately, but these girls sparked something when they arrived yesterday. Don't know how long it will last, but we'll see how far I get. Got them assembled yesterday. Had a few issues, the casting is so-so and they used this weird, rubbery resin (it's like Bonesium), so cleaning them up was a bit of a nightmare. But I got there eventually. Sheriff and Outlaw, no gaps to fill. Union Agent and Order Knight, again no issues (apart from some shocking photography). Native Warrior (left arm didn't attach too well, big gap on her shoulder to fill), Confederate Scout (missing a chunk of her rifle, plus a droopy barrel) and Bandit (Significant gaps on her neck and shoulder, inside of skirt is a mess). Mimic (missing a shoulder and an elbow. There's also a massive wedge of resin behind her legs, but I'm not even going to try and tackle that), Beast Girl (arms didn't attach well, gaps on both shoulders. Hands didn't line up at all, but seem to have fixed that with excessive application of super-glue) and Cyborg (missing part of her right arm and a section of her gun). And here is where I am today, all gaps filled and Pumice Paste applied to bases. Did a surprisingly decent job with the gap filling (particularly pleased with Mimics new shoulder and elbow), although I think Bandit may end up painted with a scarred throat.

I know I should probably finish one of my other projects first before starting a new one, but I don't wanna! I wanna play with Space Cowboys! (Well, technically they're Steampunk Cowboys, but I don't think they look particularly steampunky.) So here are the Magnificent 8:- Top row (left to right):- Sun Totem, Hicks Kincade, Jake Mattia, Marcus Wayward. Botton row (left to right):- Flowing River, Zarelda Kincade, K-Free, Sierra Icarus. And here they are after a coat of White Primer and a brown wash:- I've been trying to get out of the habit of pre-shading my minis (it uses up a Lot of wash), but my poor, old eyes needed help in picking out the fine details on these guys. If you're wondering about the random selection of bases, they're just temps. Originally I was going to make desert bases (The Eight were protecting a frontier settlement in an alien wasteland from Space Bandits), but Wild West Exodus uses their own style of really tall bases, and flipped over they have a really nice recess prefect for using Water Effects, so now the Eight are protecting settlers on a swamp moon from Space Bandits. Hopefully my water stuff won't crack like it did the last time I tried making a swamp base. Didn't get to far with this side of the project, glued the cork and sand in:- But the sand absorbed the IMEF Olive I attempted to paint on it, so I slobbered Black Primer over them all:- And now I'm waiting for everything to dry.
