I am thinking of getting an airbrush but am uncertain where it could be used. Specifically, if the airbrush is used at my painting desk in the house would it create a must of paint that could get on the floor or on furniture in the room? I only plan to spray acrylic paints at relatively low pressure so I don't think fumes will be a significant issue but wondered if a hood would be necessary to filter out paint "mist" if I spray paint in the house.

I picked up an airbrush kit on sale back in November. It came with two brushes, a compressor, and some other stuff. Here is a picture: The brush that I have been using mostly so far is the Badger Patriot 105. I say mostly because I have sprayed paint through it more than once, lol. I started with the bottom fed one (the 350) for one sitting of like 30 minutes, then tried another sitting with the 105 for like 30 minutes. I have since used the 105 for something like three sittings of 30-60 minutes. My total airbrush experience is something like 2.5 hours plus another 1.5 hours of cleaning and practice assembly. I have primarily just tried primers. The latest attempt has been applying Vallejo Surface Primer (black) to some of the graveyard set, namely the crypt and the fencing. Here are those results (minus a rogue golem arm that missed being airbrushed until I cleaned up and was later brushed with the same color in order to prevent having to clean the airbrush for one piece): I am thinking that I might try and use my Dwarven Forge paints to make this match the Dungeon terrain I have, but am not sure yet...and if I do go that route, would it be better to go with my typical dry rush route or should I be trying to apply colors on top of this with the airbrush? Or is there a different approach that I should be taking?

Show off might be a bit of a misnomer, I'm not the happiest with these guys, mostly putting this up for tips on what I could do better next time. Paste from final post in WIP thread: Alright "finished" with these guys. When I say "finished" I mean I'm overcoming my perfectionism to move on to something else because they're serviceable. Tried to use some speed painting techniques, but still took way too long, need to work on that. If anyone's got any tips on how I could have made them better without, layering/glazing/something else that takes forever, they would be much appreciated!

Hi All, When i do a wash, a drybrush or deluted white paint, (I tried a few different brands, Tamiya, Vallejo(all ranges) and Citadel) I find my whites to leave a somewhat grainy texture.. When airbrushing I find my tamiya to be the one who gives me the best and cleanest result, but I am still not truly happy with it. I use low pressure, a fresh clean gun and apply many thin layers to get the best results, but still not to my desired satisfaction. I know most white paints have less or larger piqments in them then lets say a red paint, but was wondering if there is a paint that has less of that grainy feel/texture to it. Which White do you all prefer for brush work and which one for airbrushing?
