  1. Printed this Amazon Fighter from Artisan Guild. You can get her as a free sample from Yeggie.. She's part of my Lost World Project. WIP: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/page/163/#comments
  2. First post here. : ) THE FOLLOWING DISCUSSION AND LINK TO IMAGES IS CONCERNING A NUDE AMAZON FEMALE STATUE SCULPT. If this is something you would like to avoid, please do not continue. If you don't mind, carry on! https://imgur.com/a/CTFu53W From Bones 4 I purchased Dance of Death, Blacksting Wyvern and one set of the Amazon Living Statues. Here is my first Living Statue, I aimed for a tan marbled stone look. The miniature has a gloss varnish that really adds to the polished marble feel to it. Pretty happy with the result! The non-damaged statue (2nd of the pair) I'm hoping to try out a dark green marbled stone effect, with lighter green up to white veins. I think on the back side of the miniature's body I didn't quite keep the angled veins in mind. I turned myself around a bit in my head trying to imagine how veins would look in a 3 dimensional block of stone, haha. I aimed for the full statue to look as if it was carved from the same piece (which would make the sculptor a very impressive person!). Lots of fun with this model and I like the sculpt a lot. I think the breasts feel a little over-sexualized to my preferences, though I find the buttocks to be more in line with my personal experiences of life. Shrug. : ) BTW do the Living Statues have a Reaper Code yet? I'd like to add this to the aggregate thread but I can't find what the reaper code might be (I assume with them being new additions they might not have them yet?)
  3. I found a heck of a bargain on the bay and got a bunch of Hero Clix minis which included multiples of several. Of course, this becomes an excuse for conversions! I had three minis of what I think is an Amazon character named Lorelei. I'll be keeping one as is, making one into a barbarian with a massive sword strapped to her back, and this one is going to be either a really good sultry caster type or possibly a woman of the evening or maybe just a barmaid to give me more NPC options. Here we see side-by-side the original with my converted mini showing lots of GS where things were changed. I did a cobblestone-type base for her. Maybe wooden planks for a tavern floor would have made sense for the barmaid idea more, but a lady of the evening, or more specifically, an adventuring spellcaster fits better on a stone base as it could be the street, a path through the wilderness, a floor of a castle, or the ground in a dungeon. Versatility! The next shots are the initial layers of paint. I'll be doing dry brushing over them. I'm thinking the blouse will end up being white, but I actually kind of like seeing it in green. Not sure which direction I'll go color-wise. The hair will end up being a blonde with orange-red highlights or vise-versa. Probably going brown for the shoes so it comes across as leather. Hope you enjoy her! Comments, compliments, critiques, and insightful ideas are always welcome :=)
  4. Another grouping of minis from the batch that suffered sealant malfunction, comes a grouping of ladies from the Sunkissed Vale, Dryads/Nymphs/Warrior Queens of the fungal persuasion. All are from Ganesha Games "Fightin' Fungi" line for "Song of Blades and Heroes" The Queen herself: An Amazon Fungus: The Mitkityad Forest Nymph: The entire growth: And a very confused Goblin, pulling rank for this and the Gobblydegook (Hey, it came in the same set!)
  5. This is 77299 Female Antipaladin that I received from fanguad for the Spring Exchange. My "instructions" for my partner were to paint something that would fit either "Something wicked this way comes" or "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." Fanguad did great on both counts. She is definitely up to no good with her giant axe. He threw in a couple other sinister figures that are most certainly wicked! (89010: Damiel, Iconic Alchemist & 77123: Zalash, Dark Elf Assassin) She is beautifully highlighted and shaded and I am going to look at her when I next paint skin as hers is gorgeous! I love her face! We also happen to have the same color hair! Ha! Thank you, fanguad! I love her so much! My pictures do not do her justice. Fanguad, if you took better pictures, please add them on here!
  6. My first attempt at a resin mini. This is from Fenryll Miniatures in France. She's part of a set, but I haven't painted the others from that set yet. My skin tones appear to be dying as her skin looks a little bumpy up close in the pictures , still I'm happy with how she turned out, particularly with her face. I'll try and take a better picture of her face tomorrow. Resin is intersting to work with since it's so light wieght and you have to be careful not to snap off pieces. since there is not much flex or give. 7. Since this is about Kickstarter, I am posting this article in this section. Fundraising site Kickstarter drops Amazon for payments By Deepa Seetharaman SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Crowdsourced fundraising site Kickstarter has dropped Amazon.com Inc as its global payments processor in favor of Stripe, the fast-growing startup used by Twitter Inc, Facebook Inc and Apple Inc. The switch comes as the Internet retailer begins to move clients from its customizable checkout service to an Amazon-branded one. In a blog post on Tuesday, Kickstarter said it made the switch after Amazon decided to drop its Flexible Payments Service, which allows a company to develop its own checkout process. The new Amazon-branded Login and Pay service does not offer as much flexibility. Amazon's payments division has processed more than $1 billion in Kickstarter pledges and had worked with the site even before its launch in 2009. An Amazon spokesman declined to comment. Some analysts have said Amazon has been held back in payments because merchants are wary of handing over customer data to the company, which is rapidly expanding into new areas and competing with sellers. In early December, Stripe raised $70 million from Sequoia Capital and other investors that valued the startup at $3.5 billion, double from a year earlier. 8. So usually a figure takes me around two weeks to paint, but this being a relatively simple figure, plus the fact that I had the day after Thanksgiving off and was home alone (my beautiful little wife was working), I got to spent the last couple days finishing this figure up, just getting the actual base done about half an hour ago. I like this figure as it's one of the few fantasy figures that Iron Wind has done after its Ral Partha days. One thing that I am concerned about and maybe somebody has an idea, is that this is the second miniature I put matte finish on (using Vallejo), where after putting it on, some of it actually dried white in the grooves of the figures (between the boots for example). I found (hopefully) all those spots and added either a black or walnut brown wash to those spots, but it's kind of a pain. Does anybody know what this might be caused by? I'm using probably a ratio of three parts water to one part finish. Anyways, hopefully you enjoy the figure. I did two front shots, as the one shows the eye a bit better.

  15. VIGNETTES...As an avid collector and painter of miniature figures...I work hard at trying to come up with cute vignettes...sometimes requiring the conjunction of two miniatures from different companies...I try to build pieces that are like a snapshot (telling a story)...Vignettes are my love and passion...BUT! AVID COLLECTOR...I am also an avid collector and painter of two series of miniature lines...(Amazon Female Warriors) and (Female Pirate Figures)...both of which I am working on as private collections in simple non-vignette pieces. After many long months, I have started working on my Amazon Female Warriors...this posting is the 1st such figure in my (private army)...I have just ordered 10 varied amazon female figures from varied companies and look forward to their arrival in a couple of weeks. I will post them as I finish each one...sorry to say that I will/can not post a number of them due to the fact that they are topless with exposed breasts and I do not want to cover them up (just for posting) because they look fantastic as they are cast. 1ST FIGURE...Reaper, Lorna The Huntress # 02476.
