  1. This is a miniature I've had for a long time. Painted it when I was young. :) Still love the model. So much personality.
  2. Horrible pics, but I did this in the last couple days for my daughter
  3. My dear friends. I am taking upon myself a major undertaking. I am painting a mini up for my mother for Christmas. For that purpose it needs to be my very very best, and to that end, I turn to you, my fellow painters, to lend me all the advice and tips you can to bring out a complete piece worthy of giving away. This is the figure I have taken on. Sandra Garrity's beautifully sculpted Angel of Mercy. There is so much incredible detail in the wings, and so many wonderful folds of cloth, It is just a gorgeous piece, and I want to not only do the figure justice, but make it worthy of my mother, My own Angel of Mercy for so many years.
  4. Just saw this on my feed on Facebook from a couple friends and I just had to share this with folks here, since this is right in our wheel house. How to turn Barbies into Doctor Who Weeping Angels
  5. Amalor Myrnnyx, you will be missed! Darksword Elmore Angel (1308)
  6. I've been quite around the web for a while, but I have been painting. The first miniature I finished was a Christmas present for my mom. It's Garrity's "Angel of Light" painted in a breast cancer awareness theme for my mom :) Next is a speed paint for my PC in a module my group is currently playing. She's a gnome pyrokinetic :) and Cassie, gnome Wizard is perfect for her. The figure itself was a little rough around the edges in regards to the mold, but I like her nonetheless. She took about 3-4 hours. The next one is a "traditional" bard that is based off a Shakespearean theme I found on colourlovers :) He was a speed paint as well. Finally, the next one is a 54 mm miniature I picked up at the last con I was at. She's from Phoenix Miniatures :) I painted her up to be "Jane Austen-ish" for a dear friend of mine, for Christmas (she and I are both avid fanatics!). I went with a simple color scheme and based her with cobblestone plasticard amongst a colorful flower garden. I gave her the figure today and she loved it :) I'm just glad she liked it!! Enjoy! C&C welcome and appreciated <3 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!
  7. I painted up the Barbarian Babe sculpted by Patrick Keith. I was thinking of the snows of Cimeria while painting this one. We saw him hawking the babes on the floor at GenCon. Unfortunately I lost the tassle on her sword somewhere along the way. I also picked up some of the lovely Impact Miniatures line while at GenCon. I was really disappointed with the quality control. After I got home I found the minis were pretty poorly cast. This was the best of the lot. The only visible problem left on this one is tip of one of the shoulder pads is just completely missing. You might be able to see how bad the hour glass is if you look closely. Some of the other pieces were quite a bit worse. I will post pics later. I'm still trying to repair it. I thought the line of chibi figures from the old animated series "Dungeons and Dragons" were a terrific idea but I think I will pass now. Last of all here's Bob Ridolphi's wonderful Succubus sculpt. I am really happy with this piece. Bob is a great guy and a terrific sculptor.
  8. So I decided on my next project...a mini from scibor that I had to have as soon as I saw it... mostly.. the product can be found here but i can tell you now there is no way I'm painting it to look like that. I mean the paint job is really good quality but way to much goldy gold for me. Not sure how hell turn out yet, as you can see I am in the process of stripping my attempt at pearlescent armor and the primer off. I've also included the accompanying wings, base and head. (sorry for the depth of field issues...i'm using a close up filter and still getting the hang of it) Here you can see the wings that came with, but, and i mean no disrespect to the sculptor, the wings don't look that great to me... I might try to find a pair that look more anatomically correct like these for example. Really don't think the included ones will make it onto the final piece. I love this base but for some reason it doesn't strike me as a good match for the mini... I am going to try to scratch build something (wish me luck, it will be a first) And here we have the poor schmuck who stood in the way of my kickstarter pledge manager :) I will try to take photos periodically between sessions. but I plan to take this one slowly...
