  2. In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of animation in Japan the National Film Center has opened a site that will let you view some of the really old animation from the 20s, 30s, and 40s. Some are old enough to be completely silent while others do have sound. In either case, all of the one's I've taken a look at have the option to toggle English subtitles so you can read along. If you don't read Japanese I recommend using Chrome and activating the page translation feature to navigate. http://animation.filmarchives.jp/index.html Enjoy reliving the golden era of animation.
  3. OK Everyone. I'm so jazzed by the minis SGHawkins09 sent me for the 2015 summer exchange. This was the Bone Earth Elemental 77185 painted in an ice/snow theme, based as such. It might be a great proxy for a certain Disney Movie all the kids know by heart these days... She fogot to take pictures, so I did her the honor. She should be very proud of her work. I love how in certain shots/angles, the snow effect looks like it's melting! This figure and its partner have taken up front positions on the Shelf of HonorTM
  4. Last September graphic designer and computer animator Billy Hanshaw uploaded onto Youtube a as a demo to show off his animation skills. Mr. Hanshaw's animation takes an Escher-inspired symbolic approach, showing turning gears in a clock, an infinitely spiraling clock face, and the Seal of Rassilon melting off the Doctor's pocket watch. Steven Moffat spotted it and liked it so much he arranged with the artist to base the new season's credits on it.
