  1. This is the classic Reaper 02551, Monique Denoir. There are some gorgeously painted examples of her out there. Some of this post is quoted from an earlier post, since I find that giving information in each thread is useful, even if in the big picture it's redundant. All paints used are Golden Matte Fluid Acrylics. Color mixes are (usually) noted, but not exact ratios. Questions are welcomed and I will try to answer them. Critiques are appreciated. Monique Denoir is a Werner Klocke scupt. Her face is classical and lovely. She's certainly popular,
  2. For your consideration: Reaper Bones miniature Female Anti-Paladin. It wasn't until I started on my idea for the shield that I realized that *it* was the Main Character. Not exactly a daemon-possessed sword, but a symbiotic relationship none-the-less. Extravagant tone with bright, decadent colors. She-Hulk for the hair. Massive Voodoo for the dots. (More dots!) My cat Zen for the eyes. (He's a Tom.) Lots of non-textured areas to tell a story. Great player character or reoccurring NPC. A lesson of extreme - in Color and form. The armor was protective but the clothing was tattered like
  3. Figure 2 of 3 from World Wide Miniatures Day 2017. Had fun with the shield on this guy. Wasn't really sure where I was going when I started. Pretty happy with the results. Comment and Critiques welcome.
  4. After a middling effort with Dain Deepaxe, I was pretty pleased with how this guy turned out. I tried a couple new techniques that I haven't done before: I wanted to make his eyes appear like they were glowing, I wanted to get a smooth gradation on the cape, and I wanted to try some TMM-type shading on the axe blade. I think I did okay on the eyes, but not so well on the other two. First of all, I haven't found a good tutorial for TMM anywhere, so if anyone knows a good one, please do point me in the right direction. As far as the cape, I attempted using glazes; when that didn't w
  5. My local game shop had this hanging on the wall and I really liked the base. Putting it together was a bit rough. It came in four pieces: axe arm, body, base, and shield arm (which included a good chunk of her torso). The shield arm didn't fit into her body correctly, so I had to fill a pretty good-size gap with green stuff. Her right breast also had a bit of a crater in it that I didn't notice until the base coat was on, so I had to use a little more green stuff there. Still, a fun project for a $3 model!
  6. Needed a (bones and hopefully chip-resistant) mini for a tabletop character I'm playing and this fellow seems to be the ticket. Sure, the skull on his shoulder pad is a little off-putting, but it's not like the rest of him isn't. Threw about three hours at this fellow and was alternately happy and dismayed with how various bits turned out. The base is some Happy Seppuku stamped greenstuff.
