I finished Ape-X this evening, I figure he'll go well with the mad scientist group of figures that I'm slowly working on. His base was warped pretty badly, and even boiling it didn't help, so I chopped it off and rebased him on a resin base that looks like a wrecked lab. Like most of my stuff, he's painted for tabletop; I hope you like him.

I like this miniature. It's fun to paint and has character. Started with brown liner. Then moved up to Magma Red. Skip a lot of steps. I like his tummy. Fun to paint. Drybrushed some lava orange on him, but it's not coming out in the picture. Looks kind of brown. I mixed walnut brown and linen white in various quantities to gain different shades of grey. The gun and glove were painted with the following mix: 4 drops Honed Steel : 1 drop Walnut Brown. And dry brushed Magma to make it not grey. I think I should go over it again with the Honed Steel mix that or pick up a lighter colored metallic. Question: What color are the toenails suppose to be? I tried white and it looks weird. Then I tried black and it looked odd. So I went back over with the grey mixture.

Painted this guy up a while ago. Intended to use him as part of a diorama, but ultimately decided to leave him by his lonesome. Entered him in the Spaceship Superstar contest and the Year of Giants contest. He was a fun experiment in shaded metallics. Clockwork Brass is so fun!

Hello and greetings Reaper forum members. I present to you my first finished miniature of the year. Ape x breaking free from captivity. I know that's a long time to finish something. I used a brick for the base. Tea and garden dirt along with plant matter. The poles are plastic drinking straws. The net is from my Mexican snack package. The bases and placard are made of cereal boxes. Paint is craft paint reaper and Vallejo. Any ideas how to improve my painting are welcome. All thoughts comments suggestions and derailment are welcome. Gracious T-d Front Back Left Side Right Side
