About what it says in the title. Junk to jewels! Took some little gumball-machine toy dispenser bubbles, some scrap bits, and some GW Bitz that my friendly l.g.s let me fish out of the Sprue Heap. The goal was to make some baroque domed aquaria in the steampunk and dieselpunk line--the sort you might see in a Hellboy comic or Victorian science fiction. One is good, but now I've got the urge to make more! This one used a Reaper base and a Wizkids base to make the stand. Some Ork canisters provided plumbing: They would be good museum pieces, space characters, or simply curiosities in The Fisherman's Rest: Next up: Bombshell brains and craft-store jewelry domes, plus a dollhouse candlestick and the Bitz to make a brain-in-a-jar!

A few years ago I had picked up this aquarium decoration for gaming use, and not knowing what exactly to do with it I had stuck it in a cabinet and almost forgot about it. Then, while reading the Frostgrave rulebook, and about the various oddities that can be found in the city; I got the idea to make a terrain piece for my Frostgrave games that was a magically shrunken domed city that floated about the Frostgrave ruins. I separated the top piece from its original pedestal, and mounted it on a flight-stand peg and a conventional large round plastic figure base. I extended the castle grounds in the back with some Milliput so the dome, which came from a bubblegum-machine prize container, would fit. I'm really pleased with how this turned out. I think I will use it as a floating piece of terrain that moves randomly across the tabletop, or perhaps as a scenario objective. For the complete write-up on the conversion, please see my blog: http://onemoregamingproject.blogspot.com/2015/09/the-shruken-city-of-summergrove.html

I had to go to Walmart to get a couple of things earlier. While I was there, I spotted some aquarium stuff on sale. I grabbed what you see below. I didn't know what for at the time, but it was cheap, and I could use it for something. Looking at it more closely, (and putting a figure next to it) I figured it would make a pretty cool cave mouth. Except I don't have any foam to make a cave/cliff face with. So I put it asiude and began working on other stuff. A while later, inspiration struck--an evil shrine!! Here is what I'm working with: I'm probably not going to do much with the paint job, maybe some touch ups here and there. Most of the WIP will be adding bits and pieces to it (those will be painted, of course). At this point, all I've done is remove the plants that came with it. ETA--aw, jeez. Did I just pull a dumb move? Should this be here, or in the terrain section? If a mod sees this, put it where ever you think best. Sorry for the extra work...
