  1. A really nice mini 😃 I enjoyed painting his cloak! 😁
  2. Presenting the Sniper, part of the Echoes of Death Vol. 3 set by Kingdom Death, looking snazzy in her Sunstalker outfit. Another one where I had trouble coming up with a colour scheme, but I think she looks okay, just rather colourful! As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  3. Presenting Celine, an Elf archer from the Luminth warband in the Warhammmer:- Underworlds game by Games Workshop. Lots of fiddly bits on this one, but she came out alright in the end. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  4. Greetings! Ceneric, Wihtboḡa Warrior from Mierce Miniatures: Thanks for looking!
  5. As seen in the WIP section (thanks for all who helped me out). I thought I'd pop her here as no one else seems to have painted her. (Note that the enlarged elf ears and the base / mushrooms are my own additions)
  6. Not seen many painted examples of this mini, which is odd because I love the pose and demeanour of her. I've sketched in the basic colours but it's not really speaking to me at this point. I think I could do something with tweaking some shades and maybe introducing a spot colour to lift it. I can't decide how to paint the tassles, for example. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears - which reminds me, I added big elfy ears to the model, should it look odd to anyone. I'd love to see anyone else's version of this mini, too.
  7. So this is my first complete kitbash, this one is made of parts from five different kits. I've made it to be used as a ranger for my Rangers of Shadowdeep warband. Hope you like it! With the rest of the gang:
  8. Metal Centaur Archer. Pretty happy with outcome. What do you think?
  9. This is Bombshell Miniatures Fa'o the Cat Huntress (SKU 10049). Fun figure, painted to tabletop standard. Another one off the partially painted pile.
  10. Finally managed to get a mini off my shelf of shame. This guy belongs to one of my players the he had asked me to paint up back in 2017. The tunic was kind of a joke, but we decided to run with it. Last game session, he had used the bathroom and everyone was giving him a rough time about needing to have to repaint my bathroom given how long he was in there, and the fact that no one else could use it for the next hour. As suggestions of color schemes were being thrown out, one player suggested pearlescent green. I wasn't too thrilled with that, but it said how about a pearlescent cream color, which made me think of Sophie Champange. So, I grabbed the bottle, gave it a quick shake, put some on my pallette, and showed it off. It didn't seem too appealling on a white pallette, so I grabbed this players mini off the table and slapped a bit on the tunic. The owner of the mini said he really liked the color, so here we go after toning it down a bit with some Agrax Earthshade.
  11. Presenting Theron, a captain in the Hunters Guild team in the game of Guild Ball by Steamforged Games, and that's about all I know about this one. Quite pleased with this one, had fun painting all the stitching and other doodads. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  12. Another ReaperCon entry, and I'm pretty happy about how this one turned out! I wanted to pick up a Freeblades faction, and I went with Wood Elves, since my Frostgrave army is Dwarven. (Balance in all things!) The mini is from DGS Games, the paints are from Reaper, the base and pigments are from Secret Weapon, and the tufts are from Shadow's Edge.
  13. I painted this fellow as a Hobgoblin, I like his blue nose Thanks for looking!
  14. So this is the test figure for my orc warband for frostgrave and mordhein (WIP thread here) I like the palette so far and I'm happy how this guy turned out. I will post other minis as I paint them. Cheers!
  15. Good evening everybody! So have been doing lately a lot of classic Julie Guthrie from her Partha days and the last one I've finished is what is currently listed as an Archer, but that previously came in a set of three Rangers in her Partha Line "All Things Dark and Dangerous". Being he's these days called an archer, I kind of deviated from the typical browns and greens as I kind of wanted some deeper, darker colors. I started off with his lavender shirt and then just kept going with different plums and purples. So he's not too nature-like but he's maybe a moon or night ranger. Anyway, hope you enjoy him! and here's that image he originally came from back in the eighties. I've got the two guys done, I'm working now on the gal with the staff, hope to have her done before Memorial day is over:
  16. Good evening everybody! Just finished this one up last night and got pictures taken this afternoon. This one is an old school Julie Guthrie model from her Ral Partha All Things Dark and Dangerous days. Can't say if it was originally just an archer or a ranger, but she's definitely an archer and it doesn't take much imagination to make her a ranger as well. As always, colors gave me fits, but with the thought she was a ranger, I wanted mostly greens and browns, with some pops of colors (like her lavender money bag and her red sword hilts). The hardest choice on this lovely lady was the color choice for her gloves. I finally gave up and painted her with a light green (the same green that I'm using for the interior of a cloak on my next figure). So anyway, I took a bunch of angles of her, hope you like her!
  17. Good day everyone, In the wait of playing Scourge of the Howling Horde adventure, I recently painted these two nuisances. Inspired by Anne Foerster work displayed in Reaper's Online Store, I went with the classical orangish skin tone and dark leather color. I also added war paints on their face and limbs. 07003 Dungeon Dwellers Bloodbite Goblins sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  18. Hi All, Ever since I saw this design in the Kickstarter, I really liked her a lot, and when they made her in metal, I had to get her. Of course between now and then many months have gone by but I've finally gotten her painted, together with some other hobgoblins I've been working on. When I read the Monster Manual for coloring it said "their faces are bright red-orange to red", so for whatever reason I omitted the red part and just went orange. I think she came out in any case reasonably well though. I don't work very often with multiple-piece models, and with this chicky poo, I had to attach the hand and bow to her arm. Previously I've always attached pieces at the beginning, but this time finally listened to my reasonable nerd self and kept that piece separate, and attached it after the rest of the model was painted. I had previously painted the hand when I painted her skin elsewhere, but then attached the hand and bow and ended up priming and painting the bow after everything else was ready to go and that seemed to work out pretty well. The hardest color choice I had on her actually was her bandana. Yellow was a last resort, don't know if it would have been better another color? Anyway, hope you enjoy her!
  19. Started working on this guy today for one of my player. Since I'm a "newbie" and have no experience in working with skin, I was wondering if Reaper's Flesh Wash would look ok with the Elf Flesh base-coat for the skin. For the hair, the player want him to be carrot-top with a touch of grey. The could prove to be interesting. I'm also looking for suggestions for his clothing. almost anything is fair game, all though the campaign setting is in a desert/desolation area.
  20. Good evening everybody, Just finished this one last night, an old Ral Partha Robin Hood, sculpted by Dennis Mize with a Citadel Crossover group of figures way back when. Very classic feel on this one, and of course, even though green was the obvious choice, it ended up taking me forever to figure out where to put what color. Anyhow, very nice little figure, not too complicated to paint!
  21. Howdy, DDM Unhallowed 6/60 common... Kev!
  22. I was posting things out of chronological order. This is the very first bones mini I've painted. Constructive criticism is very welcome. Got another mini that's almost finished and I'll post it soon.
  23. This was a very personal project for me. Five years ago, the summer of 2012, I found my gaming group and played my first ever game of D&D. That was also the night I discovered this crazy, black hole hobby called miniature painting. I had noticed the minis everyone was using and asked about them. They told me the basics and I ended up purchasing a mini and some paints that night. I was also handed this mini, Reaper’s 14058: Lorielle Silverrain and was told I could have her if I thought I could attach her arm. While she ended up being the second mini I ever painted, I consider her to be the one that started it all. I remained at just the base coat stage until January 2014, when I joined the forums. After that my interest and investment in the hobby exploded. I really had no idea what I was getting into that night five years ago but I believe it was one of the best things to ever happen to me. And so, with that out if the way, I present to you Mile Marker Five. The original is included in the first photo for comparison.
  24. Hi guys, So here's a figure I got done a few days ago, a female human ranger that was made by Hackmaster I think around 2003-2004 and now is being cast by Ral Partha/Iron Wind Metals. I really like this figure, she's gritty and not a raging beauty.
