Lessee; I've got seven prompt lists handy, and if anyone's got more, feel free to post 'em. ... I got two of these from Twitter, the rest from either googling or following links. The general rule from the Official Prompt List is 'pen and ink, one drawing a day', but I am certainly not holding anybody to that if they don't feel like they can do it. And now, for something completely different. Yes, yes. I know. Not miniatures. But! Shiny! Art! With.. with .. with stuff. *Sage nod* The book part usually gets shipped with efficiency; medals and patches and things seem to depend on the efficiency of the crafter making them, but communication is good and things generally show up. I haven't grabbed hardbacks; I've been happy with the soft covers.

This started out as a series of posts in the Randomness thread as I was noodling about with ideas. But things in Randomness get lost fast, and people seemed interested. So here is how I developed a pen and ink drawing from a preliminary sketch to (hopefully - not quite there yet) a finished drawing. I'm currently involved in a game set in the World of Darkness combined with Exalted. My PC is a (former) vampire with a certain amount of mental baggage. This drawing started as a tiny doodle in my sketchbook about The Beast Within, a major leitmotif in White Wolf's vampire games, as seen in the character's House of Memory (a sort of mental structuring invented in the real world in classical times to help people remember awesome amounts of stuff). The original sketch was about 4 by 8 cm. The text (if anyone is interested) is "... I could see what of my character was now imposed. Alien ways --" "You weren't frightened?" "They are only memories -- Diagnoses, if you will, of the actual thoughts. They cannot harm me."

It's taken several years, but I truly felt that change last year. So with that progress in mind, I decided I wanted more. Tunick specializes in large photographs of crowds of nude people. The blue color is symbolic of Hull's relationship to the river and the sea. I was amazed at the cheerful volunteerism exhibited -- the models are unpaid -- and the sheer variety of people participating. It seems to me an eye-opening sample of what regular people look like naked (well, partly, since in this project each person is painted monochrome).

Thanks for the idea, Shane. Excerpt from article: My takeaway on this concept ... using sheets of plastic in a similar manner to make a water topped plinth. Tape the sheets together exposing the watery side and using a dremel or similar tool create a water-like rough edge, then using the opposite end attach them to a block or something. Pour resin around the bottom of the assembled sheets. Or just drill holes for bolts to make it steampunkish. With some colored plastic sheets mixed in you can add colors or dimensional shapes like a flat fish or some currents and swells. Example from site:
