  1. I think we got this years ago from a friend. After much looking, I finally identified this guy, I found him in the Citadel Spring 1986, Mr Abdul El-Crud. The miniature had a pretty bad paint job of Testors enamel paint on it, so I decided to spruce him up some.
  2. Started painting this one up today to practice shading and highlighting. I read in one of the tips and tricks threads about using liner for primer on Bones...I am sold. It makes it so much easier to see the detail without obscuring any of it. So far the face and hands got a basecoat and the cloak got the basecoat, shading, and some highlighting done. I am going to keep working on the cloaks shadows/highlights some more tomorrow. I may also go a little darker on the skin so that I have some room to highlight without making the face too bright.
  3. Hi all, this is my first post on this forum and I wanted to share my progress on the CAV bones early bird rewards. So here they are: #1 Tiamat: #2 Cougar One is reposed in a more static stance. #3 Assassin #4 Razor #5 Specter #6 Wight One is also reposed (I'm not a bit fan of the running stance for those ones). #7 Halberd (in a quick and dirty speed painted camo) ************************* I also stumbled accross the templates to build a Hercules Dropship in foam core, and I knew that I had to make it. (It was a fun project with my daughter
  4. So here are four Bones minis my D&D group picked out for PCs. I have to say I agree that the soft details make Bones less than ideal for PCs and important NPCs. Good for mooks and big monsters, though. Anyways, here they are. I need to get some Testors Dullcoat; my current matte spray is too shiney on Bones. Too bad this figure was discontinued; maybe we'll see it in metal. The details were quite soft on this figure, but it came out OK. I started out painting the cloth on this dwarf in blue, but then saw that was what every version in the gallery had. So purple
  5. Pretty quick paintjob of Reaper Dark Heaven Blue Orchid Assassin (SKU 2588). I matched the color scheme with the evil cult I had painted up earlier. Edited to add SKU to title and tags
  6. This is a Bones figure I painted in about 2 hours for a D&D character. My goal was to get a decent-looking job done, and that's it. Nothing special. It is marketed in the Reaper Kickstarter as a "new Bones" figure. It looks just like Kellen, Nobleman Adventurer, but with a hood. I couldn't find an SKU for this exact figure, though, since it's not available yet.
