  1. Today, I'm not feeling working on my main ReaperCon project for the diorama so I figured to stay productive and still do something I'll go ahead and start a WIP thread for some tabletop to tabletop+ painted figures of mounts and/or animal companions for the characters in my D&D game. First off I'm doing these three bones figures: animal companion brown bear (Jim), animal companion black panther (Alex), and Phantasmal blue panther mount (Bagheera). These are for the monk/ranger character in my D&D 'Broken Gods' game. I will use some green stuff to even out and blend into the bones broccoli bases, the bigger panther will get a green stuff made saddle and harness. After I'm done with these three: I will paint up a golden lion (the companion to the panther figure from bones 3 I believe) Find a fox figure big enough to be a mount - will need to be about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long. Acquire a nightmare figure for a mount or modify a horse or unicorn
  2. This is Jason Wiebe's sabertooth tiger, Reaper 02480. I painted it up with a lynx's coloration. WIP thread here. As a note, this is another form of the feline therianthrope also depicted here. So this is another PC for that idiosyncratic game of World of Darkness-Exalted I'm involved in. And that skull under the critter is small. (with 59037 Deadlands Noir Femme Fatale by Bob Ridolfi for scale)
  3. This is Reaper's 02480, Sabertooth Tiger, sculpted by Jason Wiebe. It's a nice muscular rendition of the Ice Age critter. This is my standard priming, with a thin coat of Titanium White paint (Golden matte fluid acrylic) and a wash of Burnt Umber afterwards. It reminds me of a lynx in general aspect, so I plan to paint it with more or less a lynx's coloration. The first thing I did was paint a sickly green, mixed from Yellow Ochre and Carbon Blck, over the base. I like to paint thinly enough so underlayers show through, to make things look more realistic. This works well for fur too. ... I couldn't help but notice that that skull underneath the creature is mighty small. Like, child sized. Next: Fur!
  4. Greetings! I've just finished this Ral Partha oldie from my collection - ES54 Winged Panther. I went for a naturalistic black panther look but with a bluish sheen to the highlights (a bit like you sometimes see in movies as they're prowling through the jungle!). The wing skin recesses are actually a really dark red/brown but you can't exactly see it on these pics. Interestingly, the blue highlights seemed a lot bluer after I added the static grass to the base. Thanks for looking!
