I am currently in somewhat beginning stages of trying to build an entire medieval village out of dollarstore foam and hotglue, this was the third building I've ever built actually. Unfortunately it was super hard to get decent pictures of it.. but I'm pretty sure that it at least looks ok. As a side note, I have absolutely no clue how historically accurate this thing is. It looked somewhat like stuff Ive seen in shows and online and I figured that it was for either frostgrave or dnd so It doesnt have to be the pinnacle of realism lol.

I already have the human blacksmith, but I wanted another blacksmith. Unfortunately I applied the paint to thick at parts (which didn't really help the fact that her face was kinda just a tiny glob already) but Ive got a wet palette that Ill be trying to use next time. I'm also absolutely awful at painting female faces, they always look ridiculous once I paint them haha. Anyways, and criticisms and advice are always welcome

I couldn't get him quite like I wanted, but charcoal all over seemed like the right look for a blacksmith. The biggest problem was applying it. anywhere I could get my finger looked fantastic, but left him oddly clean around the pliers and next to the anvil. You can see it much better on the cobblestones in the first and second pictures. I think I worked out a good fix, but it doesn't look as good in the areas it did go. I think I'm going to need to dullcoat him for protection. Any ideas for quick fixes before that would be welcome, as would general advice/recommendations/suggestions for improvement.

My son and I just found this series on YouTube: Man at Arms: Reforged Great series where a team of people at Baltimore Knife and Sword make various weapons from video games, comics, books and movies (among other things) and occasionally historical weapons, and show you how they make them.

A quick and dirty version of the Bones Blacksmith I did a while ago. Nothing fancy, basically basecoat + wash + abit of highlight on some stuff.

Got out my paints again. I am switching from Games Workshop paints to Army Painter. I bought myself a full set for Christmas. I am having trouble getting used to the thicker paint. Strumpet Blacksmith

Here we go with another bones townsfolk, the blacksmith. I decided not to clutter up the base with much as this is apparently his workspace. I did put a damaged shield to show his current WIP. Hope you like it. I also went with a borrowed camera to test it versus mine. To anyone who has looks at any of my past post will realize the difference in quality of the photo. This will also better represent my current skill without the blurriness to hide behind. Thanks for viewing and C&C are always welcome.

I was having a horrible time painting a female ranger. She did not want to be painted, seemed like every color i used was runny, to watery right out of the bottle. Maybe it was the humidity that day I don't know, but after trying to fix her difficult to paint face (its in a hood) and going from an unintentional monster face to a drag queen face, I decided to take a step back and paint some townsfolk instead. They seem easy enough, and make for great practice.
