This is Circe and friends from Bones 5. I looked up descriptions of Circe and she was described as “lustrous” and “the nymph with the lovely braids" and that she had hair like fiery rays. I tried to portray that in my painting. She is beautiful and I love her clothing. The little boars are so cute! Almost too cute!

The Hog Wild Crew from the game Malifaux by Wyrd Games. Warning: I don’t play Malifaux, but I do love these minis. Apologies in advance about any in-game mistakes I might make here. These are the entire contents of the boxed set called “Hog Wild”. HIPS plastic miniatures, many pretty small parts and a bit fiddly, especially the bonus gremlin (to the left) that was included in the box. Even so, lovely minis with a great sense of both personality and movement. The Hog is called “Old Major” but I have done him up as the tyrant Napoleon from the Animal Farm animated film (1954) which is a film everybody should watch (or read the book by George Orwell).“Old Major”, incidentially, is also the name of the old hog who starts off Animal Farm by holding an inspirational speech shortly before he dies, a speech that inspires the revolt on the farm and the rise to power of Napoleon. But I found this model to be much more Napoleonesque than the wise Old Major…as some animals are more equal than others. Ulix is the Leprechaun-like beardo with the top hat, and as far as I can tell, the leader of the crew. Penelope the hound helps keep the rest in line. I did this one similar to a dog a friend of mine had many years ago. The three little pigs huge boars. Excellent models with heaps of animation and personality! Imagine one of these barreling out of the undergrowth, charging straight at your little, unprotected hunting party… And the bonus bayou gremlin, and extra included in the box with a sticker on the outside.

Giant Mountain Troll The Old Troll and the Boar I cleaned, repaired and repainted a long time baddy from our gaming sessions, Reaper's Giant Mountain Troll. He had fallen to the floor a few times over the years and had a gloss coat instead of a matte coat for a sealer. So he was quite due for the treatment. Given his look and feel, I decided to paint him as an older troll. His skin is duller. His hair receding considerably. He hasn't fought anyone in a long time. Even the boar for his dinner wasn't much of a hunt. So he's kept his clothing in relatively good repair and found and made some better furs to wear. He still prefers his old stone axe. He was happy to find some stone laced with mithral to make a new axe head for it though. You can check out the WIP post to see everything I did to get him here. WIP The ol'boy will return to the carry case to stand before those pesky fellas from yonder cities and protect his mountain or wherever he gets plopped down. Enjoy. Greetings! I finally finished my mini diorama featuring a classic Goblin Chieftain's Chariot (FTG13) citadel miniature from "the olden days". I had a lot of fun painting & creating this & I learned some new things along the way. If you would like to see how it was created, the WIP can be found here. The last of my recently finished works, a batch of mostly Halflings from Stonehaven's latest Kickstarter. Unfortunately, same with my recently completed Lizardguys, these had a case of fuzzy primer. I had taken several steps to fix it, but the further I got along the more obvious it became. Thankfully, the pictures seem to magnify the situation, and the roughness isn't quite as obvious in person. However, the rest of the batch is soaking in the strip for now. First, we have the titan of the group, the Old Growth Treant: A Berserker, Boar, and combination of both: A Barbarian, actually a refugee from Dragon Bait Miniatures, but he fit this group too well to leave out: The Halfling Thief, who has now had her hood issues readdressed after seeing how this album came out: A pious Paladin named Reed: A fiery-headed Archer who looks quite manic in this close-up, hrm: The Linksman, an athlete prepared for any encounter: A Stablemaster, because we always need some villagers: A Halfling Maiden and pet: Skelly, the Village Elder...and we they say Elder, they aren't messing around:

I've been painting up a few of my vintage pre-slotta Citadel goblins recently & I have lined up this Goblin Chieftain's Chariot (FTG13) for my next paint job. I thought it would be interesting to do it as a WIP so, here goes.... As you can see, there's quite a few pieces to assemble. It's not overly complicated but I'm definitely going to have to paint up all the pieces first then assemble them afterwards, this may prove a bit difficult as I can't exactly stick them on blue tack on an old paint pot for easy handling. The goblins have some really characterful sculpting to them & I love the way the Chieftain is wearing a super big helmet & standing on a box to elevate himself above his crew & although you won't be able to see it after assembly, the box actually has a peeling "Beer" label on it! I am going to build a swampy base to sit the chariot on, I'm not that great at sculpting so I'd love to get some input/ideas/help from the community when I come to that point. Finally, there are a few issues that I need to overcome: 1. The chariot is broken at the yoke part & one of the axle scythes is missing. Pinning & gluing the yoke should be easy enough & I'm going to use some flattened copper wire for the axle. 2. The standard bearer's bow has a miscast section. 3. The Chieftain's right arm is miscast & is missing his hand. This hand looks like it should rest on the side of the chariot so I guess I will have to create one out of putty after I've painted the bulk of him & glued him to the chariot? I'm not looking forward to this bit! Thanks for looking!

More demons.

I was going for Ganon but he came out kind of flat. Too many minis to paint to go back to him. Maybe someone else can do better.

This guy was fun to paint. He looks fierce. When I took a picture of him with my flash on he looked radioactive.

This is my first time posting stuff online. I am still fairly new to the miniatures hobby, but I dove in head first and started collecting and grabbing up all the minis (old and new that I could). This is my first big non-gaming use piece. I am still learning different terrain techniques, but I thought it would be a fun use of some old Kings of War white metal minis that I didn't plan to use for gaming. Sorry I am not a great photographer. I am sure that is something I will get used to as I photograph more of my projects. details, details (mostly done with repoduced bitz)
