  4. I just saw an announcement for an upcoming The Princess Bride boardgame, coming in October. I'm so hoping the figures are in a usable 28mm-32mm gaming scale, as it would be so fun to use them outside of the game. Apparently it will be priced at $25! https://io9.gizmodo.com/the-princess-bride-board-game-is-an-inconceivably-good-1844687619

Stumbled across this and though some of you might find it of interest: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wetaworkshop/d9-the-boardgame If nothing else the figures look pretty cool! $99 for the core game + $25-30 for shipping might make it too rich for my blood, but I'll have to see what my finances look like in a couple of weeks.

  10. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/806316071/batman-gotham-city-chronicles-season-2 (Note: this is a follow up to the recently delivered Batman Gotham City Chronicles which is based on their Conan game engine, and lets you pick up the existing content if you didn't get it before, plus the new season 2 content) Batman™: Gotham City Chronicles is a mission-based miniatures board game where 2 to 4 players control the Dark Knight and his allies in their never-ending battle against crime through an asymmetrical and open game system. Each game involves an action-packed fight where two sides face off. One of the players assumes the role of the Villain and controls the most notorious criminals of Gotham City. The remaining players take control of the Heroes, who must work together as a team to foil the Villain’s plots. Each side takes turns, pitting their strategies against each other in order to achieve their objectives. [NOTE the core box image above is taken from the first KS so the 'stretch' tags are irrelevant, I've done so as the current KS doesn't show the contents as fully] Batman™: Gotham City Chronicles Season 2’s primary focus is Versus mode. Adventure mode racked up 42 missions in season 1, is still supported with 9 NEW missions in season 2. And, some of the new season 2 characters can also be used in S1 core box adventure mode missions. Finally, all season 2 characters come with their own tile, opening up a wider Versus mode selection pool for the 10 NEW versus mode missions.

  13. [Warning: lots of images incoming] Next up on my table are the miniatures from Cerebria: The Inside World, a boardgame from Mindclash Games in which the forces of Bliss and Gloom vie for control of an evolving personality. I'm going to try to do these two at a time (one from each team); the first two will be Harmony and Malice. Session 1 - prime + zenithal highlight Harmony Malice Session 2 Harmony With the airbrush, I did base+shading of the wings and base of the body. Colors used: - Twilight Blue - Snow Shadow - Surf Aqua - Violet Light - Sunset Purple - Maggot White Malice For malice, I'm starting with the NMM-bronze-ish body. I base coated with Khaki Shadow, then used Ghoul Skin and Moldy Skin for initial highlighting. Shadows are Woodstain Brown and NMM Gold Shadow (which I am not that fond of for Gold, but seems to work well here). Any other color recommendations? I finished up the session with basing the skirt in Redstone.

  15. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/idwgames/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-adventures-city-fall?ref=645248&token=49fe2161 for all your turtle minis needs (there seem to be an awful lot of proprietary dice gameplay wise, but other than that I haven't looked to hard at it)
  16. One of the people in my regular gaming group for the past two years is running a Kickstarter for his new game. There's a few ways to check it out now, and print & play is cheap https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/914925546/christmas-miss-givings
  17. I'm ready to post a few of my board game pieces. More will be posted as they are completed. WIP is available here. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/83665-folklore-the-game-miniatures/ First the Angry Oaks. Next the Bananach
  18. This goes live today (i'll add a link when it does) (almost complete pre-production image, minor changes possible) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkFwekye_zQ unboxing of the game (now if you want tiles for a dungeon crawl this looks a good deal) this is a reprint of the well regarded boardgame Caustrophobia (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/36932/claustrophobia) and it's first expansion with all new art assets and minis (unpainted) Monolith has already manufactured the game so it will be limited to 10,000 copies *I;ve asked and there are spares to cope with loss/damage during delivery)and deliveries are scheduled for January so minimal risk so ideal is you want to KS but worry about getting stung (but on the other hand if you don't like KS as a shop probably not for you)
  19. Looks like about 210 miniatures (including 3D tokens) for the Investigator pledges? Investigator pledges are $10 or $20 more than their counterparts for the first KS. 21. Been away a while but still steadily working through the lead and plastic pile. However went to the UK games Expo in Birmingham and picked up some new games, one of which is Army malls by Titan Forge. Lovely little game with some nice game pieces that deserved some painting love. Here are a few pictures
  22. About The aim of this campaign is to re-edit two games from ancient Egypt, the Senet and the Aseb, making versions that respect the Egyptian style. The two games are handmade using wood and stone. Senet is an Egyptian game, and is one of the oldest games in the world. Senet was a very popular board game in ancient Egypt, people of all social classes played Senet. Many Senet game boards have been found in various Egyptian tombs, including in the Tomb of Tutankhamun. Over time, the game acquired religious connotations and became a ritual for obtaining immortality or endless life. With the popularity of Senet, new board games appeared. One of these was the Aseb, also known as ‘The Twenty Squares game’, Egyptian game derived from the Sumerian Royal Game of Ur and Senet. Senet & Aseb Although the rules of senet were not written down, Egyptologists and historians have guessed at how it was played by the many pictures showing the game being played. Senet is a game for two players. Two players each have 5 stones and there are 4 counting sticks which are thrown to determine the moves. The goal is to be the first to carry all your pieces off the board, while hindering your oponen. Meaning of the squares ASEB is a game for two players. Like Senet, the goal is to be the first to carry all your pieces off the board. The two players start on each of the opposite sides of the board. They then move their pieces down the central aisle toward the final field and off the board to win the game. All games include box and rules. Reward of 1€ not included. The rules are written in English and Spanish by a professional. Valid for all levels of reward. Shipping is included in the campaign. The basic version games have a lighter weight than the deluxe version, therefore the shipping cost is lower. Shipments are only made to the countries on the list. Weight less than 1kg : shipping cost between 5-9€ Weight over 1kg : shipping cost between 5-19€ Weight over 2kg : shipping cost between 10-19€
  23. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/806316071/batmantm-gotham-city-chronicles/comments KS only (not coming to retail as Monolith made a loss on the retail version of their Conan game) optional buys plus lots of unlocked stretch goals game roughly based on the fairly well recived Conan game engine, they did a decent job with the Conan minis too so if your into batman and have the (significant) buy in it's probably a wise pick.
  24. Liking the look of some of the minis. Wary of what the production minis will be like. I want more than boardgame quality.
