  1. About The aim of this campaign is to re-edit two games from ancient Egypt, the Senet and the Aseb, making versions that respect the Egyptian style. The two games are handmade using wood and stone. Senet is an Egyptian game, and is one of the oldest games in the world. Senet was a very popular board game in ancient Egypt, people of all social classes played Senet. Many Senet game boards have been found in various Egyptian tombs, including in the Tomb of Tutankhamun. Over time, the game acquired religious connotations and became a ritual for obtaining immortality or endless life. With the popularity of Senet, new board games appeared. One of these was the Aseb, also known as ‘The Twenty Squares game’, Egyptian game derived from the Sumerian Royal Game of Ur and Senet. Senet & Aseb Although the rules of senet were not written down, Egyptologists and historians have guessed at how it was played by the many pictures showing the game being played. Senet is a game for two players. Two players each have 5 stones and there are 4 counting sticks which are thrown to determine the moves. The goal is to be the first to carry all your pieces off the board, while hindering your oponen. Meaning of the squares ASEB is a game for two players. Like Senet, the goal is to be the first to carry all your pieces off the board. The two players start on each of the opposite sides of the board. They then move their pieces down the central aisle toward the final field and off the board to win the game. All games include box and rules. Reward of 1€ not included. The rules are written in English and Spanish by a professional. Valid for all levels of reward. Shipping is included in the campaign. The basic version games have a lighter weight than the deluxe version, therefore the shipping cost is lower. Shipments are only made to the countries on the list. Weight less than 1kg : shipping cost between 5-9€ Weight over 1kg : shipping cost between 5-19€ Weight over 2kg : shipping cost between 10-19€

  3. Liking the look of some of the minis. Wary of what the production minis will be like. I want more than boardgame quality.
  4. Edit : wrong copy/paste for the comment in french, sorry So here is my stadium for Bloodbowl, realized in 2015; i wanted to share it with you.
  5. Hi, Here's my Conan the Boardgame miniatures. Painted in 6 weeks last year for a total of 120 hours of work. 212 minis.
  6. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1376478938/incantris?ref=category_newest We wanted to share the Incantris Kickstarter project image with you and see what you think! The project will be launching on September 7th, and it is only going to run for about 14 days! Do you think this project image will make people pause and see what it's all about? Let us know; we can't wait to get it started. = )
  7. Here's some stuff from the Conan Board game by Monolith. Sorry they don't have numbers. Thak (apeman), Skuthus, Amra (Lion), Conan the General, Conan the Warlord.
  8. A terror of tabbies from the Fireside Games "Here, Kitty, Kitty" boardgame, painted with The Army Painter paints. I'll be posting a painting tutorial in the BGG "Here, Kitty, Kitty" forum. The plastic, of course, is boardgame plastic, requiring quite a bit of mold line removal and gap filling. Like red and yellow, orange needs several coats for coverage, so correcting mistakes and painting over shaded colors took awhile. The remaining *thirty* cats are black, grey, and white, so hopefully won't take as long...
  9. Hi, I had very prolific holidays and in addition to Myshikn i finished some miniatures from Cadwallon board game

  11. From Impact! Miniatures on Facebook Holiday game special KickStarter coming tomorrow. All rewards will ship by December 5th. I have a special opportunity to buy back my board game Impact City Roller Derby from Game Salute. So tomorrow I'll be running a special 2 week KickStarter to help me make new resin miniatures for the game and offer the game itself at an incredible price to backers to help me buy back my game. I will also be offering my other sports games (Passing Shot (tennis), Golf Dice and Forceball (hockey/lacrosse) at incredible prices. First 27 backers will be able to get all 4 games and the new resin miniatures for the cost of just the board game. So stay tuned for the announcement of the project tomorrow. I am excited to get a chance to buy back the rights to my board game. From Tom Anders (Impact! Miniatures) in facebook Game Salute published the game for us [impact!] in 2012. As part of them paying for everything needed to publish the game they had the rights to the game. Game would not have been published without them. However now they want to stop carrying the game as part of their published offerings. So I have a choice ... I can buy the rights to the game and get all remaining copies or the remaining inventory will be burned to make space in their warehouse for new games and the game will be out of print. So no regrets ... just an opportunity.
  12. I think this is a relaunch of a previously canceled after funding KS.. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blackphoenix/armoured-syndicate-the-board-game?ref=category_newest A miniatures based combat board-game of mechs, mercs and money in the ruins of Las Vegas in the near future.

  15. Star Wars Descent - better known as Imperial Assault - is out now. I played 2 missions with some buddies last night and we had a blast. If you're familiar with Descent, IA is pretty much Descent 3.0 with a Star Wars skin. I really like the changes that they've made to the system so far, but I haven't played as the Imperial Player yet so I'm not sure how that compares to playing the Overlord in D2E. If you're not familiar with Descent, think of IA as D&D with only combat. Each time you play you assemble a map using different tiles that connect together like puzzle pieces. 1 player controls all of the Imperial forces, while the other players each control 1 character playing for the Rebels. You then try and complete your mission parameters in a set time limit. The missions chain together to form a campaign during which you can improve your character's skills, abilities, and gear. (Or you can just play one-off missions.) Sadly I can't pick up my copy until Thursday night. The agony!!!!

  19. I was hoping there was already a thread on this Kickstarter project, because I didn't really want to be the one to start it in case its unwelcome for some reason. That said, this subforum has become partially about talking about other companies' Kickstarters, and Mantic did back Reaper's Bones KS. Anyway, the Mantic Dreadball Kickstarter is coming into the home stretch if anyone here wasn't aware! The gameplay videos cover a few turns, and the basic rules are published as well. There are a number of mechanics only discussed in the comments and updates, including a deck of cards you can buy from with unspent actions, and which serve triple duty for other mechanics; a variety of league rules so your teams can gain experience, individual players can buy upgrades, and even a way to sell off parts of killed players to raise funds for new recruits; and rules for coaches calling plays to earn more coaching dice, and cheerleaders that can stir up the fans for additional coaching dice. With stretch goals they've already funded the base game, and are into the second expansion (Season 3, a.k.a. "Ultimate Dreadball" which introduces large multi-hex characters and 4+ multiplayer rules). Season 4 is planned, but won't be reached in this KS unless they top $1m... it involves taking the game "onto the streets and back alleys" and creates a more tabletop type game with scenery and terrain, etc. They have two "Vampire-esque" pledge reward levels that are now bloated with stretch rewards -- "$100 Jack" for the full game and about 35 extra figures beyond what folks buying the retail boxed game will get (several MVPs that can be hired into any team, extra players for the two base teams, and samples of the other teams funded through stretch goals); and "$150 Striker" for everything in Jack plus another two teams (14 players each), another six MVPs, 2 players from each of the other teams funded in stretch goals, and some KS exclusive acrylic tokens. The $150 Striker pledge also opens up Buy-One-Get-One-Free on the team boxes (8 players each), meaning you can have 4 Season-1 teams of 14 players each, and 4 Season-2 teams of 10 players each and 2 Season-3 teams of 10 players each for $225 (about 140 figures now, soon to include a large multi-hex figure as well, and more teams in the pipeline). Other popular miniature related add-ons are various Coaches (there are game mechanics to use them, but from the sidelines making it more of an upgraded token), a four pack of Cheerleaders (also in-game functionality, but from the sidelines), a Penny Arcade limited edition MVP, and a soon to be added "Team Upgrade pack" to add a few more miniatures to any given team. So, there you go folks! Lots of minis, January delivery, and what looks to me to be a really fun game surrounding it. Discuss!
