    Bones WereBear

I've tried to take the advice from my previous posts and apply them to this one. As always C&C welcome. Rather liked how this one turned out in the end for the most part. I realize bears don't have human eyes but I thought since this was a "were" then it should still have more human eyes. However I used Linen White, but against the dark fur it seems too bright.

    77579 Goremaw - Bones 3

Greetings! I don't seem to have as much time to paint miniatures as usual at the moment but I have been working on this beastie here & there lately. I really like this sculpt & I couldn't resist painting it purple. I did have a bit of a nightmare trying to paint the areas between the base of the worm & the (worm)hole so, if I was to paint another one, I would definately paint the parts up separately & glue them afterwards. Thanks for looking!

    77320 Galadanoth, Elf Sniper - Bones 3

Greetings Folks! Just a quick tabletop quality paintjob of Galadanoth, Elf Sniper from the Bones 3 Kickstarter - complete with wonky eyes...... Thanks for looking!

    77321 Giant Cobra - Bones 3

Greetings folks! Sssssssssssss, tabletop quality paintjob of the Giant Cobra from the Bonesssssssssss 3 Kickssssssstarter! Thanks for looking!
  5. This past week I completed the last of the four hero figures from the Bones 3 Kickstarter Wild West Wizard of Oz set: the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, the Lion, and Dorothy & Toto. (Still have the Wicked Witch and the Flying Monkey to do) This was a really fun set to do, and it had some interesting interpretations of the classic characters. Also, I was lucky enough to get a chance to already use them as my gang in a post-apocalyptic game of "This is Not a Test". For the full painting articles and more photos, please see my Bones painting blog linked in my signature.

Maledrakh's Bones 3 Statue of Dagon

This is a pair of terrain pieces that appeared in the Bones 3 pledge manager as was as far as I remember not actually a part of the Bones 3 KS campaign. Naturally, as it was called "Statue of Dagon" I had to have it. I kept the painting simple, as I want to use this as a scatter terrain piece. The main piece is 11cm tall. I forgot to put a mini in for scale again. Sorry about that. Statue of Dagon (as of yet it does not have a code number) Reaper Miniatures Bones 3 KS Unknown sculptor, it is not in the webstore yet. Behir / Chinese Dragon

The first miniature I have painted after opening Bones 3 box that arrived one week ago. Also, my first reaper miniature I would like to share. I must admit that I made a very poor job on the mould lines though and the paint job isn't as neat as I would like to... More pictures: http://zgielk.blogspot.com/2017/08/na-bezrybiu-i-smok-ryba.html
  8. These are the little standard bearers from Bones 3 Ogre Command set. I had considered adding bloody little handprints to the banner and then backed off because I wasn't sure. I think it turned out pretty well and I am really happy with their eyes! So here they are and a photo of them with the drummers because in my list 77567 says Goblin Standard Bearers and Musicians so I am guessing they are a set! C&C welcome!

Dagon Statue Terrain from Bones 3

I recently finished the Dagon Statue terrain pieces from Bones 3. Nothing fancy, but a series of drybrushed layers. Step by step can be found here: http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2017/08/dagon-statue-bones-3-terrain.html
  10. Knocked these out last night. Was a nice quick speed paint so I could get to doing the cultists. Needed something for them to stand around on the shelf. Used Dwarven Gold on the writing and the pics don't show that lovely peachy gold lustre from the paint.
  11. A bunch of you enjoyed my recent thread in the Conversions sub-forum in which I did some conversions on my Shipwreck Revenant from Bones 3, (To see that thread, click here: Shipwreck Revenant Conversion.), so I thought I'd do a thread to track my painting progress as well. To sum up that thread; basically, I replaced the "face" part of the Revenant with a figurehead using the Succubus Queen (Sophie's Mom) figure from the Bones 3 Stoneskull Expansion. I also replaced the Tiki Head on the back with a section of mast and a ship's wheel, as well as reinforcing the harpoon arm so it wouldn't warp under it's own weight, and a few other small additions. Here's a shot from about halfway though the work... So early this morning I gave all the parts a primer coat with Krylon with Fusion "Flat Black". Then, this afternoon when it was dry, I gave the parts an initial dry brush coat of Americana "Charcoal Grey" Followed with a dry brush coat of Americana "Mississippi Mud". And finished the base coat dry brushing with a final coat of Americana "Barn Wood". I'm now debating if I want to glue the whole thing together before moving on to the rest of the painting, or continue working on each part individually.

    Goblin Musicians - 77567

These are the goblin musicians from Bones 3. They are still a little shiny because it has been raining like mad here so they have not had their spritz of Dulcote. They have tiny little eyes but they were so fun to paint. I made the little stool goblin be rolling his eyes upwards. He hates his job. The drum carrier is pouting. You know how when you get a song stuck in your head? So does he! He also hates his job. The drummer LOVES his job and gleefully bangs on his drum all day! C&C welcome

    Frost Giants attack

Finally finished the other frost giant and the queen. Very what I call "busy" sculptures to paint. Lots of detail takes more and more time. Just have the Jarl left! Couldn't wait to have fun and set them up. The scale of the new Giants are great!!! The sculpts are just as amazing! Kudos to reaper!!! Hope to see new version of Fire Giants!

    Bones Ogre Command

I'm not sure about skus, so I'll update tags later. I had a rough day and powered through a lot,so later you get pics without much process. Here are untouched and primed pics.

    Space mouselings

While they're not perfect, they're as good as they're going to get due to mistakes made at the start. So the sons of Rodent Dorn, specialists in creating unassailable mouse holes.

    Gourls Paints a Demon Hunter

It's been awhile since I've painted anything in general, much less a human-sized mini. I also tried giving her lipstick. It isn't great, but not terrible for a first attempt. Just doing something at tabletop quality anyway (or it is for me).
  18. So I have been watching everyone's unboxing videos of their Kickstarter 3 stuff (i'll prolly do one of my core set when it comes in, off Ebay unfortunately but still super excited), and I have heard the hot irons (number 156 in the torture chamber series) twice now being called a Root Beer Float. I found this extremely amusing:)
  19. Long time lurker, second time poster, first time upload. Here is the Frost Giant Queen from the Reaper Bones 3 Kickstarter for your consideration. I was unable to participate in the Bones 3 Kickstarter as I came upon these Bones figures late in the game. However, the participants who were able placed their unwanted miniatures up on eBay, so I took advantage of opportunity when presented. I focused on Color Theory and Texture on this piece as she provided a very large palette to paint upon. These Giants provided me practice in sketching too, which makes the entire line appealing to me. Side note: Gratitude to those who did place these minis up on eBay without jacking up the prices. I was able to purchase the both Frost Giant Royalty around cost of what Reaper will sell them at Retail. This certainly displays an ethos in the Reaper community that makes this community stand out among others. Further, having lurked for awhile: the community here is quite kind and helpful. This is a good community of miniature painters. I like the Bones miniature range. The detail on this miniature was very close to what I expect from the metal range, and I will purchase more of the Bones range in the future. I am looking forward to the resculpt of Vanya, the Fire Giant Princess, and her new size to match the Fire Giants in D&D. The attire of this miniature is akin to the Viking attire of old, and I found my SCA ventures to assist me in painting this Viking Apron and embellishments. The sculptor did an outstanding job and I look forward to more of their work. The FAQs were an asset that made my first foray into Bones an easier one. I had difficulty with flash lines until I picked up some diamond files, which handled them quite well without marring detail like my serrated files. The bent pieces were fixed with some boiling water and cold water quite easily. The pieces fit together like a glove, though I admit I still pinned them. (My OCD was tingling.) I did use Krylon as Primer, and the tackiness disappeared after the first coat of paint. She was sealed only with Krylon Dull Cote and exhibits no tackiness. She has been handled and there is no rubbing off of paint. I like how her base was round, though I am ignorant of what would be an appropriate Reaper base to place this inside of. (I currently have the King on a GW Dreadnought base, and I do not like it. If anyone reads this and has a recommendation, I surely would appreciate it.) This Bones line of miniatures has proven to me to be a Good Idea and one I will support. I am already purchasing more of the Bones 2 line for my D&D and Oldhammer alternatives, and I admit excitement at the new of Bones 4. Based on the quality of these miniatures: you will have an additional participant. Please keep up the outstanding quality and amazing work. I hope you enjoy my efforts. C&C is always appreciated: it is the only way an Artist can improve. May your blends be smooth. Peace and blessings.

    Bones 3 Iron Golem

I think this is the best sculpt for an iron golem. As soon as I saw it I knew how I was going to paint it. I'm sure the inspiration is obvious. At first I had a nice fresh golem but it didn't seem right, so I needed to make it look like it was in a fight (most likely with a big green hulking creature).

    Bones 3 - Death Dog 77407

Just finished my first Bones 3 mini paint job from the core set - the Death Dog! I actually managed to finish it in an afternoon (which is pretty quick compared to my usual glacial speed). Thanks for looking!

Standing Stones and Mythos Terrain - Bones 3

Standing stones are done. Almost ready for the game table. The Cthulhu statue isn't finished I just put it in there to get an idea of the encounter I'm building. I will be adding to this thread when Ive finished up the two statues and the altar. Edit 7-16-2017 Mythos terrain Statue of the thing that should not be. Minithuhlu Statue Altar
  23. Here is my next project. Shouldn't take too long since I wont need that many colors. I wont be gluing this one together as I want to be able to disassemble the standing stones for storage. With that in mind...I'm debating whether I should use any static grass on them or not...decisions decisions So far I've partly primed lil-thulhu. I'm going to find out if this new grey bones takes paint like the white bones.
  24. I've started painting my large army of bones ogres. Since my orcs are rust coloured I decided to try making ogres green, I'm pretty happy with the result.
