  1. Greetings! Bones 3 Wereboar! Thanks for looking!
  2. Greetings! I recently finished this Werebat from Bones 3. Thanks for looking!
  3. Here is all that I finished in March - one undead archer - the bowman from Bones 3 undying heros. Paining a giant took the rest of my time... In any case, he was kind of a quick diversion, just so I could get the satisfaction of a finished mini - always can use more undead archers! His
  4. Goblins! So awhile back I was horrified to discover that some old un-finished minis had sprouted a strange orange mold. I gave them a deep clean and seemed to have solved the issue (spoiler: I did not and it's affecting nearly all my minis... but that's a problem for another time). As a reward for enduring the cleaning, these goblins deserved to finally get painted. Goblin Command (77349) First up are these two baddies from one of the Bones 2 expansion sets. These guys, being earlier bones, are a bit on the rough side, and definitely out-of-scale with the others. But that does help them stand out a bit. More Photos Below the Spoiler: Goblin Warriors (77444) Next up, we have our "heavy hitters" from Bones 3. I like these sculpts a lot better. There's a uniformity in the face structure, while still having individuality between models. More Photos Below Spoiler: Goblin Skirmishers (77445) The final batch of wimpier goblins from Bones 3. These guys are the mookiest of mooks. Poorly armed, and poorly armored. These are the guys that get sent in first to soak up some arrows. More Photos Below Spoiler: It's nice to finally have some painted goblins. Though my bag full of 50+ more unpainted goblins still taunts me. I have plans to paint them in a few different shades from the yellow-green used here, to a fleshy yellow-tan, to a pale fleshy-grey. Hopefully that'll break up the duplicates and add some variety. But that's a future project. After painting all these guys up I am tempted to finish the set with the Goblin Honor Guard. They're the only ones I don't have. I can't see myself getting much use out of them, as they're a bit more situational or decorative than practical. But my completionist brain says I need them. Reaper has so many incredible and different goblin sculpts. Which ones are your favorites?
  5. And a third NPC - his day job is boatswain, so I wanted the armor to not be full plate.... he's currently helping the party do a fetch quest for the captain. I'm pretty satisfied with what I got out for what I put in - but I do notice I seem to have forgotten his eyebrows!
  6. With a meat cleaver, still looking for some elevenses. Second breakfast! 77562 Undead Halfling Rogue from Bones 3, Undying Lords add on Reaper Miniatures 2016 Sculpted by Bob Ridolfi Classic Bones 20mm base
  7. From Bones 3: Vegepygmies The Children of the Forest. Now, where has that three eyed raven gotten to? At last, vegetables that fight back! Take that you Vile Weeds! 77513 Vegepygmies from the Bones 3 Stoneskull expansion Reaper Miniatures 2016 Sculpted by Kevin Williams Classic Bones 20mm bases
  8. From Bones 3: Gug "It was a paw, fully two feet and a half across, and equipped with formidable talons. After it came another paw, and after that a great black-furred arm to which both of the paws were attached by short forearms. Then two pink eyes shone, and the head of the awakened gug sentry, large as a barrel, wabbled into view. The eyes jutted two inches from each side, shaded by bony protuberances overgrown with coarse hairs. But the head was chiefly terrible because of the mouth. That mouth had great yellow fangs and ran from the top to the bottom of the head, opening vertically instead of horizontally." H.P.Lovecraft, The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath Ahoy, my dream enemy! Have at you! Also, this one will be a part of the Kings of War Nightstalkers army. 77524 Gug, Eldritch Horror from the Bones 3 Mythos expansion Reaper Miniatures 2016 Sculpted by Michael Brower Classic Bones 40mm base
  9. From Bones 3, the Werearmadillo Obviously, lycanthropy has spread too far...and this is a reminder that Reaper are from Texas, where armadillos are native and as I understand it, seen as pests. I would really like to know how the sales figures for this model compares to other lycanthropes. 77498 Werearmadillo from the Bones 3 Stoneskull expansion Reaper Miniatures 2016 Sculpted by James Van Schaik Classic Bones 50mm base
  10. I have a series of vignette's I'm planning that all feature ogres in amusing scenes with townsfolk. The first of this series is here. With this one I imagined the young milk maid is taking her boyfriend home to meet the parents for the first time. The boyfriend, wanting to put on a good first impression has worn his best striped collar and matching belt, as well as brought his best skulls. He's a bit nervous so she's trying to reassure him. "Don't worry... Mom is going to love you." She doesn't say anything about dad, though... Any critique and criticism is always welcome.
  11. The Left Hand of Darkness here is from the Bones 3 Stoneskull expansion. I painted this one at the same time as the Bones 4 female devil, as they make a fine pair. Speaking of fine pairs, you will need to click the links to see, as the titilation offered by a shapely two inch piece of plastic might be harmful to minors. Full Frontal More Full Frontal Even More Full Frontal The Left The Other Left A slight Angela from Spawn vibe going here. Not sure what about this mini that makes me think of that character. 77496 Eilluvasheth, Succubus Queen Bones 3 Stoneskull Expansion, 2017 Reaper Miniatures Sculpted by Bobby Jackson Made in Bonesium PVC 32mm base available from reapermini.com
  12. I'm late on this one, it was hidden in a drawer... "Brain in a jar", (i used epoxy resin) :
  13. Greetings! I recently bought some Greenstuffworld colourshift paints & eagerly wanting to try them out, I searched through my (huge) Bones backlog for a suitably metallic mini. I grabbed the fantastically ominious Iron Golem from the Bones 4 Stoneskull Expansion & got to work. The blue areas are the colourshift paint, all the other areas are standard paints. I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's not as easy to see the effect on these pics as it is with your own eyes but you can make it out. There's no shading or highlighting on these areas apart from some silver to pick out the rivets & sharp edges on the arm plates. Thanks for looking!
  14. 77451 77153 77449 77450 Thief : Blue Ink base + black ink to show details (least happy) Cleric : angelic ghost or spiritual weapon spell. Yellow ink + TMM Ranger: painted by minispawn. ill take it. Makes a great ghost Wizard: nulin Oil + higlights of green ink (fav) Fighter: I only painted the base. (represents an invisible PC pretty well.) I should talk to @Doug Sundseth about this again, since he is teaching a class on it, probably today. Not sure im happy with the set.
  15. Per Izzy, If you picked up either of the Art Books in the Bones III and IV kick-starters and would like to get them autographed, be sure to bring them with you to ReaperCon. Izzy will be signing them when time allows.
  16. Hop, here we go ! Succubi (nude) : https://postimg.cc/DmM9ZxJP
  17. I didnt do too much detail on these guys. I was mostly just using up paint that I had mixed for my goblins. Im not entirely a fan of these guys but I figured Id paint them up anyone for a Tundra themed campaign Im working on.
  18. Peter Paul Rubens 1577-1640 Rubens's depiction of males is equally stylized, replete with meaning, and quite the opposite of his female subjects. His male nudes represent highly athletic and large mythical or biblical men. Unlike his female nudes, most of his male nudes are depicted partially nude, with sashes, armour, or shadows shielding them from being completely unclothed. These men are twisting, reaching, bending, and grasping: all of which portrays his male subjects engaged in a great deal of physical, sometimes aggressive, action. I added a twist, lean, and adjusted his neck. WIP
  19. This past week I painted the Behir figure from the Bones 3 "Stoneskull" Expansion, as I work my way through the remaining figures I haven't painted yet from that set while waiting for the arrival of Bones 4. For the painting article on my blog, see: Behir Article
  20. My party always seems to have a menagerie of animals... here is one of them. Is it wrong to find a donkey cute?
  21. And here is a fire giant I finished recently. I was much happier with him, but the photos reveal some sloppiness! In hand, he's great for the table and I feel satisfied. I'm currently working on a third, so let's see how that goes!
  22. So I was really proud of this guy, am planning on submitting this for the inspiration Gallery I think it was new for bones 3, so this may be one of the first painted. Oh there is a metal version - sculpted and painted by DKS. aw man.... I need to fix some stuff. Also when I first based it the leaves were too bright and stole attention. (also a criticism of my Reapercon entry) So I tried adding some dull brown paint to tone it down. I think it worked and may go back and do the same to Treetop Pheonix.
  23. I finished the Obsidian Crypt from the Bones 3 kickstarter. I looked at lots of photos of old mausoleums for inspiration. Now, I just need to finish the fence and all of the main cemetery parts will be finished. Then just ghouls, golems, worms, etc to do to complete the entire expansion. I had fun flocking the crypt. I resembled Oscar the Grouch by the time I was finished! I put a couple flickering LED candles inside the crypt to emulate torchlight/candlelight and thought it turned out pretty cool!
  24. Okay, I did not see anyone else post one of these (and yes I know it's a year late), AND if it is NOT allowed, MODS please delete. BUT, in case anyone cares to see, I have posted my long awaited Bones 3 Core Set unboxing. Enjoy. https://youtu.be/35bkA3Ny6dQ
  25. I painted the Merrow from the Bones 3 Stoneskull expansion this past week. As I looked at the figure, I decided I wanted to play up his aquatic nature, and thought it might be fun to paint him like a frog; and then I thought it might also be neat to do him in wild colors like some kind of Poison Dart Frog. Looking at pictures of colorful frogs, I decided in the end to copy the coloration of a Red-eyed Tree Frog. For the full painting article, see my blog: http://allbonesabout.blogspot.com/2018/07/merrow-aquatic-troll-bones-3-figure.html
