Quite pleased with these, didn't put quite enough contrast into the different colours of the various parts of the Bride of Frankenstein, otherwise I'm quite pleased with all of them: I'm just about half way through my Bones 4 pile now, let's try not to think about Bones 5!

This is Inn Keeper Sophie from the Bones 4 Core, Sophie and Friends subset and was sculpted by Gene Van Horne. It was #160 in the set but is now available as SKU: 77750.

Inspired by a DOTA 2 team and KFC/Long John Silvers combination fast food spots, I present to you the chicken fighters. Still pretty new to this, all feedback and tips welcome. Thanks!

Here is another wizard from the Greybeards subset of the Bones 4 Core set. This one does have a metal version (SKU 03953) and was sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I had fun with this figure. I love the character in these wizard figures. This one is strongly reminiscent of Gandalf. Though I resisted the temptation to go grey I did sneak Gandalf's rune onto the medallion on the back of his hat.

Here is one of the wizards from the Greybeards subset of the Bones 4 core set. I could have sworn there was a metal version of this but I couldn't find it in the web store. I like this figure because even though the design is relatively simple, you get a real sense of character.

I started working on the wizards from the Bone 4 core set. I was originally running through the usual themes - brown, grey, red etc. but this colour scheme on a different figure really caught my eye and I thought it would work on this figure. I didn't realize he was supposed to be an evil wizard until I looked it up on line (sku 03847 by Bobby Jackson btw). But hey evil wizards can like bright colours too, right?

This was an experiment that I'm only mostly pleased with. I think a better painter would have been able to pull off the lightning wings more smoothly but, on the other hand, they came out better than I expected and I really like the concept and had a lot of fun trying to pull it off.

Here is Arnise from the Female Fighters subset of the Bones 4 Core. It was sculpted by Werner Klocke and is also available in metal SKU# 14018. The idea of a green skinned wild forest elf was intriguing to me. I found many reference artworks on Pinterest. I've had the resin tree base for awhile, not knowing what to do with it but Arnise's lean was a perfect fit once I cut the base away.

Here is Ava Justina, Female Templar from the Bones 4 core set. She is in fact figure #1 in the set. She was sculpted by Bobby Jackson and is also available in metal SKU 03746. I drew inspiration from GW's Sisters of Battle and went for a clean black armor look. Unfortunately the casting is a little soft in some areas - especially around the legs where the plates and chainmail are not so well defined. I cut her off the cast-in base and put her on one I made with the Temple roller from Green Stuff World. There are fleur-de-lis in the pattern which I thought would be a neat call back to the Battle Sisters.

Here is Zadim, Iconic Slayer from the Pathfinder Iconics stretch goal to the core set. He was sculpted by Bobby Jackson and is also available in metal sku 60179. I kept pretty well to the Wayne Reynolds artwork for the colour scheme.

This meaty barbarian by Bobby Jackson is also available in metal sku 03869. I went with the typical barbarian scheme of leather and furs.

Here is the cyclops from the Bones 4 Cave Dwellers stretch goal. This a really nice figure and casting. I've been committed to working through by core set and I'm still only about 25% in. Man do you get a lot of figures in that KS!

This figure is also available in metal sku 03761. I tried to capture the no-nonsense with basically 5 colours.

Blink Berenwicket, Female Gnome by Bobby Jackson is also available in metal sku# 03732. The armor is painted with some ancient GW green metallic. I experimented with blue metallic on the sword but I'm not overly thrilled with the result but it is good enough to call done :)

I spent a couple of hours on this yesterday but lost the light for photos. This is one of the gorillas from the Ape Attack! add on to the Bones 4 Core set.

I was all set the tackle this with a standard eagle-lion look with shades of brown when I found a great drawing of a griffon in blue which inspired the colour scheme. I did this relatively quickly - it was started and finished today.

This colour scheme was also inspired by artwork found on Pinterest. I finished this in a day working on it along side my griffon.

I finally reached the point where I think I'm done with Mossbeard, the enormous ent from Bones 4. I wanted to go to town on his base, and almost immediately after recieving my package, went out to Michael's and bought some dollhouse/fairy garden deer, frogs, and mushrooms. I also ordered the Bones familiar pack #1 (77176) and some Tiny Terrain trees from Miniature Market. And then, I just didn't do anything with him for over a year. Finally decided to get him done. While assembling him, I decided to make use of his empty chest cavity to install a tea light so his eyes could glow, so I drilled right through his eyes and neck, and filled in the eyes with clear gel medium so the light would come through when illuminated. Used lots of grass tufts, lichen, and cuttings from am IKEA fake plant, and put some fairies I've had for over a decade into the base, too. I also modified the head so he was looking more directly forward, since he was largely looking down in the original. Hope you like him! Here is Sophie from the Small Worlds Heroes subset of the Bones 4 core set. I started this awhile ago and recently decided to finish it. These chibi-style figures are a fun break from the usual "serious" characters.

This will be the last of the "townsfolk" from the Bone 4 Core set for me for now. That only leaves the farmer's wife with the torch and rolling pin but I want to move on to other pieces and pallets. I'm pretty sure these were sculpted by Bobby Jackson and I don't think there are metal versions. At least I couldn't find them in the Reaper store.

Though technically not part of the town themed figures, I tapped him for the captain of the guard. I did him relatively quickly.

I'm trying to complete all the town related figures from the Bones 4 core set with the same colour palette. I took my inspiration from the Whiterun guards in Skyrim. This pair of guards is also available in metal.

Here is my most recent Townsfolk figure from the Bones 4 core set. He is also available in metal (SKU 03859). Two things I tried differently on this one were 1. no under-painting and 2. letting go. I usually apply an coat of German Camouflage Black-Brown over the whole figure to start when working with Bones. I know it has been shown many times that Bones are designed to go from blister to paint but I wanted to check it out for myself. I just went straight to the base colours, shading and highlighting with no issues. The second was more difficult. This was me telling myself to trust myself and the figure and not overwork the paint. I had to remind myself to pull back when I started thinking, "maybe I should add another blend or work that edge some more..." At first it was a little uncomfortable but after awhile everything sort of fell into place and I am happy with the results.

Here is another Bones 4 Core figure from the Townsfolk subset #51. She doesn't have an official title even in the metal Townsfolk I blister that that version can be found in. With this round I continued to play with textures and tried emphasizing detail with black line. This is something I have not really embraced due "realism" but I am happy with the results.
