  1. Hello All, Here are photos of a 44007 Bones Black "Brother Hammond, Traveling Monk" I completed recently. Thank you for looking.
  2. Hello All, Here are photos of a 44170 Bones Black "Circe" female Sorceress I completed yesterday. Thank you for looking.
  3. So as long as I was batch painting thought I'd tackle these as well as I got five reaper's Slithe (sahuagin) waiting in the wings next. OMG what did I get myself into, hehe.
  4. Well been trying to force myself to paint more trying to get out of this non-paint funk so I'm now at least 50% of my regular production. So here are a few I forced myself to do, mainly 3d prints. Of course, I had to do at least one Reaper figure.
  5. Presenting Zeus, the Storm Giant from the Bones 5 Kickstarter (I don't think he's had an official release yet). Really pleased to get this big guy finally in the finished pile! In places he's painted a little simply for something on this scale, but overall I'm happy with him. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  6. Hello All, Here are photos of a Bones Black 44071 "Dark Elf Priestess - Drow Cleric" I completed early last year. Thank you for looking.
  7. Finally, this nightmare is over with. It seemed to take forever because of my "poor planning," waiting for basing parts, painting the succubi before I had a base idea, etc, and I am not really satisfied/happy with the look because of it. But oh well it's done !
  8. I thought I try another WIP thread, generally I don't like to do them because in past it was a hassle to set up everything just to take a progress shot, but with a new camera now thought I give it a try. Started one on the Song of the Sirens but when I saw nudity when I came to that figure (she was the second in line) quicky dismissed that idea. So thought I'd give these a go instead. Didn't prime with zenithal like I ussually do instead just primed with a red/brown from stynylrez because of all the skin showing (at the time primed the sirens song and a couple of dancing ladies as well).
  9. This is what happens when you spend an afternoon watching a double bill of Jason and the Argonauts and Clash of the Titans (80's version), you remember you picked up a big Zeus-alike in a Kickstarter and you must paint him NOW:- Here he is all washed, boiled, straightened, scraped, assembled and primed. Since I'm a messy drybrusher, I did the base first. The stone started with a base of Stone Grey, while the dirt is Leather Brown, it all got a Black Wash, then the stone got a heavy drybrush of more Stone Grey and then everything got a lighter drybrush of Ghost Grey. Since he's so big, I'm going to paint him in sections, starting with his left leg.
  10. the last of the elemental Scions - I loved painting all of these. she was sat on my desk for at least a month primed with a bit of base coating. She was pushed aside for other projects. then the RCL popped up a "Gradient" theme. really every part of her is a gradient and she just clicked in my head. I am not as satisfied with the hair as I wanted, I decided to go minimalist on the top of the blades, but added reflected colors to the underside. I liked the horns enough that I repainted the male scions to match. Her skintones were tied close to his as well. ill add his images later.
  11. Hello All, Here is a recent work I completed last week. 44049 Bones Black "Stone Lurker" aka "Roper." Thank you for looking.
  12. Presenting Graghuk, an Ogre I plucked from my big pile of Bones V stuff. This is just a simple mini I've been poking paint at for the last couple of weeks, just to get me painting again, but I don't think he looks too bad. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  13. I'm supposed to be painting HeroQuest Goblins. Which naturally means I'm painting anything else (Mystic Circle, Thing in the Well, Mumlak, and Demonic Lasher). But at least I'm painting! First up was a bit of repair. Mumlak's adze was broken when it arrived, but a quick pin later and he's almost as good as new! I should have run the knife along the tusks while I was at it. But I didn't. Night One: I wasn't sure where I was going with this guy, I was originally going to go with a dark brown for the bare flesh. But that just felt like it would be way too much brown for my taste. I eventually defaulted to the Neutral Greys triad starting at "Cloudy Grey" instead of "Stormy". I knew I'd be using the Stone Greys on the adze, so didn't want to duplicate colors. The fur got a base coat of Pure Black and a dry brush of Muddy Brown, Earth Brown, Leather Brown, and Tanned Leather. The tusks are, rather unsurprisingly, the Ivory Bone triad. The skull topper on the jug and the femur are Bone Colors, the bird skulls will be the Neutral Bone triad. Night Two: Drybrushing, so much drybrushing. Rainy Grey on top of the Cloudy Grey. Misty Grey on top of that. The finger and toe nails are solidly applied Misty Grey. The tusks have gotten the rest of the Ivory Triad. The adze got its Shadowed Stone and Stone Grey drybrushing. The bird beaks are the Golden Skin triad. I don't know if the beaks should be more yellow than the rest of the skull, but that's the way I'm doing it. The jug is getting the "Yellow Ochre" treatment. I think I'm going to use the Terran Khaki triad on the shells on the jug, although it looks halfway decent with just the liner/wash mix. I still need to figure out the cordage, earrings, and "washers" on the cordage down by the jug. And there might be a surprise or two as well. Thanks for dropping by!
  14. I had painted Kallaguk first and wanted a darker feel (skin color) to this one as I consider them both marsh trolls with the fins. Not sure I succeeded or not but oh well I tried. hopefully after I finished those Ral gnolls my monster fetish will be over with (lol) and I can get back to painting PCs. Oh yeah those are swamp vines on the base not him taking a dump, hehe.
  15. "Opps", the owner of the shop said, "didn't I mention you have to kill them first." The two marsh trolls I just recently finished; the cave troll was from one of the quarterly contests thou I never posted his pics afterwards. Was hard to get a good pic of their faces as both are looking down and they are so large thus wasn't able to crop my strip at the top from advice that DKS had given me when taking pics from my old camera.
  16. Bit of wet blending and drybrushing, trying to work of a photo reference to get colours right rather than just 'brown'. .
  17. Her bendy blades lull her enemies into a false sense of security... .
  18. Fantasy edgelord championship belt holders since the late 80s! .
  19. Painted as a deep gnome in the Underdark. .
  20. I was experimenting with different tones of grey with airbrush zenithals, and oil washes, to try and get the skin looking stone giant-y, yet subtly different and more 'living' than rock. The green gem necklac was a bit of a throwaway idea and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. . . .
  21. I had fun doing three characters of the same type this month (vamps and elves) well actually seeing them pictured together was the fun part that I thought I'd round off and finish February with some thieve's but this time decided to add a common theme, brown and green to hopefully give them more highway rouges look and not city thieves but of course the female was all city. "So do you want to live forever?" this figured so reminds me of that scene in Conan, and I would of loved to have given her blond hair, but was hoping the red would bring out the dress more since it buried in shadow.

  23. One of the pieces from Bones 4 that I was most excited about was this one. The Fungal Queen is very regal IMO. I'm using a color palette based on a Blood Mushroom. I hope to not add (many) more colors than the ones shown below. I may not even use all of those. So far I've gotten her skin (somewhat) base coated and the mushroom top is more or less finished. Lots of touch-ups and tweaks but very happy so far.
  24. Presenting my first finished Bones V Kickstarter mini, the mighty Hercules! I don't get much painting time these days, so he's a little rough and rushed in places, but he's done and he doesn't look too bad. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
