  1. I was lucky enough to trade one of my extra Bones Black Owlbears for Garghuk. I am glad I traded because I love this mini! He was great to paint and I can't wait to get him on the table to thump some adventurers!
  2. Hello all forum family, wanna share whit you my last work: Garghuk, Ogre Chieftain, the free Black Bones June mini. Tryed another skin type on him , something pretty dark, and to give him the most natural look possible, choosing my palette colors do not have too much contrast (just a complementary contrast between the sash and the browns). Pretty happy of the outcome, I hope you will like him too! Every comment, advice and/or criticism is welcome as always! Thanks fo watching :)
  3. The maggots are replacement from damaged goods in bones 4. (Reaper came through again) the ogre is the new ogre chieftain (bones black). Enjoy. CC welcomed.
  4. From the fourth Bones kickstarter (no, I have not received my shipment yet, not even a shipping notice). This minis was sold online and given as a freebie if you ordered for more than USD 40 from the Reaper site in February this year. When I ordered it I was not aware that this mini also is in the kickstarter. The January freebie owlbear was not a KS mini, so I assumed the Febuary one would be seperate too. So I will be getting another of this mini with the KS shipment. So anyway..."Bones Black". a darker grey, much harder, less unbreakable, and heavier material than the regular "Bonesium
  5. Some basic table-top paints here, The owlbear paint is (more or less) a straight up copy of the Reaper website example but i think the base is interesting. It starts off basically as a rock/gravel pile, and I thought it was rather boring so i turned it into the Owl Bear's cave floor covered in feces about an arms length deep. Practiced some sculpting on it. With P3 putty The big rocks were turned into Ogre skulls, a horse skull, and a face-down skeleton of some sad creature, all simmering in poo :) The Ankheg, it's always a balance of painting something like for max visual
  6. Presenting Ziba the Efreeti (although I've gone for more of a giant, scary woman version) who was Marchs Bones Black promo mini. I think I did a pretty good job with her head, the rest not so much, but I had fun painting her. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  7. My first Black Bones mini, I got this lovely Owlbear from @Corsair !!! Thanks friend I hope did it proud! WIP here if interested: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/85553-bones-black-owlbear/ It took primer and paint very well. Glued with Greenstuffworld Superglue to it's base and flocked. Hope you like it!
  8. This pretty lady jumped straight to the front of my painting queue, and it was about time I painted another Reaper mini:- Here she is, all cleaned up and undercoated in primer. Got a little further today:- Not going down the red skin route, so Ziba is currently covered in a basecoat of 1:2 Dwarf Skin/Rosy Skin with a Flesh Wash. Aiming to get her skin finished tonight.
  9. First picture out of my swanky light box that also doubles as a garbage can, also the first miniature that I used Motolow liquid chrome to highlight the metal.
  10. There have been many others, this one is mine. good crisp detail, I tried a variety of primers - brown liner, brush on and none. it all worked. I'm liking the material
  11. Completed these in the past week or so. Wanted the Dire Wolf's fur to look unnatural; the quality of this particular Wizkids sculpt wasn't as good as I've experienced with the few others I've painted. The Bones Black Owlbear was a pleasure to paint; mostly just washes and dry-brushing. I've noticed that oftentimes people paint the pupils on owlbears to be too large, much like an actual owl. I've found that this diminishes the 'ferocity and scariness' of the owlbear by making it look more surprised.
  12. Painted this one Saturday, standard table top paint job. Harder to paint than I thought it would be. Hard to get the legs smooth and not chalky. Critiques welcome. Oh forgot to mention slightly modified.
  13. In the Reaper Live videos, it's been mentioned that most rattle primers are ok to use. But no one that I've seen has mentioned their results of spray priming their bones black, so I thought that I would post my results here. I hope that others will post theirs as well. Cleaning and prepping mold lines on bones black is very different than regular bones. I would compare it to other gaming companies hard plastic while still having a little bit more flexibility. So far I've used the following primers, I'll add to this list as I use new ones: Krylon Colormaster White
  14. I asked my youngest daughter what colours this fearsome Rock Troll should be. “Ummmmm wike dis” as she pointed at her Easter Oreo cookie. Purple and black it is! He now stands guarding the cookie jar, although I don’t think he’s doing a very good job... C&C are always welcome
  15. I got my Freebie Stone Troll a short while ago. He is okay as is, but I have been admiring G.W's Molog, a mushroom encrusted Troll. Being one of those Guys who can not leave well enough alone, I am Mologing the Stony Fellow: I figure he will be a denizen of Compo Heep's Mushroom Caves & Bat Poop Farm; ergo, the cavern base: Did I mention leaving well enough alone? I thought so. Have a good night!
  16. Like a number of you I picked up one of the new owlbears to see what the Bones Black material was all about. Given the local weather I decided to paint it up as one of those mythic polar owlbears you occasionally see wandering around.
  17. I live! I spent January making lots of little art that piqued my interest to get back into making art frequently again! I painted a friend's Heroforge mini. It's quite grainy compared to metal minis but goodness, has it gotten so much better. I also have a rough camera adding additional graininess. It's hard to see here, but the vast majority of his robes are in Leather White. Pure White was only used for the extreme highlights, like on the potion bottle. The red also has green in the shadows. I'm learning! I painted our entire set of the Secret Weapon Tabl
