  1. I finished some townsfolk recently, they snuck into the queue ahead of my halfpainted drow squad. 😮 Fruit seller in metal (SKU 4023): Farmer and beggar in Bones (SKU 77665):
  2. This is the Reaper Bones Familiar from the Stone and Familiar set (SKU 77390). He will be an important bard NPC in a Savage World game I am hoping to run sometime soon.
  3. Here are 2 Bones 3 ogres I finished in the last few months, Reaper Ogre Matriarch (SKU 77568) and Ogre Chieftain (SKU 77566) . The detail on the goblin was very soft, and my painting progress stopped for a couple of months. But now they are finally ready for some tabletop fun.
  4. Since even cultists love fashion, I went with purple marble on this one. This is the Bones version of the 77139, Altar of Evil sculpted by Bob Olley.
  5. Hey everyone, here's another sarcophagus I painted for an upcoming D&D session. This one is the 77632, Sarcophagus sculpted by Bob Ridolfi.
  6. Hey everyone, here's a two-piece model I painted for my current D&D campaign. Strongly attached to the Halloween theme 77540, Large Sarcophagus sculpted by Kevin Williams. A place of eternal rest, unless there are ghouls around.
  7. Hi there all, I've decided to dive into the deep end with finally trying the scary world of OSL. 😄 Feel I've lost the plot on this ... so any advice on how to proceed with this would be greatly appreciated! (Having fun, though, despite not knowing what the hell I'm doing. 😁) I'm including a "top down" view, which is where I'm most confuddled. That dark line down his arm which represents the shadow from the staff which sits between the source of light ... it just doesn't look right to me. 🤔 So, I'm all ears for suggestions on improvements!
  8. Been a minute since I've posted a WIP, so I figure I'd roughly document my current paintjob. I'm running a 5e game with a heavy focus on the Shadowfell, and our most recent addition to the party is a native of that realm - a Hexblood or "Hexen" in our game lore. These dark fey are the children of hags - The Mothers Three - and are made from earth, blood, and stolen souls. Going for a dark but vibrant paintjob - blue skin, and dark clothing. After priming, I like to block in my darkest colors. It makes it easier for me to avoid missing a hard-to-reach spot later, but without worryi
  9. Got my Reaper Bones V goodies a bit ago, and slapped some paints onto the Pumkinhead beholder. I used Citadel Wraithbone primer, contrast paints, and Army Painter Matte varnish and... months later it remains slightly tacky. It's not... awful. But it's enough that if I put it away in a box with other minis, I'm afraid it won't mix well. I've left it out in the sun for a day, thinking that might 'bake' the stickiness out of it... It did not. I got Reaper Bones because I figured I could paint, varnish and throw into a box with all my prepainted minis. Some of my older bones
  10. This one has been on the desk for awhile to receive paint as there was extra on the palette. I decided to finish him off last night. Added highlights to the cloak and skulls. Shaded everything, but the cloak with Army Painter Dark Tone. I didn’t add any highlights or shading beyond the basics as it isn’t a great cast. But, I think it turned out great for the toy box.
  11. Here's a collection of the second batch of finished minis I have from Bones V. Party like a Barty. Yoho, a Pirate's unlife for me: Draugr...I mean, Rune Wights. They're not sure why they've been typecast as Thieves: "What do your Elven eyes see?" Kobolds, the only thing as dangerous as a Giant Rat in a starter dungeon. Und
  12. I finally got around to doing some basing on my take on reaper's Gauth, in bones I do not know the SKU unfortunately, but I think it is from Bones 4? Anyway, I tried to paint him up as a White dragon, but I also wanted to keep it interesting, so I highlighted from three different colours on separate parts of the hide, mostly pale purple, grey on the central spines down his back, and turquoise on the belly! Take a look, let me know what you think, c&c's more than welcome!
  13. Having recently started a pathfinder campaign I needed some miniatures suitable to use as Bandits or town guardsmen. After looking for a bit, I settled on the Bones Black Maggotcrown Men At Arms. Unfortunately, when they arrived, having ordered them from eBay, the spearman's weapon was mis-moulded, so I had to replace it with the spear from an old GW high elf. C&C's are more than welcome, hope people like my take!
  14. Another one bites the dust….😆 One of my favorite sculpt…but in the old Bones plastic. I put a little extra into the base, otherwise it was a pretty straight forward zen of Bones quick paint job. Overall I like the scheme and it has given me ideas for when I paint my metal version. Not sure about the green face and the blue glow under the rib cage is too subtle. And as an aside …..the quality of Testors Dullcoat is not nearly as good as it was a decade ago. The newer formulation continues to give me a semi gloss finish. Oh well.
  15. Hello everyone, here is the third of the quartet, the 77456, Ogre Guard sculpted by Bobby Jackson. Have a good week. 77454, Ogre Clubber, 77456, Ogre Guard and 77455, Ogre Smasher.
  16. Hello everyone, I'm currently working on an Ogre gang and completed the painting on this model last night. This is a 77455, Ogre Smasher sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I swapped the top of its club with that of the 77454, Ogre Clubber. I also added three more skulls at his waist belt. it was all painted with Reaper MSP paint. I will complete the base later since I may add more elements to it.
  17. Just a random assortment of the first painted from Bones V. I sort of cheated...my Kickstarter arrived yesterday but I borrowed these in advance from a friend who got theirs earlier. The Three-Headed Troll: The Zombie Giant: The Cloud Giant: The Cyclops: The Battleguard Golems:
  18. Finally got around to painting some Bones sci-fi... painting the flat panel armor was a new thing for me. Used a mix of Reaper, Vallejo, and Contrast Paint, and some washes here and there..
  19. This one has been on the desk for a long time. I really like the sculpt, but the cast is a pain as I find most of the older human sized Bones models. The Face was atrocious. Luckily he has a big hat. The photos are washed out but give a good idea of how he looks. He is too shiny for my tastes as the newer Testors Dullcote doesn’t seem to work as good as it used to. Unsure how I ended up going from a coal black duster to green, other than I had too much green paint out for the Marines I was trying to get off the shelf of shame. One down and thousands to go! 😀
  20. Bad photos, bad Bones cast, and tabletop paint job of Balto Burrowell the Gnome Wizard. Painted this one up as my sons kid character in hero kids. Fuego is a young kid who can cast some fire spells and has survived three adventures and he was on his own in the last one. I am really beginning to loath these older human sized minis, but this is the closest I had to a human child for his character. Fairly simple base coat, washes, and highlights. I was having a lot of problems with my skin tone paints being too thin (even after several minutes on the vortex mixer). I guess
  21. So here they are. The Ogre Squad. You can see the WIP here. I love how nonchalant and casual this guy looks. especially when compared to this guy. The oldest of my ogres. Metal and unfinished for years because I was just never happy with him. another angry ogre fond of the face(s) on this guy and also the pig. The rope on the barrel was a little frustrating though. It had a mold line right down its length and even though I wasn't doing much line cleaning for these guys that was both a hard one to fix and a hard one to
  22. My waste paint receptacle for my ogre squad. Nothing special or exciting but he's done too. probably his best side here. This side no so much. I don't know think he translated into bones as well as some of the others like the ogres. But then, he's just a mook so who cares. Oops! Looks like I hurt his feelings. He'll feel better when he's amongst his metal brethren. He has a much better base than they do.
  23. A dumpster. I started painting it as part of Aaron Lovejoy's blending class. Then had a ton of fun weathering it.
  24. after doing the bugbears I figured why not try something a little bigger, how about some ogre's, unfortunately most of the ogre's were sold out in the reaper store and ended up getting this piece which at the time didn't know I already had.
