Jake is looking for someone who enjoys Halloween movies as much as he does! Jake was originally released as a special edition figure for Halloween 2015. He was sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. Since Reaper Miniatures has re-released some of the unavailable Bonesylvanians for Halloween2021, I thought I would share some additional views of the ones I painted, as well as the colours I used. (Note that these figures are metal and sold individually. Not all of the Bonesylvanians originally released in 2014-2015 were made into Bones plastic versions.)

Hi again, everyone! Okay, so I know I was promising a good WIP thread, but I managed to finish this adorable little chibi up so fast that it would not have made for a very good thread. The next mini will be WIP material! I actually started on this mini last ReaperCon, where I used her as a demonstration miniature for my chibi painting class, and I ended up liking the results enough that I actually came back to her after all these months (while waiting for some supplies to arrive for a bigger project!). I simply love chibi minis, and the Reaper chibis are fantastic to work with! Now I just eagerly await the upcoming release of the fantasy-themed Bones chibis! Thanks a bunch for looking!!!

Had picked this one up a while back and after a priming frenzy recently where I brushed a grey gesso mix over a bunch of cleaned up minis, I had him ready for paint. Pretty happy with how he's turned out, especially as my first mini of the year. Think I'm going to try and finish off the Bonesylvanians set if I can. (Note: This was a special edition mini in metal only that Ive not seen again since I picked it up.)

Here's my take on this cute little guy. I tried to do more glazes on him than the way I normally paint, and his eyes are violet, which I think came out ok. Wishing I'd been able to get the huge mold line off his head but oh well. He's still adorbs.

Finished off this little guy as a break from other projects. Fun figure. Experimenting a bit with my brush on this one. Like how it turned out with some of the textures and colors, but not 100% if it captured well enough on camera. Think I need to build a mini lightbox to shoot my figs in.

Recently getting back into miniature painting, and decided to start off with a few bones pieces. Ordered this lip fella from Reaper and decided to knock him out around Halloween. Going to put a sealant coat over it and add spot gloss on the blood effects, for now it's all painted highlights. Any suggestions or advice always welcome. JG

Hello all, I've been having a great time with my first stab at chibi - so much so that I decided to stop lurking and post something. I painted up Lou, Max, and Tish here in about a night each, and found them to be welcome departures from more time consuming work. Hope you enjoy - C&C welcome.

Well because I Metalchaos has been posting his great paint work on these guys, I thought it was time to finish up a few more that I had started already. Bart was sitting there with his skin base coated. So I started working on his eyes and then threw down some paint to block in the shadow's of his skin. the start of another of too many WIP's:

Here's 01539, Gil the Chibi Sea Monster aka Chibi Tiik, Special Edition Bonesylvanian Figure sculpted by Julie Guthrie. I converted this one so he will look like a deep sea monster more than a swamp monster. The idea for the modification came to me after seeing a psychedelic painting of the Creature from the black lagoon. The light effect on the face inspired me to convert Gil into a Tiik "deed sea monster" like creature with the light from his lure lighting up its face. So was born Chibi Tiik. Here's the link to the Converting/Painting WIP. I hope you'll enjoy. As always, comment and critics are very welcome.

Ok, so 01539, Gil is next on my Bonesylvanian painting frenzy. I'm wondering if I should; 1- Paint him the traditional green scheme like shown on the first picture. 2- Go for a more psychedelic scheme of color like shown on the second picture. 3- Go for a conversion, and add a bioluminescent lure on its head like an abyssal fish to make him look like a Chibi Tiik. Not excluding going wild with colors and trying my hand on OSL. What do you think?
