  1. Greetings! Boys..... Get your guns. I'm a raisin' a posse! Yeeeehaaaw! Thanks for looking!!
  2. This is Reaper's 14184: Bloodseeker Vampire, Necropolis Solo, sculpted by Matt Gubser. There isn't a WIP thread. I think he's just supposed to be some vampire mook foot soldier. I was scrolling through the Reaper catalogue looking for vampires and this one looked kind of interesting and dynamic without any fancy armor or angst. I especially liked that expressive cape. This was also an experiment in painting with a subdued palette. So many of my figures get so bright ... I thought I'd try something with mainly earth tones. Comments and critiques are welcome, as always. (After I took these pictures I realized I had gotten a little silver paint on the black edge of his base. It's been fixed.)
  3. A ranger from Darksword that my winning Patron chose for their commission prize this quarter. A really fun model, and exquisitely sculpted. The face is phenomenal. I also need to adjust my white balance. Everything is coming out a bit flat and on the red end.
  4. Another set of minis painted as a learning session for the girlfriend. Basing isn't done.:
  5. Hello everybody! I'm looking to paint one of my dragons in a metallic brown color. So I'm trying to figure out which of Reaper's metal paints are the most brownish. It looks like 9049 Ancient Bronze, 9125 Scorched Metal, or 61132 Drillbit Metal might be what I'm looking for? Normally I'd go to my FLGS to compare colors side by side. The sample pics on the site don't always capture the color though. For example my Old Bronze looks quite a bit different the what I'd expect from the online picture. Unfortunately the store here doesn't carry all the Reaper colors. So does anybody happen to know which of the metallic paints would be the most brownish (least orangish) in color?
  6. I lost the thread, someone asked about browns on the colour wheel. They are very dull (desaturated, I think) oranges and yellows. And now you know.
  7. Second miniature of the New Age of Miniature Painting at the Hellcow Household! I'm going to come right out and say it - I am pretty darned pleased with how this guy turned out. All of the little things I tried here, imo, worked just like I wanted them too with the sole exception of that headstone - I shouldn't have done the 'dipping' technique on it as I was unable to get the pale surface color I wanted. Oh well - now that there is a little dullcote on it I can clean it up later!
