  1. I did this guy in January for the ‘23 RCL. I love me my old school monsters, and having the posable metal appendages was fun. Comments and criticisms are welcome! Rraahrrr!
  2. Scale 75 Instant Colours over black and white sketch.
  3. One of the bugs that always bothered me about the old site was how my shopping cart was never persistent, i.e. when I put something in my shopping cart and left it there, my cart would be empty when I came back a day or more later. I so looked forward to the new site coming out! Finally, I'd be able to shop, add a few minis to my cart, and when I reached the fre shipping level, fire off an order. Well, this still doesn't seem to be the case. I added several minis to my cart yesterday, and today my cart is empty. Is this such a hard issue? Is it working as designed? Is it not the best way to function? To think of all the minis I would have bought had they but persisted in my shopping cart!

  5. Earth Tremor. Design by MMM ( Mini Monster Mayhem) 3D printed on Elegoo Mars. Base from Micro Art Studios. Part of my Lost World Project WIP Here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/page/165/#comments Pics with and without my Jungle Backdrop Photoboard. To give an impression of it's size I let Reaper's Angelica Fairweather meet the lovely wonder of Nature...I'm not sure if she's excited about it. First some pice of the base, since that one will be obscured by the Worm.
  6. Here is my take on the Bones 4 Grubs from the Fan Favorites Expansion. I really wanted to try out Michael Proctor's dot texture method, and I had these two primed and ready so I went for it! Someone on facebook called them Evil Croissants, and now that's all I can think of when I see them.
  7. Greetings! I envisaged the prarie tick queen as a monstrous bloodsucker so I gave her a red bloated body. The markings on the body are meant to be blood vessels inside her but I think I made them too dark. Thanks for looking!!
  8. Getting back to painting, after a brief break to take care of some other things. This was my first attempt at a non-humanoid/skeleton, so I had trouble judging the proper size for the striations on the carapace (which is to say that they're generally too short and thick ), but it was fun to try doing a different material effect. As usual, more pictures and thought process at my blog: link Looking back at it now, I should've shaded more of the flat area of the red and done more to separate the body from the ground. The eyes are a bit sloppy, too, but they're so damn small that I'm amazed at how cleanly others have painted them. There's also an ugly gap between the Bones base and the actual base, though that's because I'd overestimated the strength of the bond (using just PVA and spackle) and broke it off, and then I just superglued it back in place as closely as I could without adding any more filler. On the plus side, I think the blood stains and the white "reflection" lines on the red areas both added nice touches without being overpowering or garish. C&C welcome
  9. Hi All, Presenting my new WIP - Cadirith, Demonic Colossal Spider! I haven't decided on a colour scheme or anything yet but I've been Googling images of tarantulas, arachnids & insects for inspiration. Anyway, this leggy beast should look something like this after assembly: On this model, there is a large void underneath the abdomen & I was unsure whether to fill it in or not. I decided to go ahead & do it as it looks a bit weird from the sides otherwise, also It should help to give it a bit of weight or balance. I started by filling the majority of the hole with green stuff: After drying, I mixed up some Millliput (which I much prefer to sculpt in) & then applied & sculpted the outer case of the abdomen in 3 sections: Finally, after an hour or so of drying time I sculpted in a basic hair texture by dragging lines in the putty with a pointy tool using the surrounding areas as a reference guide: I'm generally not super confident with sculpting but I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. Anyway that's it for now, back soon with some actual painty stuff!
  10. So I finished this guy up in between working on the couple of other WIPs I have going. I'm pretty happy with how he turned out. I didn't spend as much time on this one as I normally do for highlights and details. I definitely stole the idea for the blue eyes off the painted picture on the reaper store. The base is a secret weapons lava base. Instead of lava I gave it some rusty pools of water using realistic water.
  11. I painted these up awhile ago and finally got them varnished. No blog post as these were painted before the blog was started.
  12. I forget the name of the type of devil or demon this is. One demon down, a lot to go.
  13. I just found out about this a few hours ago, and would invite everyone to read the article that explains this security threat far better than I can: http://www.cnet.com/news/heartbleed-bug-undoes-web-encryption-reveals-user-passwords/ And here's the list of affected sites, as of April 8th, 12:00 UTC: https://github.com/musalbas/heartbleed-masstest/blob/master/top1000.txt As far as I can understand it, sites that use/have used versions of OpenSSL 1.0.1 through 1.0.1f (inclusive) have a vulnerability in them that can easily allow hackers to gain access to sensitive information. A lot of sites use OpenSSL for encryption, so this is rather serious. Fortunately, not all sites that use OpenSSL are affected, though those that have had this vulnerability at some point may still be hackable if they do not update their certificates and users change their passwords (after the certificate has been updated). This is as far as I understand it as a lay person. Forum members of the technically savvy persuasion, please feel free to chime in with any additional information/clarification. From my programmer brother-in-law, if you are using Chrome, the way to see when a site's certificate was updated, click on the green lock icon at the far left of the URL bar, then click the Connection tab. Click the "Certificate Information" link, and look at the "Valid from" dates. If it lists today (April 8th) as the start date, it's been updated. If not, don't change your password yet; wait until the certificate has been updated. Hopefully the site will contact you to let you know when it's safe to do that. Again, any additional information or insight would be much appreciated! :) Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
