Here is my take on the Bones 4 Grubs from the Fan Favorites Expansion. I really wanted to try out Michael Proctor's dot texture method, and I had these two primed and ready so I went for it! Someone on facebook called them Evil Croissants, and now that's all I can think of when I see them.

These were a couple recent projects, so happy with how they came out, can’t wait til they make it to the table...I particularly like the folds on the worm.

Trying to keep with the idea of themed topics, here's my latest finished beasts with too many darn legs, including that bane of Muscle-Wizards everywhere, the dread Roper. I had to dig out and resculpt a bit of the eye on that one, so I hope it came out alright.

So here is the treat I got with my Reaper order last week, along with a couple of relatives: Strahd, a Warhammer Fantasy hero, and Reaper's own classic Vampire, 03248. I like the flesh on that last one the best; I might have to go back and repaint the others. Dark Elf triad, final high-light mixed DE high-light mixed with the Shattered Bone 9273 that came with my order. Once started on the Halloween theme, I had to keep going with Pumpkin Horrors, 03356. I used the Reaper HD Burning Orange, hit it with a brown wash, high-lighted with the Pumpkin Orange 9270 that came with my order. Oh, and the hats are high-lighted with the Nightmare Black 9280 from the same. No bases on these as they will (probably) never be used in a game; they might end up in a diorama someday. I really enjoyed painting these. I got Rotpatch with my order, so I have more evil pumpkin painting in my future. And some older stuff I had to dust off. From left to right, an old AD&D banshee from Ral Partha, a old Ral Partha miniature that Iron Wind Metals still sells, a Mithril Miniatures figure, and my first crack at the Bones Ghost. And finally, the beastie that will eat the PCs in my next D&D session. Not really Halloween, but in the ballpark. Oh, and in the back ground is a Games Workshop Garden of Mor I recently painted up. A fairly quick paint-up. The dragonlance party is soon to go through the Sla-Mori, and although we don't have a giant slug (yes, I know we could get one in a variety of places), we do have a carrion crawler that I've wanted to paint for a while. It's slimy and gross enough to stand in for a slug, so now it got painted. This is actually the P-65 version, which is to say it's absolutely no different than the regular version (unless you eat it, but if you eat this mini I'd be upset with you, which should be the more immediate concern than lead poisoning). Again, it was quickly done (likely no more than five hours of work, so a lot of the transitions are totally rough). It's also one of the first minis I've worked on while at work, which is kinda exciting. I get an hour for lunch, so my cubicle has a corner with paint stuff, and I typically take half an hour to eat and half an hour to paint. Good times. I like the color, I'm happy with the fade from green to pink (holy crap, complimentary colors don't want to fade cleanly! They just wanna be brown...who knew?) on the tentacles. The transparent effects on the slime carpet are...a valiant effort, I guess. And he looks good on the table, so that's the real goal. C&C welcome and appreciated!
