  1. Here is a Bones inspired kickstarter that I think my fellow painters will appreciate, a travel and display case for your mini. Mini Monument https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/minimonument/mini-monument?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=mini%20monument Thanks for looking!
  2. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/armycase/a-case-miniature-wargaming-carrying-display-case?ref=category_newest Tired of models breaking after storing them in foam trays inside big and clumsy carrying cases? Look no further, A-Case+ is here!
  3. I got my swag bag in the mail, and there's the long hard plastic case as part of the goodies. I meant to look up the manufacturer online last night and spaced it. Anyway, what is this thing designed to hold?
  4. How do others carry their minis? For my Reaper and other brands I use a 6 tray tackle box. My 40K figures I use a different style case. I however I love the trusty tackle box. I disassembled mine and lined the trays with foam sheets.
  5. We just launched our Kickstarter for a brand new Ultra Clear Variant of the Xcase, Expandable Transport and Display. Now the XCase not only can transport your figures but it can show them off as well as many much less versatile options. Check it out. <iframe src="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/activemindsgames/xcase-ultra-clear-expandable-miniatures-display-ca/widget/card.html?v=2" width="220" height="420" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>
  6. So I think this should probably go in the show off section: So last year, after working at a spice export company for ten years, in management's ultimate wisdom, they closed down our office and moved it to two different offices, one in California and one to Chennai, India. I got a new job in a different industry, so all's well that ends well. One of the perks I did end up was this display case that they used to show off spice samples. I've had it in my basement for quite a while now, but a few weekends ago I finally found a cheap piece of furniture to put it on, so last night built the shelves I got from Super Duper Target and filled it full of my painted stuff. Here it is with an angle to the little area I slavishly paint away at And a closer view
  7. Need somewhere to keep my dwarf army. Thought to build LED underground small garrison fort/outpost. Will have 4 floors Magnetized bottom floor for large models And will try to stuff as much detail as I can. Began with a wooden simple frame, and 2" PinkFoam. Was debating to build up all details and then paint it at once, or paint it in pieces and install them into the box as I go. Do to the nature of the LED lighting, and much uncertainties with LED lighting, I decided to craft it piece by piece instead of all at once. Also, I do not have a good way to cover very large, hard to get to, very detailed area with coats of paint very efficiently, thus will take slower path. Have some plans how to dress up the outside but want to leave that part for last.
  8. I was with everyone that the mini cases from the first kickstarter were awesome, but the spaces were too small for a lot of the figures. I was thrilled to see them offer cases with larger spaced foam inserts in Bones 2. So my KS order shipped and both cases were missing. I emailed Reaper and they replied back that they would get the figure cases out to me. Today I finally received the replacement figure cases, and they have the exact same inserts as the first KS. Did I miss an update somewhere that said they were going to stay with the same dimensions as the Bones 1 inserts? Or did I just get REALLY unlucky and get my case order borked twice in a row?
  9. Splurch

    The Case

So, spacing issues aside for the case, most of the spots in the foam for my case is extremely sticky around the bottom where they glued the two pieces of foam together, a few of the bones I have stuck in unpainted to see what will fit stick to the glue. This naturally has me concerned about sticky painted figures in. Has anyone had to deal with foam with this problem before? If so, how did you fix it?
  10. A kickstarter for one of the fanciest mini cases I've ever seen. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/819121569/tablewartm-mini-case?ref=search A bit over engineered and complicated for my needs, but some here might find it useful.
  11. Hi folks, So, I'm a bit nutty about, well, containers, and I really like the Bones minis briefcases I got with my Kickstarter. a) Uh, it looks like the foamcorps.com guy has some personal issues blah blah orders aren't being fulfilled. I think I want to get some different trays for my cases (a paint tray, some of the bigger figs trays), but that up-top message doesn't fill me with a ton of confidence. What's the deal and/or should I place an order? b) Has anyone gone through a vampire box and figured out which minis fit in which little slots? I picked up 3 cases, and I think this is how the loadout should work case 1: 1 paint tray and 1 1.5" FCR006 (for paints and large figs) case 2: 2 1.5" FCR005 trays (for larger than normal figs) case 3: 3 of the trays I got with the case, for all the little guys What do you think? Should that work? Or should I just go to work with the trays I've got and a hobby knife because the site/store is toast?
