Here is Tawnyll the Catfolk Wizard (Reaper Metal SKU 3933), painted in brighter colors than I normally use. His eyes look derpier in the pictures than in hand, all in all happy with how he turned out.

This was the last mini I finished painting in 2019, I finished it around 10 pm on New Years Eve. This is also my first Chibi, I painted her very close to the box art, but I didnt quite get the right shade of light blue, and her hair is more golden rather than pink in the art. Still happy with her.

Another delightful sculpt from Oathsworn Sensible Shoes line, the Tabaxi Monk/Mage/Bard (SS38). Had some trouble settling on the color scheme, so she sat half painted for quite a while.

This year is the year of giving miniatures as birthday gifts to the friends I game with. One of these fine fellows--my oldest and dearest friend--has a birthday in a couple weeks. He loves magic-users and is obsessed with Harry Potter, so I painted up a 25th anniversary Domur as a classic "Gandalf the Grey" style wizard for his present: Tried to layer the flames to give some interesting and pleasing texture. Let me know how I did. Also, given his love for all things Potter, I did my best to modify Domur's spellbook to a more familiar book cover... I'm actually surprised I could keep the brush steady enough for it to come across at all similar, to be honest.

These are the Wizkids unpainted pre-primed Elf Sorceresses (SKU WZK72606). I painted these up in April, just got around to adding basing and taking photos. For the price I think they are great, but they are definitely not as nicely detailed as the renders. I decided to paint one up in a druidic color scheme. I had issues with her face, since the faces are true scale, not heroic. Not my best face, but its for tabletop, so it will do. Also her hand didn't have any finger definition, so I painted it as a knitted mitten.

Hay there haven't posted in a wile, my store is under renovation so I haven't been able to work on stuff lately. I was working on a half orc anti paladin but unfortunately I guess I didn't mix the epoxy correctly when I was gluing the figure together and half way threw painting her she fell apart. So instead I was able to finish this first and wanted to share it. This is the 60059 Harrower, in my mind she is standing at the edge of a cliff channeling magic getting ready to attack what ever is below her. I wanted to try something different with the magic effect so I tried we blending colored washes into different metallic colors and I like the result I got, I then decided to go with a some what anime style theme to the rest of the figures paint scheme. I have included both 2 work in progress photos as well as 2 taken after final assembly. I have no idea why the two final assembly photos are so dark, but the color in the work in progress is much closer to what it actually looks like in person. As always feed back is welcome, please keep in mind I don't normally paint small detail like what I did on the cards and I am working to improve my line size and consistency. Funny how at an early stage of painting things get really messy, then eventually come together. This is where I'm at now, having come from this: which is a photo of the metal version, though the one I'm painting is plastic. The details survived surprisingly well for a first-generation Bones casting. I wanted to get this started before I was too far along and just shot with my built-in webcam that does not like to shoot macro. Better photos when I don't feel so rushed. I feel I might be oversharing a fair bit here.

So, I took a break from NMM practice and decided to do female skin. I had a great deal of problems getting the light and shading right. And it still looks a bit off but I am gonna call it quits now and post it up here. C &C welcome.

So I'd been working on these for a while now, but didn't post them because they were gifts for some folks and didn't want them to accidentally see them before they got them. First up is the Moe, Larry and Curly three stooges ogre from Ral Partha, the one that Partha was ordered to cease and desist producing because of using the stooges' images without permission. The next one is Ral the Caster, which was based off one of their casters back in the day. They also used that figure in a catalog or two to show size comparisons with other models. The last one is a female dwarf, to my knowledge probably their first female dwarf character, which was only released very briefly and there was never any photo of her in any catalog. She only showed up as a general line description in the catalog and soon ceased to be.... Anyhows, hope you all enjoy!

Here she is, the last of the hobbits (and gnomes) I started during the January Bones Beauty Pageant. Olivia, "halfling" could maybe be a druid, or a wizard. At any rate, she a non-thief hobbit female. Many times when I start one of these things I think, "Oh, I should try painting in subdued colors and earth tones." Hah. So anyway, here's the world's least camouflaged hobbit druid. Or most ivy-loving wizard. Or something. I love that she has a loaf of bread in her sling of scrolls and books.

He was painted for the January Bones Beauty Pageant. He looks a little more old school than the other figures in the pageant. His features looked to me like he could be well painted dark. I see some sloppy areas in the photos. Ah, well.

Cassie is the last of the half dozen Reaper Bones I painted for the January Bones Beauty Pageant with the theme "little people." I had a batch of metal halfling figures I had been looking for an excuse to paint anyway, and I did them as well (Show Off threads to come). She was another figure I looked at and saw with eyes shut, concentrating. When I looked up D&D and Pathfinder gnomes I found references to jewel-colored hair, but also to jewel-colored skin. She gravitated towards a Drow-like coloration of blue-grey skin and white hair. I find her paint job a little rough; I worked fast to finish these by the Beauty Pageant deadline. One thing I did find time for was the little jug on her left hip; I painted it up like a Greek vase.

Hey there all, This is my first time painting a miniature; I have always wanted to do it and just never did. So finally a group of my friends and I set up a game of Pathfinder and I needed a mini for my character. This presented the perfect opportunity for me to try my had at painting a miniature. I tried out a few different techniques, layering, drybrushing, oil wash and like the final product. Any constructive criticisms would be appreciated. Cheers all, Will

I painted her up for my Aasimar White Mage Arcanist in Pathfinder. I was worried having too much bright red, so added some copper. Really wish I didn't. Live and learn. Perhaps when I get better, I'll get another one and give it another go, if she doesn't get permanently killed.

I reached my goal of painting 100 miniatures in 2014 by completing these 2 miniatures from Reaper: Magnus the Wizard of Hope (SKU 1402) Willow Greenivy (SKU 3682) I painted them up as a pair, using common color scheme.
