  1. Here I will paint the inhabitants of the world beneath us. You will find Drow, Myconids, Beholders and all sorts of cave dwelling creatures here. I might also try my hand at some terrain or buildings. Some stuff that awaits painting:
  2. This was my entry for the quarterly contest. I decided to paint him as though he was in a cave with maybe some luminescent crystals or mushrooms. I love the sculpt and will probably eventually get another to paint "normally". Or maybe not since I have hundreds of other minis to paint!
  3. My first time posting to this forum, please let me know if I misstep :p Reaper Bones Black: 44002 Rock Troll I added a more rocky base using rock and some plastic crystals carved from leftover plastic sprue. Also added some more crystals to his elbows and side. The elbows were just because I thought it would make it look more menacing but the one on his side was because of a huge hole leftover from the moulding process. To take care of assembly lines I used some of the rock I cracked apart for the base. I still have the belt and pouch to do, along with the base and some smoothing if blends in his muscles. Feedback and CC most welcome!!!
  4. My Crystal Troll finally (almost) done. Really happy with the result. As a final touch i'm gonna try som resin water pool on the forward corner of the base. The was specially swaed off for this porpuse. Anyway hope U like GRtzz
  5. This is the lovely miniature I received from Pineapple for the Summer exchange. It is a bit late but Pineapple had to start over when parts off the first mini were pilfered and lost. This is the second one and I must say the wait was well worth it! The basing is well done with a scratch built stone wall to frame the Troll Champion. The skin tones, although unexpected is just perfect for the mini and the touch of Orange I usually request appear in the hair/horns and finger/toe nails! The combination is perfect! Without further preamble here are what you all want to see... The Pictures! I am adding this to my display cabinet as I post this! Thanks Pineapple
  6. This one has been sitting on my desk begging to be finished for awhile now. After taking the pics I fiddled with the face and changed the color of the stained wood to a walnut which I like better. I'll try to get a photo of that up at some point. I had a wip on this with all my colors and process but the evil empire of photobucket ate the pictures. I used some of the bright skin triad and for the shadow colors corporeal shade. The basework is made from the firm sculpey (the gray type,) a stick and etched brass foliage. The spider shield and barrel are from reaper's bones line. The crystal I did with a few real ones and then just made the rest out of sculpey. I had fun with the idea of someone emerging from shadow so painted the back with the shadow colors and then blended the front to back which gave me a very nice green I used also on the foliage. I made that using a combo of chestnut brown, corporeal shade and linen white. Enjoy! C&C welcome and feel free to ask any questions! I can try to dig up some of the old photos, but having lost my hard drive, it may take time to find the right SD card. Also, I have clearly been playing too much Skyrim...
  7. So are those tumors on his back or is he multiplying like a Gremlin. More trolls in Bones 3 please.
  8. Well it only took about 8 months but I finally finished it. This is a present for my sister, was going to be Christmas but instead now it's a birthday. The dwarf is from Center Stage and the elf is from Feeblades. You can see the WIP here. Didn't get to work on the elf as much as I would have liked, he's got about half the amount of time into him as the dwarf but since I painted them up six months apart I was able to use some of the improved (ie quicker) techniques so while it was half the time it's not quite as noticeable (though I really need a few more hours). The only real place I'm not happy is the elf face, I had some primer issues and I should have stripped and started over Click for a much larger photo.
