hi all, it seems appropriate that i am sharing a couple of flumphs on valentines day, loveable little critters that they are. flumph love! so, check out the nice pair of flumphs, for your viewing enjoyment. i found these much maligned but adoreable critters to be a conceptual challenge. i eventually went with their current incarnation because of castability and their adherence to the concept art from the tome of horrors. I realize they are not the most classical vision of the flumph but i think they are cute. it was quite an honor to depict this iconic/notorious monster in miniature form. anyhow, happy valentines day. may your two flumphs beat as one.

yet another sculpt for the Tome of Horrors Complete. this one was done in a very short time frame (for me), but i really enjoy how it came out. i was going for a blend of the art from the original fiend folio (laugh if you will, but that book is a favorite in my collection) and the ToHC art. the two complemented each other very well. the end result is UBER OLD SCHOOL. now, i have to warn you: the pictures are a bit dodgy. the lean and combination of glossy and matte materials made him tough to photograph. i have found that greens in general are tough because they lack contrast. ah, well, live and learn. Edit: 30mm base and a bonus pic & 1982 fiend folio art: what does the babbler say? "blablopredububrubaprawrrawrrawrr" P.S. let me know if you guys are getting sick of seeing all of my greens. I haven't had time to paint lately so it is what I have to share.

Some tabletop Lemures from Reaper Bones II and Center Stage miniatures. In D&D 5th Edition, the lemure is probably the wimpiest monster in the whole book, I think a standard goblin can kill at least 20 of them. Reaper Bones 77326: Center Stage Miniatures 003:

Hi all, Here is my painted lurker above. CSM was kind enough to give me the first crack for my very own sculpt. this is a production copy in metal; it is big and solid. to give you an idea, he is mounted on a 50mm base, and the humanoid skull is to scale. there a few more picks in the ToHC KS update #73 https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/centerstageminis/tome-of-horrors-complete-28mm-heroic-scale-miniatu/posts/756565#comments overall I am happy with how the lurker turned out, from start to finish, but being able to paint it taught me some very important lessons about what i liked about my own sculpt and what i didn't. there are some mistakes, ill admit, and overall i think this was the most imperfect of the sculpts i have made so far. But, hey, it is a learning process and i still think it worked out well as a project. i can't help but be happy to see him completed, lurking on the shelf, waiting for some foolish PC who doesn't check the ceiling before stepping in a room...... I always appreciate comments and criticisms, they are great motivators. thanks for looking!
