Check it out, you can buy in a wide variety of ways, be if from the individual figure to large armies in bundles and packages. The majority of this was sculpted by Tom Meier, and all the new pieces were sculpted by him as well. Lots of visual images and aid to help you decide what you'd might like to snag. I'm biased as a long time fan of both Partha and Meier, I'm definitely going to grab a good number of individual pieces on this one! EDIT: Added some photos of the new sculpts from Mr. Meier:

and it's day one after the grand Kickstarter Bones 6 and time to pull my eyeballs away from the ever changing Kickstarter screen and back to my version of reality. So here's one more figure I've got, painted a couple years back, but once again, as it hadn't been released, never showed him off. Well, he's out and about in the public, so here he is a very small Dwarves Necromancer, sculpted by Dave Summers three or four years back: I really like how his face is half a skull and half a living dwarf. It I would have been thinking years back, I would have maybe painted a side of his beard a lot lighter, but oh well, not going to worry about it now. Anyhoos, enjoy!

So from my painting fervor, this is the third miniature I finished this last week, and I think my favorite. I actually took pictures of him yesterday to post, but when I looked at the pictures close up, I noticed he actually had a blade of grass on his head, right where his hair part was, so ended up having to re-photograph him. This figure came from the Ral Partha/Iron Wind Metals Chaos Wars Kickstarter and Tom Meier sculpted up two new elves for them, in the 25 mm scale that the other elves were done in (other figures that he had sculpted 30-40 years ago). There was a comparable figure he had done that was also and elf with an axe and shield that some day I'd like to paint as well, but here is his modern version of it. I really wanted to give his hair and skin a pale, ethereal look and wanted the colors too to not be to harsh with the clothing and weapons. I was surprised that he ended up actually being a pretty easy figure to paint, despite the small size. The only difficult part of this mini in all honesty was his eyes, which Tom Meier kind of made "proportionate", so they weren't exaggeratedly large like lots of figures are sculpted with. This has both good and bad parts. The good of course is you have a beautifully proportionate figure, the bad of course if you have to see what you can do with this little pindrops of eyes. I think I actually managed to do okay with them. I considered eye brows but then in the end decided against it, figuring in theory they would be such a light color they would hardly show anyway. And to give you a size of this miniature, here's a comparison shot against a US quarter: After painting this figure, it really puts me in the frame of mind that I'd like to paint more of Meier's contemporary stuff, like what he's done for Dark Sword for example.

So I've been working on these for a while now, but I think they are at long last finally done. These are two new figures from Ral Partha's Chaos Wars Kickstarter, sculpted in the same size/scale as the other Tom Meier Dwarves that were being remastered. The first one in chain and a halberd: and the other one in full plate and an axe: These made me work a lot with my non-metallic metals, and of course this is my most challenging aspect of painting until now, so hopefully it looks more or less decent. Eventually I want to paint the other two dwarven riders they put out, one of which is a dwarven chick. I really like these sculpts, sculpted by Dave Summers, who does all those great anthropomorphic Dark Sword sculpts as well. Anyhow, enjoy!

So, here are two miniatures I just got done painting and basing last night. I ended up painting these two as well as another figure (front with a link for nudity) at the same time because I was starting out with the same skin colors, beginning with Tanned Skin. One thing I did with the female pirate's sword and metal was I used Ashen Blue as my base color, then used deeper blues, then dark elf skin and shadow, then black, and worked upwards with lighter greys and finally white. With the bases, which I also do very simply, I did the pirate bases starting with a base of blonde hair, then terran khaki. The thought was to make sand, but who knows how well that worked out. Good evening all, so I finished these two this morning, that come from an old Ral Partha set called I think Dwarven Steam Cannon, that was resurrected in a recent Ral Partha Kickstarter. I don't have the actual steam cannon, but I do have two of the three dwarves that operate the contraption, which are here: I made them pretty much the same color of uniform, because they are running the same big machine, just varying essentially their hair color. They do both have eyes and they are painted, but they are under those furrowed hairy brows. Here they are together: There is a third engineer, who is actually working, he's got a shovel and he's picking up coal, but that's a figure I just don't happen to be the proud owner of. I'll have to pick that one up one of these days to complete my little trio of dwarves. Remember that these are old school Partha, so they are pretty small sized figures. They probably take up about 1/3 to 1/4 the lead of a modern dwarf these days and are probably about 20 mm tall. I really do like these figures, as they are some of the few non-bellicose figures from that time, no weapons, just working (even though they are running a cannon). Anyhow, simple paint jobs, and I hope you enjoy them!

I had some painting time at lunch this week, and didn't take anything special to the office to work on, so this is what I pulled out of what I already had stashed there. These are old Ral Partha orcs, as recently put back into production as part of their 2015 Chaos Wars Kickstarter. I'm trying to make a bit of a push to get those units on the table for demo games; my Ral Earth collection includes quite a few vintage units that are out of production, so I don't like to use them in rules demos...I feel like they ought be be done with available figures. I used the same white/black/red colors on all the shields, hoping that gives a unified feel to the group, even though everyone gets his own unique shield.

So here are my last in a series of umpteen dwarves. This last set I think I got a little lazy with as I gave them more or less the same colors of capes, but it's kind of a blue and red color scheme I've been trying to hold on to any way. Anyway, hope you enjoy them!

So as I chug right along, painting these Partha dwarves, my latest two, Elite Armored Dwarf Guards from Personalities and Things that Go Bump in the Night that were also incorporated into the Chaos Wars Kickstarter campaign for Ral Partha. So with this set of two, I actually have a goodly number (I think three) of blue dwarven shields with big empty spaces on them waiting for some art, but not sure when or if I'd ever get around to providing something on them. If I was just working on an individual figures, it probably would be a little easier, but if I put something on them, I might even want them to match. Oh well, something to consider for the probably far-flung future. I must say that with the NMM I've been trying to do, not always happy, but doing it again and again and again is certainly a good way to practice. And ultimately, when figures like these are mostly armor, it ends up being the main part of the figure and really being one color element kind of makes them a little simple. Anyhows, hopefully you enjoy!

So here are my latest three figures, from the old 3-Stage Player Character line and ones that were also included in the dwarven forces for Ral Partha's latest Kickstarter. I thought of doing them as the same character progressively in his career, but didn't quite end up that way, even though I thought I gave the most experienced of the three in the plate mail a bushy white beard! Anyhoos, enjoy! Long live old school!

So with only a few hours to go in the Ral Partha Chaos War Kickstarter, here are the last few dwarves I was able to finish before it comes to an end. I still have a few (eight or so) pending to paint, but I'll get to those as soon as I can. I tried keeping somewhat with the original blue and red theme I was tasked with, and I realize I should have probably put a design on that big blue shield, but just ran out of time. I also wonder if I should have given that guy some eybrows. Believe it or not, that figure has eyes, you just can't see them at that angle. Anyhow, hope you enjoy and if you ever thought you wanted some of these the Kickstarter is still open for about two hours..

Hi there all, so with the Ral Partha Chaos Wars Kickstarter in high gear, ten more days left, I've been painting some more of their figures, and I just finished this Greater troglodyte. I really like these figures as they seem so lizardlike in their poses, much more than a person with a lizard head and tail. Working on a few more with the same color scheme, but this is the first one I got done as he didn't have any armor, just his naked trog body and a sword. I also like their size scaled against other Partha figures. If I saw a troop of these rushing down upon me, I'd probably start running the other way. Hope you enjoy!

Hi guys, Here's another one of the Ral Partha dwarves currently on their Chaos Wars Kickstarter. I think he's referred to as a standard bearer, but with the skull and such, along with just kind of his demeanor I've always thought of him more as a Dwarven Cleric or something similar.

Hi all, so two more of those grand old Ral Partha dwarves, just finished that up last night. This time I've got a hornblower and a drummer getting geared up and going either to war or a concert, not sure which. Hi guys, so with the Kickstarter for Ral Partha having just recently launched, I thought I'd share another one of the dwarves that I've just finished up with recently. This one is a Ral Partha Dwarf, previously unreleased, sculpted by the late, great Dennis Mize. I should really pay more attention to these things, if I remember correctly, he was dated 1979 on the bottom. He's being offered in the Chaos Wars Kickstarter under the Dwarf Characters 25-459. It's a fun little figure, very straight forward and a nice, quick paint. He's just a guy with a shirt, pants, boots and sword. Fun to paint, and didn't take too long at all. Walked into an FLGS and am currently standing in front of this: I don't know what to do: they've got a bunch of the old ChaosWars dragons too. Prices seem to range between 35-45 Canadian. Is that what these are typically going for? Edit. O geese They've got the old Julie Guthrie dueling Dragons set by Chaoswars too.

So here are two more dwarves from Ral Partha's old Fantasy Collectors Series that will eventually be in the next Ral Partha Kickstarter, hopefully coming out sometime this month. A crossbowman and a spearman, nice little figures. Like the last ones I did, they are really pretty small. The square bases they find themselves upon are 20 mm bases.

Hi there, just finished these over the weekend, some old school Ral Partha dwarves from I can't remember what year, but somewhere between 1979 and 1982. I've always had a thing for this set, always enjoyed it as it was an old set of non-military type dwarves, truly "personalities" from a bygone age. I've had a bit of lighting problems with these ones as I seem to have a lot any more, but here are the best pictures I could take:

So here are two new Goblins I just painted from the end of the seventies/beginning of the eighties. Here are two I can show but putting in a link for the other one, because much as Tom Meier's Orcs like to have their dorks hang out, this little goblin has his giblets showing. So I haven't been posting goals, but I have been trying to get some work done. Here's a unit of 12 elf archers (well, eleven archers and a leader), generally intended for Chaos Wars. The figures are vintage Ral Partha Fantasy Collector Series, except for the leader. He's from the Personalities range. All the scultping is Tom Meier's I believe.

So here are the last three orcs I've been working on, some figures from Ral Partha. With the standard bearer, I've only provided one view at an angle because all other views, in classic eighties Partha form, show some orc dork hanging out. Those orcses just don't wear their underwear. Anyhow, I've actually got nine of these painted up, which is quite a record for myself to work on something that is the same theme. Enjoy!

So just got this one done this morning, a Ral Partha Shaman, one of the figures that will be with the Chaos Wars Kickstarter from Ral Partha. I definitely have a spot here on this one that I'm not happy with, but hopefully if I don't glaringly point it out, nobody would notice.

So I keep working through all these wonderful little Partha figures, and here's my last one. Another goblin, this time an archer, sculpted by Tom Meier in the latter seventies probably. One of the other figures Ral Partha was releasing again on their Kickstarter campaign. Hopefully I was able to convey a bit of muted, dirty colors. Enjoy!

So I've been working on these recently, really small fellows, with their respective wolves. I didn't want to go for grey wolves, so tried to make them brown, mangy and dirty looking. Someday later I want to paint some grey wolves and maybe white and black when I have time. They really didn't take too long to paint. Another thing I figured out afterwards is I probably sat them too high on the wolves, but once you actually put them on with Super Glue, there is unfortunately no going back. They are also a bit separated from the wolves, but on those two lunging wolves, hopefully it looks at least like they are bouncing up and down on them. I've put them in at a bunch of different angles. So anyway, hope you enjoy!

So finally have finish the third elf in my little Tom Meier trilogy of the All American elves. Just got this one done and based, and reasonably happy with him. Kind of took forever to choose colors and they are a bit more lively than the other two I did.
