  1. *** Rise Creatures of Chaos !!!!*** *** It's time for Mankind to fall !!!*** A while ago I purchased this one through the Bay of Evil. It is supposed to be the Forged Monkey's bust. I have some doubts though. It was shown as an original, but it came without the original packing. Also I had to remove a lot of flash and needed heavy greenstuffing.. Could be a knock off. However I will paint it.. Started prepping.
  2. Hello again, everyone! I've been really quiet on the forums recently because I have had the awesome honor of getting to paint a miniature for the Reaper collection, and (seeing as this is the first time I've ever done so) I wasn't sure whether I could share my progress without Reaper's permission! Turns out, I was unnecessarily secretive (the miniature has obviously already been released), so now I wanted to share the finished mini with you all! With the exception of some old gaming pieces, I don't believe that I have ever really painted the same miniature to a high level twice, but when Ron asked me to paint the Reaper collection version of my Golden Sophie-winning entry, I had to do it! It turns out that simply having already thought through the way I wanted light to interact with the sculpt saved me a bunch of time, plus the base was simpler, and I didn't baby my blends quite as much, so this mini took a lot less time than the original. I hope, however, that it at least doesn't look like it took a lot less time! All in all, it was neat to revisit a miniature and see the effect of different color schemes on the overall feel of the mini: Thanks a bunch for looking!
  3. This is the model I intend on using for "Rosubian" the sorcerer for my Song of Blades and Heroes warband. He is so much fun, and I'm very happy with him. The basing is liquitex matte medium (for the lava) which was painted, cork and then Golden Blended fibers for the top of the base.
  4. These were a lot of fun, and I have 5 more on deck. The lava/temple bases have been a lot of fun to work through. The first up is Hthark the Unstoppable, from Blood Bowl. he was a lot of fun, and I intend on using him for my "great weapon" version of the bull centaurs. The Bases are a Happy Seppuku base over it into Sculpey, which was broken into shape. The lava is liquitex matte medium layered until the base texture was less visible, then painted. Painted to medium tabletop, with some highlighting. I'm very happy with them. Hthark the Unstoppable
  5. "...And he came upon a dark figure astride a pale horse, the horse was named Pestilence and its rider was Death." Presenting a Chaos Champion of Nurgle from Games Workshop. This is one of the few times where I've known exactly what I've wanted the finished mini to look like before I started painting it, and despite him ending up a bit too purple to be a proper substitute for Death, I'm really pleased with the job I did. As always, any comments or criticisms are greatly appreciated.
  6. I have been doing a lot of sculpting recently and I felt the need to break up all of that putty work with some speed painting. for some reason I got it in my head a few weeks ago that I had to paint some of the classic chaos warriors I remember seeing as a child. I picked up some champions of Slaanesh on the secondary market and the speed painting was just the justification that I had needed ;). I was happy that I actually did manage to finish it this weekend - yes! I stuck to a classic palate for Slaanesh in order to keep the painting fast and lighthearted. I'm looking forward to a few additional chaos models from the same era to round out a warband. These oldhammer pieces are really fun.
  7. I am tired of painting these things, I love the detail, but I have been painting a khorne army for awhile now and it seems I see them everywhere. too much red to much copper. Only 5 more Blood Reavers to go and I am done. oh well BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!!! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!!!!!! still have to base them but the paint is done.
  8. Here's a rendition of the old version of the Despoiler. With Forge World's newer rendition of him (in their Horus Heresy line) it is easy to overlook the older one. For one thing, he's smaller than you would expect from a character in terminator armor- but he fit right in back when he was first introduced... about twenty years ago. For the record, credit for the base belongs to my client. Anyway, here he is:
  9. I bought this mini in the late 80's when I was stationed at fort Bragg. it has been sitting in a box for a long time. I dreaded painting something that I had for so long in it's original condition, afraid I would make a mess of things. now that it is painted it has started to become one of my fav mini's. I think it shows true menace when viewed from the front. please feel free to give ideas on how to make it better. (I know the base is terrible, I will fix it later.)
  10. Here is a project that I really got to get into. My client wanted an Imperial Knight that had turned to Tzeentch. It was to be allied with his Chaos Daemons force, so it did not need to be a Thousand Sons Knight. There is only a little bit of conversion here- the head was swapped out for the head of a High Elf Phoenix. Otherwise, the alignment was all down to coloration. I wend with a blue to purple fade for most of the armor plating- I felt this was right for the god of change, and the bright pink contrasted nicely with that (and also matched a force composed largely of pink horrors). Of course, it isn't right to leave any Imperial Knight mini without freehand, so I made sure to get a lot of the Changing God's iconography all over him.
  11. I'm rather proud of this little set, spent 2 and a half months sculpting it in my spare time. Professionally cast in White Metal.
  12. I had some bits left over after the CMON Not-Conan mini, and decided to use them on a Chaos Marauder. The Axe, head and uh, lobbed-off head are the bits that was left.:
  13. Presenting the Blood Secrator from Games Workshops Age of Sigmar box set. I'm not sure what a Blood Secrator does, but it involves wearing a vest made of skulls and hitting people with a nifty-looking (but undoubtedly highly impractical) quadruple headed axe. Had this guy on 'The Shelf of Shame' for awhile, it's a very nice mini (very 3 dimensional if that makes any sense) but when you have shaky hands the prospect of painting all the bits tucked behind all the other bits is pretty nerve-wrecking! Despite that I think he ended up looking pretty good. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  14. I've been working on some conversions for the new Cultists from Frostgrave. I tried to set them up to pull double-duty as Cult of the Possessed for Mordheim. I really enjoy this kit, I'm going to have to get a second one just for sci-fi conversions...I've used up almost all the parts already.
  15. JackMann

    Chaos Lord

One last guy I finally got pictures of. Chaos Lord from Games Workshop.
  16. Jaws

    GW, Daemonette

I was fairly happy with this one until I took photos. See that I have managed to clot the paint a little much. Don't want to fiddle with her anymore though. The little tree is made from a dried grape-wine. :/
  17. So here is my version of The Well of Chaos: some close ups: The water effect crept up the sides due to surface tension, but not enough for me to worry... WiP here. Thoughts and comments welcome! George
  18. This is a Great Unclean One, a greater deamon of the Chaos god Nurgle. His purview is rot and disease. I've been working on this off and on for the better part of this year; I wanted to do the best job I possibly could on this guy. There are still a few things I could improve, and I missed a mold line or 2; I tried to work those in to the sculpt with my paint job. C&C is very much welcome on this one. A face only a mother could love: And the snake-tongue which actually supposed to be coming out of his mouth. Of course it broke when I tried to get a picture.
  19. Lord Ulthrak from Hasslefree Miniatures. Suprisingly easy to paint with quite nice results.
  20. Since they didn't fit in any of my other recent topics, here we have my newest Nurgle Lord, Rotmeister Gleb Festershire (who is totally not Otto Glottkin):
  21. Hi ! A old Champion of Khorne :)... Il hate red ^^ :
  22. WARNING NUDITY so LINKS. EDIT: Since Photbucket got Evil I linked my Putty and Paint Page here: http://www.puttyandpaint.com/projects/15073 EDITED AGAIN I HAVE A NEW HOSTING SITE> LINKED FOR NUDITY https://postimg.cc/image/rxfnuilx1/ https://postimg.cc/image/4j7oiljf9/ https://postimg.cc/image/hnd8vaj6t/ https://postimg.cc/image/4j7oilyut/ This is my first take on a bust. It's from Kabuki 1/6 scale. Since she's a Not Red Sonja, I gave her warpaint like Conan has. I tried a freehand tattoo, it's supposed to be a stylized Dragon/Snake eating his own tail. I had loads of fun painting her. Here Is my WIP if interested. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/62241-ky-ra-bust-16-kabuki-by-xherman1964/

Hi ! A really quick tabletop paint for gaming :
  25. "Day 1: After observing the strange denizens searching a far-off realm and assisting them in locating their married idols and their pet froghemoth, several have pointed me toward their home as way of thanks, as well as sage advice about not sniffing goblin butt. Whether this is gratitude or a trap, I cannot say. Yet I arrive and remain wary." "Day 2: I have quietly observed the citizens here and they appear to be mostly harmless. It appears that the most respected are the talented and the crazy, both being a powerful combination being in this plane. I ave been decreed to be Newbie, which suits me for now. They appear to worship small figures that they anoint with color, to display among their brethren. This appears to increase their standing among the clan. I have tentatively made contact with them by offering compliments, which they eagerly accept. Things are going well." "Day 3: I have observed a strange thing today: a treasure-laden goblin proclaim a challenge to all others to decorate their future idol of Five-Headed Tyranny within a grueling time period with barely adequate tools. Obviously this is an endurance ritual meant to kill off the weak. This 'Buglips' appears to be an agent of insanity, while She of the Singular Footwear already appears to be planning an innovative stratagem for these trials. They and the other contestants have impressed me thus far, though their favor is not yet secure. As a neutral party I have offered my services as Judge, as my Newbie status has afforded me an aura of impartiality. The challenge is one solar revolution from now, but I am eager to see the glorious plethora of colors that will be expended when it finally happens." "Day 4: I have never seen such a repository of knowledge as this. Centuries of plying their traded has given much experience and talent, and I find myself furiously scribbling down notes as I try absorb their knowledge. To facilitate this I have created a 'Topic', in which I pose a question and the denizens come to lay down offerings of advice. Soon I will have all the secrets of the multiverse, to perform my own application of colors on unsuspecting figures. One a related noted, I have been declared Mostly Harmless, which works in my favor. I will use my innocuous status to continue gathering information and friends here."
