Hi there everyone! Oakydeer here, and I'm a very very new to the world of tabletop RPGS. I'd always heard of the magical game dungeons and dragons but was always intimidated by it and didn't know when or how to start. But a month ago, I decided to take the plunge and gather my friends for our first DnD session, with me as the DM. And... we all became obsessed. So now, here I am, completelly engrossed in the world of tabletop RPGs and eager to start sculpting and painting my own figures! I'm open to any advice from any of you wonderful veterans regarding anything, be it painting and sculpting, to game tips, to a simple friendly hello. Let's be friends! :>

After a rigorous stress test (i.e. pcktlnt and myself) I am happy to announce there is 24/7 voice (and text) chat server available for Reaper forumites. It utilizes the free open source software Mumble. Mumble combines a very light weight voice chat with text chat for free with no ads or other junk. It can be found here: http://mumble.sourceforge.net/ If you want to use the voice functions you'll need a mic. Tips Make sure your mic, headphones etc are plugged in and recognized by your computer before you start Mumble. You can set up nicknames for Chat channels so if your Reaper forum name is taken don't worry you can still make it display in the chat room. Once you start Mumble, run through the setup wizard. If all your hardware is installed properly it should adjust all your settings so you can be heard and hear. DO NOT USE the always on option for your mic. If you are not using headphones, plan on having background noise, or like to sing to yourself while you paint, use the "push to talk option. See ReaperBryan's post on why no singing here If you don't have a mic you can still listen and use the text chat. If you want to provide video I suggest using some sort of livestream service like Twitch.tv *MUMBLE SERVER SETTINGS* Label: Whatever you want it to be Address: 209.239.114.150 Port: 2262 Username: Whatever you want everyone to see in the directory Password: reaperforums It won't ask you for the password till you try to connect. The infographic is realtime so you can use it to check status.

When I first pledged on kickstarter I thought things would go as it was written on the projects page. It turns out alot of projects have huge problems which affects the backers and are late etc What problems have you encountered with ks? mine are: I backed eastern fronts dwarf gladiators which were supposed to be shipped in dec, it now might not be delivered until April http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/607885648/dwarf-gladiators-finely-sculpted-28mm-resin-miniat?ref=live -Eastern front studios originally planed to ship multiple shipments (which wasnt told to backers until it was funded) and then later said that doing that wasnt in the budget and now we are left with no shipping date. I also backed Boss monster (which raised over $200,000) were supposed to be shipped in Feb and now wont be shipped till May http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brotherwise/boss-monster-the-dungeon-building-card-game?ref=search -BM has updated its backers regularly and are doing a print and play version of the game in Feb but sadly they thought the printing of the game would be quicker and now it wont be shipped till May
