  1. My first time painting a chibi figure. Probably not the last. Painting this made me feel happy.
  2. Live: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/cmon/marvel-united/description Blowing through stretch goals as you would expect Story It’s time to become the Heroes you were always meant to be! Designed by Eric M. Lang and Andrea Chiarvesio, Marvel United is a fast-paced cooperative game where players take control of Marvel Super Heroes and band together to thwart the master plans of the most dangerous Villains in the universe. With an all-new visual take by Edouard Guiton, brought to life in fantastic sculpts, Marvel United will challenge you and y
  3. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/impactminiatures/chibi-pony-adventurers-miniatures-2-digital-stl-and-physical/ The Project This is our 12th Chibi miniatures project. Over the last 5 years at conventions, our Pony Chibi from our previous KickStarters are always the most popular figures and we love hearing the happy sounds of people seeing them for the first time in the display cases. Now as technology has greatly changed we wanted to add new ponies and accessories to the model line and now offer them to everyone as digital models to print at home for yourself! The Miniatures
  4. I've been painting up a lot of Starcadia Quest. It only seems fitting to start out with the Star Wars characters. For most of my Starcadia Quest, I went with a Borderlands style- with lots of black lining against bright colors and even black hard edging to create that Borderlandish look. I plan to convert a few Starcadians into Borderlands characters as well. Also, it just seemed right to start out with the Star Wars inspired characters.
  5. Evil has many faces, even when it is kind of cute. Here are some of the generals working under the Dark Consul. They represent the highest caliber of evil in Super Dungeon Explore. This is a set of bosses for Super Dungeon Explore that I painted for a client.
  6. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/impactminiatures/frog-folk-villagers-3d-printable-and-physical-model-chibi/ a new Impact! project offers 12 frog folk either for RPGs (with smaller heads etc) or as Chibis (with larger heads etc) you can buy the minis directly as physical prints or you can buy the STLs if you have a 3D printer of your own Digital Models - You can purchase the STL 3-D Print file for any of the below 24 models for $2 each. 8. I must admit that from all the Bones 4 core set minis, the Chibis were the ones voted "most likely to stay in their bags" when the KS shipment arrived, as superderformed/ chibi models like these are not really my cup of tea. They are way out of my comfort zone to paint, with all that skin, hair and large surfaces needing somewhat smooth transitions that I am not really any good at. But they have grown on me somewhat, especially since I decided to do them even more cartoony in style than I usually do. Themselves being very cartoony and all. They do look much smoother IRL when not magnified
  9. This was the last mini I finished painting in 2019, I finished it around 10 pm on New Years Eve. This is also my first Chibi, I painted her very close to the box art, but I didnt quite get the right shade of light blue, and her hair is more golden rather than pink in the art. Still happy with her.

  11. #119: Monique or to give her full name Monique DeNoir. I don't think she has been made in Bones. There is a 54mm scaled one in metal that has approximately the same pose. I believe she is supposed to be a vampire. I painted her as a drow. ...and all in gloriously sharp pictures! Yay! #117 Almaran #119 Monique from the Small World Heroes subset in the Bones 4 Core set, 2019 Reaper Miniatures Sculpted by Gene Van Horne (?) Made in Bonesium PVC 25mm integral, sculpted base should be available from reapermini.com
  12. #117: Almaran or to give his full name Almaran the Gold, Paladin. The normally scaled one was in Bones 1, but I have not painted it yet. Funny that, I seem to have not painted most of the PC character types from the earlier Bones KSs. I wonder why. ...and all in gloriously sharp pictures! 13. The second of the superdeformed Chibi hero minis from the Bones 4 core set that I have painted, here comes Arnise the Elf Barbarian. Kissed by fire. I have no idea if she actually is meant to be a barbarian or not. Getting that much skin smooth is not an easy task, especially not by drybrushing. ...oh damn I forgot the freckles! Same height, different scale. B4Core#118 Arnise from the Small World Heroes subset in the Bones 4 Core set, 2019 Reaper Miniatures Sculpted by Gene Van Horne (I think!)
  14. I got the chance to paint up some miniatures for a project to bring the Modest Medusa webcomic into the minaitures world. These were all sculpted by Brian Phelps, and I think every one of them sculpts is super cute. I'm going to get to do some more of them for backers, since the project is pretty nicely overfunded. Anyway, here are all of the very cute Medusa minis I painted for them.
  15. A bit of a departure for me today. Chibi, a style formerly known as Superdeformed before Anime became popular in the western hemisphere. I am not particularily fond of Chibi; that superdeformed cutesy manga look that has insidiously permeated the pop culture of today. Sigh. What is the world coming to? Now they also have infiltrated my beloved Bones... During the Bones 4 kickstarter campaign, they offered chibi versions of some of their existing minis as free additions to the core set as social stretch goals, adding them one by one as their target numbers fo
  16. ... The larch? Heh. No, but I want to try something very different from my preferred style in order to branch out and try new things. I recently watched Coco (um... several times) and took a liking to the alebrijes, especially Pepita. I really want Reaper to make a Pepita. So this is my way of showing how fun it could be! The plan: A chibi lion with patterns like the traditional Oaxacan Alebrijes. This means fun bright colors and an attempt at making a piece look like wooden folk art. It can be done! First step, research. ...and

  18. Presenting my Lisa Frank velociraptor! I love him! He just screamed at me to be fun colors! And I have to brag n the green stuff world mushrooms, they're pretty fantastic. He's my painters entry for reapercon; I'm motoring on with all my other entries. I'm interested in what you think, so c&c away!
  19. Drawing inspiration from an old blog post I read somewhere, two of my friends and I bought the Bones 4 core set and Dreadmere, setting up a draft and taking turns picking our favorite models. Here are the four Small World Heroes that I ended up with: Galladon: Sophie: Almaran: Lysette: All together:
  20. Monstro, via @Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/minibossstudios/monstro Don't know anything about this. I see a lot of renders at the moment. But cute chibi monsters. ^.^
  21. Here is a little preview of Lilyana one of our core minis for that set.
  22. Super Chibi Round 4 form Midknight Heroes is now LIVE on Kickstarter. Time to get your chibi on! Please if you can spread the word we would appreciate it. This time around we are packed with a ton of great chibis with characters like Nona the Uni mage, Tenago the Dwarven 1/2 Dragon and Sakura the gang enforcer from Sector 7. Not to mention we have some amazing stretch goals planned including a new bust. Stop by and take a look. Kickstarter Link: https://tinyurl.com/y7kxdjx8 Natakue P.S.take a look at our core characters. 23. Got this out of Impact Miniatures last Kickstarter. The master was 3D printed, and then it was produced via spincast resin. Pretty much zero clean-up, although they use a pretty persistent mold release agent. I washed it with Dawn and scrubbed it pretty well. Primed it with Badger Stylynresin and had a bunch of areas where it flaked off with the slightest touch. Gave it another thorough bath & scrub and re-primed with Badger and this time it got a grip. Base coat and initial highlights are Tamiya paints applied via airbrush. Highlights and details are Reaper and Vallejo. Then tried
  24. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2004599158/chibi-litch-and-evil-minions?ref=discovery About The whole set. Hi, my name is Andrew May. I am a full time sculptor in the wargaming industry. Over the years I've sculpted many, many chibi style figures for RPG games and the like. My own range "Tooth and Sword" (Meridian Miniatures) consists mainly of cheerful animal adventures which got me thing that I should sculpt an evil villain to support the existing zombie figures that I sculpted a while back to pitch them against, and so emerged the evil Litch!
  25. Here's MidKnight Heroes' Damien. I painted him in the color scheme of the Dark Palladin artwork, so that he could find a place in Chibi Kingdom Death. I realized while I was painting him that I'm going to need to pick up a few more of him for conversions. He really does seem like a good starting place for several concepts I have going.
