Off the Bones 4 Fan Favorites expansion, the Hell Hounds. Woof woof. Three surprisingly cute massive hellish hot dogs, with lavacracks and all. And they have spiked collars with a massive ring on the top. And very obviously male. Those are the Dogs' Bollocks! Again, these do look better IRL than in the blown up pictures. Much better, to my eyes at least. How to paint lava-look minis: Start with a stark white basecoat. Drybrush the following colours starting with heavy pressure to lighter pressure with the darker colours: Bright yellow, golden yellow, orange or peachy pink, dark red or wine red, dark brown, dark grey/black, pure black. Use a big, soft brush (such as a make-up brush) and make sure to wipe a lot of the paint off the bristles (more than you think!) and build the colours up gradually to avoid streaking. Be aware that when painting light to dark, they will look wierd and as failures almost up to the very last coast. Keep with it! I did the bases with black flock, as they have burned everything to a crisp. Nice doggies? - I put them on 50mm bases. These are sculpted by Chris Lewis and made in Bones Black PVC. They are currently available from reapermini.com These minis were finished on December 4th, 2020.

44067 Skywing Stormcaller (#605) Pteranodonman! I modelled the paint scheme after a seagull. This one has a South American Prehispanic vibe going on. Probably on account of the headdress. Not the macahuitl at all. No sirree Bob! 32mm base. These are members of the Sauroid Tribes according to the flavour text. (Assuming the "Sauriod" is a typo, and the later "Sauroid" is the correct name). Each of "these warring tribes are highly territorial and will brook no trespassers on their sacred lands", and they constantly battle both amongst themselves and with the warlike Jade Fire Clan orcs. Cross referencing the tribe names in the flavor text with the kickstarter expansion image we find that each model represents a separate tribe: From left to right Skywing, Bloodcrest. Blacktooth, Thunderfoot and Armorback. So that is five distinct tribes with a totalt of one miniature each available ;P These have been released to retail by Reaper, so they have proper SKU numbers. (# in parenthesis are from the expansion image) You are in big trouble now, little man. 44067 Skywing Stormcaller Bones 4 kickstarter, 2019 Reaper Miniatures Sculpted by Chris Lewis Made in Bones Black PVC available from reapermini.com

44065 Thunderfoot Defender (#603) Triceratopsman! Mostly the same colours as the upcoming Triceratops aka Thunderfoot Behemoth. 35mm base. These are members of the Sauroid Tribes according to the flavour text. (Assuming the "Sauriod" is a typo, and the later "Sauroid" is the correct name). 44063 Blacktooth Savage (#601) Tyrannosaurman! Painted in mostly the same scheme as the T-Rex-lookalike Blacktooth Terror I recently painted. Black and red being markers for "evil". He likes to wear thunderfoot skulls as pauldrons. 40mm base. These are members of the Sauroid Tribes according to the flavour text. (Assuming the "Sauriod" is a typo, and the later "Sauroid" is the correct name). 44066 Bloodcrest Smasher (#604) Parasaurolophusman! Just some old-school dino colours for this one. 35mm base. These are members of the Sauroid Tribes according to the flavour text. 44064 Armorback Barbarian (#602) Anklyosaurman! I found a picture of a tortoise with this colouration, so I went with it 32mm base. These are members of the Sauroid Tribes according to the flavour text. (Assuming the "Sauriod" is a typo, and the later "Sauroid" is the correct name). The snake people from the Bones 4 core set "Nagendra" subset. Nagendra would presumably be Reapers name for the Yuan-Ti snakemen of D&D fame that these would be similar to. Since I saw them I had this inspiration to do the snakes as the types that the Kill Bill Deadly Viper Assassination Squad use as code names. Presenting from The Deadly Viper Assassination Squad: #86: Snake Charmer aka Bill I went with a more typical fantasy colour scheme on this one as the code name is not a snake species. I imagine that snakes, being cold blooded (technically they are not actually cold, but poikilotherm which means their body temperature is regulated by their surroundings, and not heated internally like warmblooded creatures like mammals. This again means that they are sluggish and slow when cold and quick and speedy when warm.) would find frostfire especially dangerous and deadly. These are speedpaints, and therefore all a bit rough. All done in just a few hours. My work commitments have increased significantly lately, so I do not have that much time to paint. I might revisit them with washes, lining and detailing at a later date, but for now they are acceptable for the table top. They are all painted from a black undercoat. I made a 32mm base adapter that fits 25mm bases, and used it on these to make the bases more in line with both the size of the models and the rest of my basing for the Bones models. Thulsa Doom: "You killed my snake. Thorgrim is beside himself with grief! He raised that snake from the time it was born". Conan: "You killed my mother!" from Conan the Barbarian (1984) #86 off the Nagendra subset Bones 4 Core set, 2019 Reaper Miniatures Sculpted by Chris Lewis Made in Bonesium PVC 32mm 3Dprinted base adapters on the 25mm integral bases, get yours from thingiverse here should be available from reapermini.com some time in the future in Bones. Currently available in metal.

It’s a Brain in a Jar! I have always wanted a brain in a jar. So I can have a safe place to keep the moonshine, you can be quite certain that nobody is going to mooch off it when it is in there together with that thing... This one comes from the Reaper Bones 3 kickstarter and I simply could not wait any longer to paint it. It is a giant brain, though. The legs stand at about 5cm in diameter. 77493: Brain In a Jar Reaper Miniatures, Bones 3 KS. Bonesium PVC sculpted by Chris Lewis

Painted mainly just by drybrushing. The sculpt screamed grizzly bear, so I tried to emulate those colors. I think this is my quickest figure yet, and one of my favorites. Any advice and critiques are appreciated!

Here's my exchange mini, sent to Jasper the 2nd. He seems to like it okay, so woot! Now I've got some experience for a few new things and hopefully the next exchange mini will be even better. This was my first attempt at doing anything with a base, so I had a lot of hits and misses. You can probably get a sense of how bad my mistakes were if the base on the proof-of-concept mini is one of the good ones! Here's the final result:

It looks like this and another post of mine (plus a third that I didn't finish posting) were all assigned the same post ID (or some similar identifying value) when I duplicated the new thread page last night. It looks as though everything got pretty mangled, and the only way I know of off the top of my head to fix this is to start a new post. That thread is here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/61555-77206-friar-stone-bones-ii-release/
