Early last year, I pledged on Kickstarter for the Circle of Chaos Warband by Curtis Fell of Ramshackle Games fame, but I did not add on for the Rhinotaur at that time. ...So when I received the original 7 minis of the Circle, I kicked myself for not adding it on. The minis were weird-in-a-good-way designs by several sculptors, and great quality casts, and were all painted late last year. When the shiny syndrome at last overpowered me, I contacted Mr Fell, and he graciously ordred a Rhinotaur cast up and sent to me. After prepping, I added one of my 3D printed oval bases, and it has been standing around on my desk ever since, trying to get my attention. Which it in the end, did. "Very few mutations survive conception. Fewer still survive birth. Some are so twisted and hideous, the host's birthing screams must be silenced to maintain a shred of sanity. This begins the tale of one such horror, unleashed upon a blighted world. A beast of war and ruin so terrible a strong man's guts turn to water at the sight of it. A pair of ancient cleaving swords it yields, whirling and feinting despite its armored bulk. It's mighty horns used to batter and break and pierce, are sharp enough to penetrate a dragon's hide. But despite all of this, despite the horrible carnage, the hacking, the trampling, the impaling, the worst of it is its battle cry. Pig snorting and squealing in battle, reaching its fervor. And suddenly, blood covered and splattered with gore, it opens its jagged mouth and emits the piercing yet pure and joyful squeals of a baby." -from the KS update introducing the Rhinotaur addon. The completed warband in all it's glory. Curtis Fell / Ramshackle Games is officially on my "Kickstarter good performers" list Good communication, great product, timely fulfilment. A+ would back again. The Rhinotaur aka Grey Death Circle of Chaos Oldhammer Warband KS by Cutris Fell Sculpted by Jason Wiebe Metal. Heavy Metal 75x45mm 3D printed oval lipped base.

For Minivember I will try to do a different model each day (duplicates or similar models (from the same unit or suchlike still only count as one!). If you want to see the rest of my minivember minis, feel free to have a look at my painting blog..I won't be posting each and every one here, just the Reaper minis and maybe some that I find especially interesting. Yes, they will be speedpaints, just like all my minis. The Circle of Chaos is an oldhammer-style warband of 7 models very much in the Realm of Chaos vein. Mutants and misfits all. The models in the warband were contributed by different sculptors and kickstarted by Curtis Fell of Ramshackle games fame. At last I have finished the last one to do, completing the warband. (apart from the add on Rhinotaur that I regrettably did not pledge for. Shoulda done dat. and the completed circle warband: That leaves my Minivember tally at 30 unique minis, out of the 40 minis in total painted this month. Minivember Challenge Goal met. Hoody Hoo! Yes, they will be speedpaints, just like all my minis. Seeing as I am starting out a week late, I have some catching up to do... Continuing on with the Circle of Chaos warband off kickstarter: Chirrik seems to be some sort of mutated Skaven or rat-beastman. This mini is truly chaotic and ...busy, and was most difficult to read, as it were. With its miniature arms, the eyestalks, tailweapon and flapping cloak-things all over the place. The busy-ness quieted a bit down as I painted it, each bit gaining definition and appearing before my eyes. (And that odd strip of fur turned out to be a pocket-watch!) Friki and Diki The Night Goblin netters and clubbers are a staple of 3rd ed warhammer, and here reimagined for Realm of Chaos oldhammer too. Friki with the net and Diki with the club. This pair counts as one for Minivember. Chirrik and the Friki Diki pair are Minivember numbers 18 and 19, and lo I am up to date.
