  1. Recently I moved from an apartment in a house, complete with a small yard, to an apartment building with a parking lot. Since I like to use Krylon spray primer I knew losing that yard would be a problem. So I thought about it and think I've come up with a solution. I took a copy paper box and lined it with a plastic tarp. The basic idea is to secure the miniatures at the back of the box and spray them one side at a time. That way the spray can would be inside the box while spraying with the liner stopping any paint bleeding through and keeping the mist contained inside the box.
  2. I saw this posted on another forum and thought folks here might find this useful. This free generator creates a simple map of a city, in either small, medium, or large size. It also labels each sector as to what type of buildings are there (when you scroll your mouse over each sector) While it doesn't have options to customize, it would be great for folks just needing a quick city design to work with. https://watabou.itch.io/medieval-fantasy-city-generator
  3. This looks very interesting although it's way above my hobby budget.
  4. Hi all, So... I have a short attention span. This is evidenced by me deciding to take up yet another side project- this time in anticipation of finally receiving my starter rulebook for CAV:SO from reaper this week. Reaper's CAV line is the only line of minis that are not fantasy (or 40k), and the only line of minis that I have that are not in the 25-28mm range. As such, I don't have much good terrain for them yet. I have been a fan of paper terrain for awhile, ever since discovering world works games and Dave Graffam's stuff. Upon starting to look around I also found a surp
  5. I just found a nice secondhand photography book which reminded me that if you are looking for visual references for city streets & alleys, the photography of Bob Thall is extraordinary. It's mostly black-and-white, but he examines details of the urban environment that most other photographers gloss over.
  6. I've been talking with one of my fellow gamers about starting a X-com like game, think necromunda or mordheim. Soldiers versus aliens, battling it out in city streets, docks, woods, ufo crashes UFO's.... Ect I'm looking for terrain. Terrain that you can hide in, climb around that is quick to assemble... I am a fan of hirst arts, and I think I will look at his molds for UFO adventures. But his stuff is slow to assemble and make and paint. Are there any suggestions for inexpensive, terrain that's modular, quick, sturdy, versatile
  7. I have for so long wanted a gaming mat or map that displayed a pretty large town with many small homes (4x4) to create a very busy small town with many little paths between all the many buildings and just really busy looking in a small amount of space. I bought many GF9 mats and they are awesome but never gave me what i wanted. I even bought a few paizo mats which let me know the scale i wanted could be done but never had the setup i wanted. Paizo had a city scene but it was not open roof tops unless you bought a card expansion to place the cards over the home structure. I wanted open roof
