With spending more time at home, I have been able to start painting a bit more. I have chosen to focus primarily on the figures that will have applications across multiple scenarios that might come up at the gaming table. I decided I would try to knock out some of these types of figures that I wouldn't normally choose to paint with the limited amount of time I normally have...outside of a global pandemic. These types of figs are good practice, and frankly, it will be great to have these figs ready to add to the table for atmosphere, if nothing else. Imagine that there is an encounter in a city
Mat and Pat of the City Guard. Or whatever Reaper calls these minis. So far the only names I have for them is Bones 4 Core set #14 and #15. STOP PRESS: Upon actually checking the internets, it seems that they are already available cast in metal, and called "City Guard (2)". A no brainer, really. They are quite obviously just that. I think I should have done the edging on the lower parts of the tabards differently, the blacklining did not turn out well at all. Looks better unmagnified IRL though. 'Alt raht there Guv'ner. Had this guys for a while and kind of spaced on him but decided to paint him up this week as he's an important NPC in my RPG game that may only have a few months left. Nothing super fancy here as he's a 5-6 hour paint job (gotten really good at those this year as it's about all I've done) with some washes for the armor and face (though I water down the wash on the face and used it as a glaze). The cloak is not freehand (I'm not Darkstar, Coporia or Cassu here) but via a stencil. Base was done in 10 with Pigments. (click for much larger) Thanks for the look.
