  1. Hello everyone, here are some pictures of a 02126, Arachno-Assassin sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. I had this damaged mini for a long time and I decided to replace its upper left hand falchion for a sword from the 02455, Weapons pack IV. It was a very fun and easy model to paint. I intend to use it as a "boss" in a major encounter, so I painted it in red to increase the focus on it and point out how dangerous it is. The bluish bladed sword will be magical, maybe even cursed.
  2. Hello everyone, here's what I painted last week, a Skeleton Horde by Games Workshop / Citadel Miniatures from 1986. I mounted them on 25mm base and converted a few of them. I used remaining parts from other minis and changed some shields, skulls and weapons. I also printed two army trays to be able to move them more easily and change their arrangement on the game table. There's 16 skeletons in total and I intend to use them during future D&D games. More pictures under the spoiler (64 pictures).
  3. Hello everyone, I completed this one last night. 02615, Female Bloodguard was sculpted by Dennis Mize. I removed the axe she was holding in her left hand and replaced it with a shield from a 14359 Crimson Knight.
  4. Hello everyone, here are pictures of the last Dark Dwarf I painted for my Duergar squad. I converted a 44109, Enlarged Dark Dwarf Smiter sculpted by Bobby Jackson to make it look more like a Striker. I changed the original hammer head for a 3D printed two sided meat tenderizer and added the eye patch. Thanks to Derek feedback, I really pushed myself on this one. I think I spent something like 3 or 4 hours on the beard only. It is standing on a 2 inches square base. The ball and chain are made of Milliput and a 3mm hobby chain. Your comments are welcome. Group pictures coming soon.
  5. Hello everyone, here are pictures of my latest work. It was a very fun piece to paint. The T-Rex fossil on its back and the different types of stones that form this extraplanar creature are amazing. I painted the crystals as amethysts, well suited for an earth protector. This purple stone is said to be incredibly protective, healing, and purifying. It's claimed it can help rid the mind of negative thoughts and bring forth humility, sincerity, and spiritual wisdom. This Bones model 77185, Large Earth elemental was sculpted by Kevin Williams. I changed the position of his right arm a
  6. Got around to painting a blackstar corsair I modified last year. I figured a pirate always could use some more guns on their suit
  7. Urban Adventurer in 2020 Cell phone, TP roll, and 2 bottles of hand sanitizer. way more useful than his original equipment mask, gloves and goggles still useful though. EDIT :some kind of sizing issue .. will try to correct
  8. So, just what happens when you take the desire to paint some sort of armoured vehicle or tank, and a rather fondness for gnolls? Well, you say screw it, let's see what would happen if gnolls STOLE A TANK! (and a LAV). This definitely isn't going to be NATO greens, or even remotely close to JGSDF colours. Green may be involved at some point, but not any actual real world colouration patterns... Naturally, ignore the obvious answer of "why not?!?!" what kinds of things give a fox inspiration for this project? Ghost In The Shell (the original video/movie) Ak
  9. Back when the Bones 4 Kickstarter was running, when the Giant Rhinoceros Beetle was revealed in the Fan Favorites set, someone posted this photo of a Frog riding a Beetle to the Enthusiasm Thread, and I knew it was a conversion I would eventually want to try. I have an extensive Frog Army, and I wanted such a figure to be a Leader or Hero for my forces. I had the pieces I needed at hand; the Bones Black "Giant Rhinoceros Beetle", and my rider - for which i had decided to use the Bones "Mudcroak" Squog figure. As I looked at Mudcroak, I knew I
  10. Good day everyone, here are pictures of 77105, Kagunk "Voorhees" the Ogre Chieftain sculpted by Tre Manor. This is the Bones version of the model. I added the axe blade on its spiked club, mounted it on a 2 inches square base and painted it with Reaper MSP paint.
  11. Another day another devil. Several months ago I was searching for a suitable mini for a chain devil. I was in need of a few of them to represent hellish prison guards. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of options that I liked. Most of the official pre-painted chain devils look like awkward Michelin Men. So I went looking for a suitable substitute. I settled on the Pelegarth Brutes from CMON's Wrath of Kings. A few modifications later and... Three frightening and unrelenting guards of hell. More Photos Below the Spoiler:
  12. Hello everyone, here are pictures of a special NPC I painted last night. Originally an Aquatic Elf, I converted her to make her a Drow abjurator accompanied by her black fox. I slightly converted 03631, Quoralei from the original model sculpted by Derek Schubert for the Dark Heaven Legends line. I replaced the sea shell she was holding by a spellbook and added a wand in her left hand. The 60048, Fox familiar was sculpted by Julie Guthrie, it's originally the familiar of Feiya the Iconic Witch from the Pathfinder line.
  13. Modified his helmet and gave him a shield Before the conversion:
  14. Finally I finished my conversion of Nienna Elfen Ranger. I pretty much changed every aspect of the original mini. New things attempted: Cloth textures and freckles. C&C very welcome. Areas to improve: Blends (smoother is always better), finer texture patterns, sculpt could be a little cleaner in some places.
  15. Hi folks. I've got plenty of minis painted from the last two years to slowly share with you all. Here we have the D&D Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures Human Druid 73390. I was in need of a Firbolg Monk for my party, and Nolzur's had yet to release any of their firbolg models. Since the character would be traversing a frigid wasteland, I also wanted to find a character who was properly clothed - no sleeveless/shirtless monks for me. I settled on this character because he was properly rangery and most importantly - bearded. I chopped off his sword and the antlers on his back, g
  16. Ok, this is a mini that I made as a joke for a friend of mine. He GMs a lot of games, and has always been a bit fascinated by the fact that the Half Dragon template can be added to almost any kind of creature. Including ones that reproduce by dividing. Truly, the biology of dragons is a wonder. Anyway, he got to completely wreck the party with this Half Black Dragon Gelatinous Cube. I made it by combining some parts from an invisible dragon and gelatinous cube minis (both from Reaper’s Bones line). I used water effect for gap filling and a bit of sculpting, and added a little co
  17. Galladon, Male Wizard This guy as it turns out can be disassemble into pieces! Win for me, because I hate detailed undercuts. And I do not like the staff (fish/dragon)head. Does not fit the character imo. The red squiggly turned out verynice! FINISHED here!
  18. My next project is another ranger. I already have a cool male elf ranger, but thought it might be nice to add a female version. So going through the Bones minis I came across Nienna. Unfortunately her face detail was very shallow and detail was overall a bit hit and miss. I love the pose, though. Out comes the scalpel, greenstuff and bitz box. Two evening sessions later I swapped the head and weapon, shaved away some of the front detail and resculpted the area. I am not entirely finished yet, but soon I can establish the base colours.
  19. Ok lets talk about this mini. I got it two years ago in the Legend of Drizzt boxed game and just never use it. Why? Because it just looks weird for a dwarf and it is overall lacking if that makes sense. But I believe it has potential to look pretty cool and become one of my favourite minis. This isn't the first time that I dislike and convert a Wizkids "hero" mini but this conversion will be the most drastic so far. So lets begin. First of all, the thing that bugs me the most are Athrogates flails. I've found some artwork online and here's how they could look lik
  20. Several weeks ago I got to go to the hobby store and found a couple of new minis, one was this little jewel. It is pretty much done in the painting department, but what good is a catapult without its crew? These are some Oathmark dwarves that I’m converting to do the job. I admit the barrel is too big to fit in the catapult, but I’m going to find a way to work it in. I need to build a base big enough to hold everything and get some more dwarves, it is a start though. Ideas are welcome! Thanks for looking!
  21. I built a dispensor robot out of a reaper soda machine, a brain in a jar, a pair of goggles, a battery pack, and a pair of rat cyborg arms. It'll get used for this is not a test eventually.
  22. Hi everyone, here are pictures of my latest Gnoll, a converted Toghra the Gnoll Leader. The upper part is from 77235, Toghra the Gnoll Leader sculpted by Jason Wiebe. The lower part of the mini is 77236, Bloodmane Gnoll Warrior sculpted by Tre Manor. The spear head is the blade of 02757, Gastaroth the Vampire sculpted by Werner Klocke and the staff is from 14056 Weapon Pack 1 sculpted by Tim Kaufman. Here's the link to the conversion WIP if you'd like more information.
  23. My second project for Fealron marked off a few firsts: First magnetization, first mounted cavalry, first Pugh sculpt. Here you can see the 2mm magnets inserted strategically. This is how he sits mounted. But, I wanted to keep it removable, thus the magnets. I confirmed it would stay in place upside-down! A sharpened paper clip acting as the scaffold for the horn. I also sharpened the lance tip. It comes cylindrical out of the blister. Green putty to make the horn and cover/reinforce the magnets.
  24. I finished another mini this week and hope you like him: Elladan Elven Ranger. His weapons were a bit bendy, so I replaced them. I also repositioned his arm. I like how the cloak turned out, the face could be smoother, but his cheek bones seemed to be quite pronounced, so I went for more contrast and impact from a gaming distance. I also got around taking a scenic shot. I still think my Smartphone can't replace a proper camera, but for now it must suffice.
