The "IT" that came from darkest Ohio in this instance is one of several cool thingies I received in a surprise package from a L.A.Forumite. IT was in retaliation for a package of Mushrooms I sent off awhile ago. This Floating Tentacled Whatever was made & cast by ZeroTwentthree & seen here with an old Citadel Leprechaun: ...the ruff below the orb reminded me of a clown's neck ruff...Circus Music started playing through my mind. AND two eyes appeared almost of their own volition: ...followed by a face: ...now IT's ready for some paint; & the Leprechaun has distanced himself from the whole affair. I could used this as another example of how easy it is to get carried away with just the hint of an idea, but I'd prefer to just say the Devil made me do it...sounds plausible.

This is an old mage knight figure; it's an 'Amazon Mancatcher'. I've got a couple more copies of this one that will all be converted eventually. She's armed with an absolutely ridiculous weapon; I cut that off and re-armed her with a trident from the bits box; I figured that with the net in her other hand, she'd make an interesting gladiator. The base is supposed to be sand, does it look alright? Table top paint job; let me know what you think, please.

So I finally got around to painting my first bones mini! Decided I'd get this guy and paint him up like a battered old warforged, as I just love those tin cans. Can't say the material was much different than metal to paint after I primed him, just the weird sensation of him weighing nothing in my hand. His paint turned out a bit bluer than I'd envisioned, I wanted a hint more green in there for a more turquoise look, but I'm happy with how it turned out. Also my first time trying some OSL, I think I could have gone brighter on the shade, and slightly thinner in places (I was using around a 10:1 mix). I also thought his left arm looked a little barren, so he I gave him an integrated forearm crossbow that I scavenged from a friends bits box. I haven't done anything with the base as I intend to cut him off of it and replace it with a 25mm one, but I have something special in mind for it, and I'm now waiting on a piece for a couple of weeks. So he's done for now and I'm reasonably happy with him.
