So, a little while ago I had these two lovely packages come in because I wanted to give the new "rules condensed" version of Infinity a go, and sadly neither the HaqqIslam I use or the Ariadna hubby uses for N3 are in Code One, so.... Well, as one might expect, we wound up picking up a new starter box, because of various reasons. Anyways, Yu Jing was always my second choice for an army, and Rune liked the new look for the PanOceania figures, so that made life moderately easier.... Keen eyed observers will notice that Rune's PanO aren't getting as many units. Well, yeah, there's a partial reason for that - I had a basic idea already of what I wanted with my Yu Jing for N3, specifically that of being able to field the Invincible Army sectorial at some point due to my LOVE of their heavy infantry, and since pretty much all of the models I was looking at are usable in Code One that pretty much sealed the deal for me right then and there... Obviously more will be added in for Rune's side as he plays the game more, and figures out what kind of units he would like (and likes the look of). ^So a few days ago this is where things were at, after the use of a pair of GreenStuffWorld rollers, specifically Runes (for, uh, Rune's PanO), and Small Cobblestones (for my Yu Jing), and after several hours of assembly over three nights if I remember correctly, here's where things were... ^And phase one of basing complete. Vallejo terrain goop, I love you. Okay, I'll admit, I wound up covering up more details than I had originally planned, but such is life - some of the original elements are still there, which is good enough in my opinion, at least for now. I'll still get the basic idea across, although with some of them it's more going to be easter eggs in the bases, but such is life. ^And a blurry shot of how things look at the moment, with phase 2 of the basing. Essentially, I wound up using that mix of four different types of ballast that I'd created a decade and a half ago (I mixed up a LOT of it o_O) to help even out the transitions, as well as any garish spots where the terrain paste didn't quite solidify how I was thinking it was going to... And also as a bit of an element to tie both factions together, since they're both technically fighting over Svarlheim, or however it's spelt Yeah, I know it's yet another WIP thread for me, but my Infinity focus shifted from N3 to Code One for the moment due to smaller table size, and newer, more streamlined rules. That and a desire to give these minis a shot, and to hopefully see about painting them faster than my usual pace

I was thinking of some kind of playful title for the force, like "The Foxes That Yip At Night" or something more mysterious like "Crescent Moon Foxes" but in all honesty, I haven't really figured out a name for this force. This is a continuation of a previous thread where I set a goal to finish 20 minis in twenty weeks, but only wound up doing one. Eh, world doesn't end, goal with that was to paint, and I did. This thread is a breakoff out of that one, because I want to have my HaqqIslam force to have it's own thread, and can also give them a tad more room on my painting desk thanks to recent changes I've done (I have another three whole feet of desk I can work with that's focused on being a "build-up" area, which I've already found has had me tidying things up a tad more AND given me the ability to have room to sit down and do ANY kind of hobbying for even just 15-20 minutes, be it assembly, cleanup, (hopefully) sculpting, and/or painting. To those wondering, in a standard 300/6 game, there's no way to field all of the units pictured here. A small part of why I've picked up what I have is due to sales, a desire for a few minis before they fall out of circulation (since some when purchased had been discontinued five years prior), and a desire to be able to readily try out either mixed tactics with a vanilla HaqqIslam army, or to be able to try out one of the three main sectorials (Hassassin Bahram, Qapu Khalqi, or Ramah Taskforce). At some point the Hassassin starter pack will be added in, as well as probably another boxed set or two (I'm looking at you, Zhayedans, Khawarijs', and Muttawi'ah's... Oh, and blisters like the Hunzakut, Ayyar, Ragiks, and the Odalisque with Spitfire rescuplt to name a few) but a lot of that is mainly due to a desire for "completion" or just to have a nice looking force to choose from. Or something - I am an indecisive fox after all ^So here's where things stand at the moment. First pic has most of the Red Veil and Beyond Red Veil boxed sets in it, while the second is a combination of Azra'il (the two big guys on 40mm bases) and the Qapu Khalqi starter force. The reason why the ones that haven't been painted yet have milky looking bases is these pics were taken shortly after sealing those bases with watered town Tacky Glue. Apologies for the out of focus photos, I wanted group shots, and was tired when I took them, and phone kept fighting me about what to focus on. ^Still to assemble we have these pieces. I'm really looking forward to building up that Maghariba Guard (aka murder scorpion! ...Or Maggie, as many local players call it), but those Bashi Bazouks (in the blisters at the bottom) I'm also rather curious about.

The Al Fasid, also known as "The Corrupted", are HaqqIslam's heavy troopers that will get the job done no matter the cost. Their methods aren't always the prettiest, and they're never the stealthiest, and they have their own tricks they bring with them to the table. They don't care about glory, and are solely chosen for their solid record of getting the job done. Some enjoy it, some are in it for the solid paycheque, and others do it because the only thing theyy know what to do is fight. Today I have the HMG version, who also conveniently carries a grenade launcher that can shoot either regular grenades to keep enemy heads down, or smoke grenades to provide additional cover. Oh, they also pack anti-personnel mines with them too... Since the "tactical rock" under his right foot kind of looked rather strikingly like the backpack for a Yu Jing (even though I'm not having any luck finding models to confirm this), I decided to try and test out my planned colour scheme for them. That's right, I'll be going with a dark raver / cyberpunk burnt neon pink for their general colour, because why not - I'm going with hot orange for my Haqq...

Hubby doesn't like painting the smaller figures, which is fine by me, but we both would like his force for Infinity to be painted, aaaand I just so happen to want to paint the Ratnik. That's right, I spent $100 CAD on a boxed set where half the minis will be staying on a shelf for a while, and the other half are there to accompany the one mini I really wanted to paint. Okay, there's also the fact there's an Ariadna starter in there, but still :P So first and foremost, we have the minis from Coldfront + Beyond Coldfront assemble and based, which some would say is always a good start. I'm not going to argue with them Mission Models primer! I think it was something like 16 parts Grey Primer to 4 parts Black Primer, with four or five drops of thinner - I was aiming for slightly darker than grey, but not too too dark. Just enough to give some basic details. Bleached Linen drybrushed on to help bring out the details, then I think it was Citadel's Drakenhof Nightshade, uh, shade... Then Void Blue for the obviously blue bits. Then the Ratnik got a mix of Void Blue and Dragon Black on some of the armour panels and weaponry, followed by a healthy dose of Secret Weapon's Hard Body Black Wash. Okay, looks like this fox overdid it a bit, as some things show rather black, but I'll live. It at least gives me a basic idea of where I am, and where I'm going, which is arguably the most important to me Here's a closer look at the Scout (on the left) and Veteran Kazak. They've received a bit of that Void Blue / Dragon Black mix in crevices if I remember correctly.... Oh yeah, there's also a bit more in the queue for him too... ^USAriadna starter box (for now he's said he'll paint the antipodes (werewolves), but if he asks me to paint them, I'll paint them ^Support pack (112 Medic... ON A BIKE!), Line Kazaks (additional weaponry for the "basic" troopers), Scout with AP Sniper, Blackjacks with Sniper (big shooty thing!), and a Hardcase Frontiersmen with a Tactical Bow. Initial focus is going to be on the Coldfront minis, and getting things sorted out so we both have a starter set of miniatures we can game with

Being that this is the figure that was the biggest reason why I picked up the Hassassin Bahram Sectorial Starter Pack (say that three times fast ), I was suspecting he'd wind up on my painting desk sooner or later... I just didn't realize he'd have the honour of being the first finished this year, as well as my first finished Infinity miniature! At some point in the near future I'll acquire some S2 holoprojector tokens for him, as actual 3D representations are nice. Not sure where from, but I like my current Art of War Studios things, so probably theirs. Oh, and for those who might be curious, that's a Global Evil Corp UniPod with two StairPods (well, one pack) in the first three pics, fourth one is a DuoPod with a StairPod alongside it. Sadly no magnets yet for the terrain, but they're on the way, and will get here at some point

Every now and then I've seen people start up a WIP thread that's more or less along the lines of "clean the shelf of (blank)". For me, it's of hopes and dreams, of projects started, but not quite realized, finished, or... Even painted. This isn't necessarily going to be one of those more serious minivember, one mini a day, or even a burn towards the finish line to actually "complete" the one a week RPChallenge, uh, challenge. That and while I'd love to do minivember or even 99 minis in 99 days both of those seem a tad too... Intense for me. Especially with how often I get distracted from such with playing computer games, longer days at work, or even starting to have a social life! (Yeah, some of the Infinity gamers in town are starting to slowly coax me into coming out to play and do things, it's kind of nice!) To meet my own goal this year of beating 2018's count, I'd need another "14 points". Coincidentally, that's fairly close to the mark of 18 for October through December, so I figure why not! ...I guess I am going for the RPChallenge bit after all, but I'm going to give a whirl at a full twenty, because I like that number more than 14 or 18! In short, my goal is to try and clear some of the assembled and primed backlog I have, and focus on mainly getting those painted up and FINISHED. Naturally I'm not going to lock out the prospect of adding in a few more minis to the table (I am more than likely going to be building up a tournament HaqqIslam force for February 2020, which will require more units to be acquired, assembled, and painted), but as for some of the things that come to mind for being taken care of... Getting Wyrmgear's mods sculpted - I really would like to see him at least standing up at the end of the year Additional work on my Rainbow Dragon Challenge Ebonwrath - he's taking up a decent amount of space on my desk, plus, hey, DRAGON! Infinity Red Veil, and Beyond Red Veil boxed set - at least the HaqqIslam portion, anyways, although I'd like to at least get the Yu Jing assembled and based too Various CAVs in various states Other, smaller dragons! (Pathfinder Red Dragon, Temple Dragon, and I think I have a Narthrax hiding around somewhere too) minotaurs, gnolls, and some Skaven character/heroes A few minis that have become "paint catchers" for when I mix up too much There's probably more, but still. I'm not going to keep a full on tally of things, but either way, I'm hoping to work on, and finish, at least 14 "points" worth of minis, but 18 "points" would be awesome... Or even more. Apparently, as of this post, there are ten weeks and four days until the end of 2019. What am I mostly aiming for by doing this thread? Well, by having a WIP I'm regularly updating, I'm hoping to not only get more work done close to every day on miniatures (even if it's just twenty minutes), but also get back into the habit of sitting down and hobbying every day. I really do like how relaxed I am when doing it, and it helps me cool and calm down too. That and, oh yeah, I already mentioned the habit thing. Anyways, I did mention something else in the beginning of all of this about something silly, well... Let's put it this way.... ^I was okay with some of them trying to teach others how to "roll over" and "play dead", even if it meant my Switch is a little harder to get to.... I was even okay with some of them guarding one of my spare graphics cards, and the Mission Models iridescent and pearl paints... ^Yup, even didn't really mind them taking over a shelf in my cube shelf (there are more minis hiding in the ice cream pail, they're in there due to having been washed) - Actually, this helped kickstart me being able to paint again, since ALL of those were on my desk before tidying up... But once you try and hold my benching rig hostage.... Or you try to do dark rituals around my turntables... Oh no, this needs to be stopped. if I let them continuing running amok, they'll try and take over the entire living room! (there were additional pics, but it kind of felt like things were dragging on). ^So... Here's how my desk looked last time I tidied it up. It looks a little different, and somewhat messier now, but that's because I have a few projects on the go that I was working on before this post. Not all of the minis in that picture are mine (the Pathfinder Red Dragon belongs to hubby, for example) but still. There's a decent amount of stuff on the table, to say the least. ^So here's where I left off two days ago - I apparently didn't take a picture of yesterday's table, but there were two more Haqq minis done, and I suspect that's also simply because we played Division 2 for like two hours yesterday, then I worked on minis, then I went to bed rather tired... ^And how things are looking so far today. All seven minis from the Operation: Red Veil started set are now assembled (although they'll be an eighth one added in eventually due to having been sent a double by accident - Corvus was quick and prompt when replying on their mispack line... Err, email), and bases for the three miniatures from Beyond Operation: Red Veil are drying, so they'll be assembled tomorrow. The reason why the seventh guy doesn't have anything extra on his base yet is quite simply because I'd assembled him tonight. I'm not quite sure what kind of colours I'll be going with on my Haqq, but I strongly suspect they won't really be all that traditional, or at least studio paint jobs. Totally lost on what colours I'll be going with for the Oathsworn Minotaur as well, but I'll worry about that when I get to that front - today's focus was assembly and basing.

SKU: CVB280183 First time attempting to paint glass and I think it came out . . . okish. Not great, but not bad for a first effort. Need to work on the blending, but have gotten some tips to help with that. As always C&C are most welcomed as I am always looking for ways to improve on my skills since currently about the best I can hope for is table top quality (and I even occasionally succeed ;P) Thanks for looking! Hello all! After getting the Icestorm set all squared away I did end up filling out my roster to a full ITS capable army for Infinity, and now I need to paint them to completion so I can play! I'm starting with the Nomads first, mainly since one of the models I'm using to fill out the army is an infinity figure I've owned since before the current edition. So here's the gang all together, and from left to right we have: Tomcat Engineer, Zondcat, Tomcat with DEP, Warcor, Reverend Custodier, Lunokhod Sputnik Remote, 2 CrazyKoalas, and a Bandit Hacker. And speaking of the first Infinity figure, that would be the reverend Custodier. Her priming job is the worst I've ever done, and I cleaned it up, so how see how painting her goes, but she's all base coated and first in line.

Hello everyone, here's a project that I've been working on for over a year! I actually got Operation Icestorm, way back when it was released, and now it's done, including the CSU, which I had to hunt down since there was a preorder error that resulted in my order not being treated like a preorder by a distributor. Long story short, I didn't work on it for a while, then took my time getting it done! A special thank you by the way to SGHawkins, who helped me track the CSU mini down. I decided to go very naval military on the Pan-Oceania team, dark blue with a few key accents to match the original designs. For Nomads, seeing as they're just basically Australia 2.0 in space with hackers and punk rock, I went with bright orange, purple, white and fun hair. They've also got gloss on the guns, since I was trying to mimic the original IPod for their weapons, and it will help the two teams stand out since this is a starter box so I could teach the game as well. The Whole Box Nomads Pan-o Fusiliers Auguacles ORC Trooper and Mobile Brigada Akalis and Spektr Nisse and Grenzer Reverend Healer and Father Knight CSU Feel free to ask questions!

In anticipation of the new rules edition coming out, as well as the rpg next year, let's get an Infinity thread going. This thread will be for gameplay/news/chatter on that kind of topic. For painting/conversion/etc kind of discussion, please head over to the Infinity WIP thread in the appropriate subforum (and remember to post finished work in individual Show Off threads). To continue the discussion on the Operation Icestorm starter box... I dig the story and look of the Nomads, but looking over the box set rosters it seems to favor PanO to my newb eye. Things like the Orc getting 1 more BS than the Mobile Brigada, which in turn gets an extra WIP. Since I'm a newb to the rules, I'm not sure how that balances or where they've put in the balances across the rosters. But it seems that for the scope of the box missions it favors PanO in several places. Thoughts? I'm hoping my gaming buddy digs the rules/aesthetic as he used to run Eldar in WH40k in the 90s. We'll probably run the starter missions to get used to the rules with some proxies until I can get painting the forces up (which will surely be another test of balancing speed against my seeming inability to paint to tabletop!).

Here's the first guy I've painted from the Operation: Icestorm box for Corvus Belli's Infinity skirmish game. He's just a grunt I was working out some color schemes and another attempt to speed things up with tabletop painting. Had a tough time pinning him to the base (a plastic piece from Sedition Wars), required some touch-ups which is why there is a horrid dot of red that needs fixing on his back calf :p

Hiho, while I am waiting for my hoard of Bones miniatures some other projects have to be finished to make room for hundreds of little Fantasy guys. I am working quite sometime on a Field of Glory army. The idea is to depict Hannibal Barkas army in Spain, before he went on to cross the alps and fight in Italy. This means there will be a lot of spanish mercenaries as well as a good number of war elephants. The miniatures are either Corvus Belli or Xyston and I am very pleased how they turned out for 15mm gaming miniatures. I also tried for the first time a proper photo set up with background and matching terrain. I did not photoshop much of the pictures, only added some more blue in the one picture on th left (the background was not big enough, and the wall paper is beige...). The trees are hand made and shall depict pine trees. I understand you guys are more a Fantasy bunch, but maybe someone is also doing historical wargaming. I am looking foward to some conctructive criticism and general remarks. On a warm spring morning spanish mercenary Scutarii cross a small hilltop followed by Liby-Phoenician spearmen. while the Scutarri are accustomed to the rough terrain the spearmen have some problems in keeping up. The small force is sent out to subdue a nearby tribe of Iberians, as they do not recognise the supremacy of Carthage and their general Hannibal. Caetrati, so called because of the small shield, Caetra, they are carrying, support the infantry and the elephants. they will also cause havoc amongst the tribal warriors before they clash with the main force: The Elephants follow on the right flank. These beasts are not as big as Asian or African elephants, as the smaller African Forest Elephant was in use, nor can they carry a tower. These strong animals do not need a tower. The mahout will make them charge the enemy and cause chaos amongst him. The tribe never encountered such animals before and Hannibal is sure that they will have the desired psychological effect. Finally the spearmen and the tribal warriors meet. While the mercenary scutarii hold the right flank, the elephants storm the left flank of the tribal warriors. They are fierce fighters and would rather die than lose their freedom. It is not undheard of that facing defeat they rather commit suicide then bow to anyone. When the dust settles it is a glorious day for Carthage and victory is total. Soon all of Iberia will be under the rule of Carthage or shall we say under the control of Hannibal?

Here are some Infinity forces that I painted a little while ago, for a client. He chose the color scheme for the Nomads, but let me pick on the Combine characters (it is based loosely on the studio scheme). Anyway, here they are.
