Design by CastNPlay Printed on my Elegoo Mars Base is from MicroArtstudio. Part of my Lost World Project. WIP here: https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-glitterwolf-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/page/169/#comments **************** David Attenborough's Voice Over: Nature can be cruel and especially so in the Jungle and Swamps of the Lost World. Huge predators roam this place so a smaller creature needs to be smart to survive. Here we can see the Common Swamp Crocodile, the poor creature would stand no chance when a T-Rex or a Spinosaurus would spot it. So it adapted to it's environment. It's behaviour reminds me a bit of that of the Hermit Crab, in a similar fashion this little crocodile finds himself a piece of rotten wood, preferably a treetrunk and sticks it's head in it. Then it rolls around in the fertile soil so mushrooms, grass and flowers will grow on it's hide. This way it will be invisible to the larger predators. Unfortunately, as we can see here, that tactic proves futile against the Amazone Warrior who is in dire need of a new purse.

After some work WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/61706-xherman1964-tries-to-paint-a-crocodile/ My Beloved of Sobek. A nice friendly Crocodile who wants nothing more then to hug you. I tried to copy the natural colours from a Nile Crocodile. Hope it worked. Base is a Resin Scenic Jungle Base from Microarts Studios, a mini in itself. The mini is from Crocodile Games Wargods of Aegyptus range A real joy to paint these two. Enjoy. He will also try to compete in a beauty contest. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/58879-2015-annual-contest-non-reaper-entries/?p=1148361

Sobek was a complex crocodile god of the ancient Egyptians. He was god of fertility, wild sexytimes and strength, and also a protector against the ravages of the river Nile and its inhabitants. The khopesh was a kind of ancient Egyptian sword evolved from a battle axe. The one on this sculpt is a little thicker and more swordlike than most of the ones I've seen, which makes it sturdier on a miniatures scale. The figure is Reaper's 14381, Nefsokar Devourer of Ammat, sculpt by Bob Ridolfi. I didn't make a WIP thread. I was halfway done with him before I realized that he was supposed to be a stone statue with cracks and chips in the stone. Maybe another time I will paint a version of him like that, but in this case I overlooked the texture and painted him with fairly realistic crocodile and corroded bronze colors. And because I like to play around with photography and backgrounds:

This is Reaper's Dire Crocodile. I looked up pictures of Nile crocodiles and used those as a basis for his paint job. He has a lot of detail and was fun to paint. I just need to find/make an appropriate base for him.

Now, while looking through various miniature manufacturers for strange and interesting minis that caught my fancy, I ran across "Crocodile Games" which made a series of miniatures for their own Egyptian mythos themed game. Going though their line up I noticed one or two strange minis in their "Sebeki" line of heros. These croc dudes are also the same dudes that is in their logo, and thus their mascot. In which I ran across the "Crocogamer", a special edition mini. Being a bit of a pudgy nerd myself, I couldn't help but buy this guy and basically paint him up as a caricature of myself of sorts, a fun prod at my geekyness. Not to mention he looks like he just got back from a con, so I kind of wanted this as my consolation prize for not making Reaper Con. He didn't have an integrated base so this was one of the first bases I've made, mostly using Milliput and one of the Reaper bases I got from the Bones II kickstarter. And thankfully it doesn't look entirely out of place. I worked hard on him, and I'm proud, I even added a tiny bit of glue to the cup to make it liquidy. Anyway, I worked hard on him and am waiting for a non rainy day to give him a nice dull coat to protect that hard worked over paint. Tell me what you think, don't be shy, I know I've got a long way to go :D

This crocodile hopes to chomp some tasty, tasty PCs soon. I'm fairly satisfied with her for the time I put in. She's about 3 11/16" long and 1 1/16" wide. The tail and upper jaw are separate pieces and don't quite fit right, so I used some Apoxy to fill in gaps.
