  1. Welcome to Getting to Know You, December 2018 Edition. The rules as they currently stand: 1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question. 1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one... 2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted. 2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.) 3. Questions are going to be posted between 8:00 hours and 13:00 hours GMT (UK / Europe Time: some Zero Dark Thirty hour for US time zones) 4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me... (Or Talespinner, he started it.) 5. You do not have to answer every question to play... 6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI). 7. Weekend questions will usually take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday. December will begin ^ with such a question because the month begins on a Saturday.
  2. Greetings all! It is I, the Questgiver! Wait, no, the New Questioner! You are now on a quest to answer questions for a whole month! *mad cackling* Okay, onward to December's questions. We shall discuss random things. We shall discuss ourselves. We shall converse about holidays and food! We shall have fun and merriment and describe said fun and merriment with mirth (not ruling out some moodiness). For December 1st: What have you done that you are proud of lately? It can be a big thing. It can be a small thing. We know you are at least glad to have done something!
  3. I'm actually getting this up in the first week! To quote OneBoot: Huzzah! Please see page 1 here for rules and guidelines/questions. This is also the chatter thread here: The total painted will be on the page here Soon http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/58628-resolutionary-painting-challenge-chatterinfo-thread/ Also, please only create a single index post for your links. This means to modify your existing post when you get a new figure finished instead of posting a new one. I would also request that when tagging your show off, please use "RPChallenge" as one of them. This month's challenge is: 4 Bonus Challenge is: The technical deadline Is planned for January 1, Midnight, RST. (Reaper Standard Time). ...I think we all know the actual deadline is whenever I get around to it, and if pictures are delayed, get them up when possible.
  4. We have a player that always buys a pack mule. Every. Single. Time. I think he just does it so the Hubs gets the enjoyment of killing it. Now I have a mini for him to symbolically remove. Lol. Hope y'all like him! (stupid static grass always sticks no matter what I do. It'll fall off by tomorrow though.)
  5. Did this one for my brother's Christmas present as well. I used light blue, lots of clear blue to darken it, and then light blue again for the highlining. Let me know what you think!
  6. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BABY! Seriously. How adorable is he? Goodness gracious. Alright, squee over. The hubs picked gold, and that was a challenge, for sure! I decided to get crafty and do stripes on everything, yikes! Shoshie suggested purple for the shadows, and it made a huge difference! Let me know what y'all think!
  7. I finished a seal! He looks like a water puppy! He's supposed to be in a rug over some tiles, not sure that translated. Let me hear what you think!
  8. Finished these girls up for my brother's Christmas present. Last minute presents, go! Lol. I was going for a simple scheme on them, let me know what you think!
  9. So, after a lot of hemming and hawing, I decided to paint a bunch of my Christmas presents. My mom loves her some angels, so I decided to paint some up. I started this one at about 12, and just finished her. I think she turned out pretty well, and my mom is gonna go nuts. I have another one to paint that is I'm progress, so let me know what you think! C&c is always welcome and appreciated!
  10. Alright, I don't know who makes his guy, or where he's from. Use y'alls google-fu and see if y'all have better luck than me! He's super tiny! Familiar sized. (last pic is for scale) I'm not sure how I'm gonna end up basing him, since he may end up on a shoulder or something, so that's why he's just glued down. Let me know what y'all think!
  11. Alrighty, got a speed paint for y'all! I spent about 4 hours on this guy. I needed to get him done for a Christmas present, so he's definitely not perfect. I'm not terribly happy about the glue lines/not greenstuffing the joints, and the Lance. I do, however, think my blending on the cloak is some of the best I've done. C&c is always welcome, please let me know what you think!
  12. This is an old Ral Partha barbarian from 1984. Simple, tabletop paint job as usual; I did do her skin a slightly darker tone, though. I figured if she spends any appreciable amount of time outside in that outfit, she'd be a little darker. Please let me know what you think.
  13. Another old figure from Target games Chronopia line. This one is a demon of some sort, so I painted it up as a follower of Khorne (GW's god of war and battle). I free handed the shield device, and even managed to get the eyes looking fairly decent. I also tried to work a little more on shading and highlighting red with this figure. Maybe a little above tabletop? Let me know what you think, please. Blood for the Blood God!!!
  14. This is a figure from Target games' Chronopia line; if I remember correctly, he's an axeman leader. His chain mail coif covers his ears, and with all the spikes and that brutal looking axe, I figured he would make a worthy addition to my Warriors of Chaos horde. Please let me know what you think.
  15. This a Dungeons and Dragons prepainted miniature that I have repainted. I kept the colors close to what the figure originally came with from the factory, I just tried to neaten things up. I have no idea why she had purple hair, but I went with it. Maybe it's the whole 'dangerous/poisonous things are brightly colored in nature' thing? I used a lot of different things on the base; I wanted her to look like she was moving through an area of swamp/jungle. Tabletop paint job; I figure she'll look pretty good as the leader of a snake/lizard themed warband for song of Blades and Heroes. C&C is always welcome.
  16. This figure was sculpted for Grenadier in 1991 by Julie Guthrie. If I remember correctly, he's a thief, but I think he'd also work well as a pirate, although he's based in a rather non-nautical fashion. I tried something different when I did his skin, how do you think it looks? He's done to table top level; C&C is welcome.
  17. Thanks to another topic about Sophie, I was poking around on Miniature giant and found Harapan, the elephant warrior disaster relief mini. Who doesn't seem to be sold online anymore, at all. I really like elephants. Really, really, really like elephants. And I would be ever so very happy and pleased and grateful and joyous if you'd make this fine fellow available for the 12 days of reaper. That's the only way I can see me getting him, even if he was available on mini giant, I'm just not spending $40 on something that small. http://www.miniature-giant.com/harapan-elephant-warrior-tsunami-disaster-relief-discontinue-Reaper-Special-Edition-SE-sku-1411-c-410-p-2-pr-15.html
