  1. Found this place by accident. They have a lot of demons from the original Monster Manual. This is a Type 2. Pretty cool. I was tired and phoned in the lava. Next time...
  2. Here's another critter. It's 77259: Fly Demon by Kevin Williams. I wanted a metallic effect to the blue, which I got, but the end result isn't quite as successful as I would have liked. The miniature would benefit from having its wings replaced with much thinner acetate ones, but of course that would be a lot more fragile. It could also do with a bit more detail modelled into its limbs, to bring out the insectoid articulation a bit more. All in all, not one of my better efforts, but it will just have to do now.
  3. My Babau Demon, painted up to use as a minor demon in Frostgrave. It was a pretty quick paint job, what with it being only one colour and all. I think I achieved a bloody, meaty red look. Now I need a foolish wizard to summon him...
  4. Rauthuros sans tail.
  5. This week I found time to start the Bedeviled Set from the Bones I Kickstarter, and completed a nice tabletop paint job on Sinessa, Hellborn Sorceress. When I was looking at the figure and considering how I wanted to paint her, I thought she might work good as some kind of ice demon for my Frostgrave games, so I decided to paint her in a more wintery paint scheme. I also thought I would experiment with the techniques presented in MonkeySloth's Ice Base tutorial http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/43463-tutorial-creating-ice-bases/?p=605514 As always, C & C are welcome. I'm very pleased with how she turned out, and think she looks suitable frosty. :)
  6. I wanted to paint this one up since I saw it in the stretch goals of the Bones 2 Kickstarter:
  7. I wanted to do something a little different. Demons being a perversion of nature, so yeah, this guy ended up with purple fur...
  8. I see that I need another colour background. The red colour washed out the miniature a bit:
  9. Hello all! Finished the base for my take on Cichastus, so he is ready for display.... (WIP) He isn't glued down to the flying base post yet... the neckid base As always C&C welcome! George Edit Adding some new pics with a good camera and good lighting... Without the base Just the base Easier to see the colors now... George
  10. Another old figure from Target games Chronopia line. This one is a demon of some sort, so I painted it up as a follower of Khorne (GW's god of war and battle). I free handed the shield device, and even managed to get the eyes looking fairly decent. I also tried to work a little more on shading and highlighting red with this figure. Maybe a little above tabletop? Let me know what you think, please. Blood for the Blood God!!!
  11. I realized I never posted a finished thread for my Great Beast model from Fractured Dimensions. Front view. He's got monkey heads! He also has squiddly bits. Uh-oh. I think he's mad I got his bad side. One lizard tail was not enough. He must have two. He lives in a swamp! Like an ogre! Don't worry. Those aren't dead people. They're just sleeping. Half-buried or face-down in the water. Not breathing. Honest.
  12. Been playing with the Bones Agramon for awhile now in my WIP. Finally got him to a point where I'm happy enough with it. C&C Welcome. http://www.coolminiornot.com/390239 Edit to fix photos.
  13. Hi all, I am continuing my quest of getting everything painted for the board game Dungeon Saga. This time I completed the expansion called "The Return of Valendor". This expansion is a continuity of the base game and re-uses the same heroes and undead villains. It only adds up 2 new miniatures: - Ba'el: an undead demon awoken by the necromancer - Valendor: some kind of deity who initially defeated the afromentioned demon and who's spirit will give a hand to the adventuring party. The painting on these has nothing really special about it (and not really worthy of a show-off. But I'm still posting for completeness sake). The spear on Valendor was very badly warped, and no matter how much I boiled/straightened/cooled it, it always slowly warped back to something awkward. So that didn't motivate me to go out of my way for painting it. For Ba'el, i didn't really expect it to come out so gory and chalky looking. But i wasn't happy by how the first few attempts turned out (too dark, not enough contrast, etc...) so i kept adding somewhat randomly layers of paint i had on my desk. And that's how it turned out...
  14. Jaws

    GW, Daemonette

I was fairly happy with this one until I took photos. See that I have managed to clot the paint a little much. Don't want to fiddle with her anymore though. The little tree is made from a dried grape-wine. :/
  15. This is the Shaerileth figure. I wanted to do a black & white/greyscale figure, set off with a single accent colour. Well, in this case it was red blood! Kevin in Edmonton http://www.mageknightkevin.blogspot.ca Edit: Ah, as a new user, I've just discovered that you can't show a nude figure here. No problem. If you'd like to see other images of this figure (from the front, for example) you can just travel to my blog, linked in my signature. Thanks everyone!
  16. I tried to make the Vrock very dark, yet still have some color to him. He won't win any beauty contests, but being who he is, he was not a contender to start with.
  17. Hey all! Finished the Glabrezu, and thought I'd post pics for C&C! (WIP) Any and all feedback welcome! 8) George My 1st Gold star! I'd like to thank.... 8)
  18. Hi all, I recently finished my first commission of Vandorendra, Snake Demon & thought I'd show it off here. The pictures contain reptillian nudity so I have linked them to an external site. Vandorendra front Vandorendra left Vandorendra back Vandorendra right Thanks for looking!
  19. This is a work in progress because I have the whole diorama. But the statue itself is really cool dungeon décor.
  20. So, to go along with the creepy, creepy Worm that Walks that I'm putting the finishing touches on, I'm also painting up some demons for the Wrath of the Righteous Pathfinder adventure path that I'm currently GM-ing. I've actually got 4 to paint up, but one has some *ahem* naughty bits (Virina, Female Demon # 77067) so I'll not be showing it in this WIP. I may do an off-site link showoff of that one when it's done. Balor is (mostly) base coated. Pictures, as usual, reveal hard-to-notice flaws. Vrock has been bathed and boiling-water dipped and is currently drying. Babau is about 3/4 done I think.
  21. Just got around to finishing a bones 1 mini that had been incomplete for a year or so. I was trying to add magical nonsense to his coat.
  22. A while back, a buddy of mine asked me to paint up a Warhammer figure for him. This took me a while, but I'm finally finished just as he's coming back from deployment. This guy was a pain, but also taught me a lot. Based his coloration partially on the Bearded Vulture, a pretty cool bird. Gave me the idea of orange skin and blue-black feathers. Here's where the pain came from. The model is top-heavy as heck with those wings, bue he has a single point of contact with the base. To make matters worse, the foot is a separate piece from the leg. I had to drill, pin, glue, and greenstuff it so many times, the foot ended up an elephantine cancerous mass. Still, he's a demon of change and mutation, so it kind of fits. The base is micro-arts. Tomorrow, right before I seal the model, I'll clean up around the edges on it. Maybe give it a blue or yellow rim. This is probably my best attempt at white so far. Went from a bone-color up on the bottom and a light blue up on the top to reflect the ground and sky respecively. Mousling tax! While waiting for the basecoat on the base to dry, I went ahead and painted this guy. Took me about fifteen minutes, which makes him my fastest paintjob ever. He's not a great paintjob, but it was a lot of fun, and if I ever decide to clean him up further, I can.
  23. Finally finished this guy! He was stalled by a lack of paints that I needed, but they came in yesterday, and I got busy! Would have liked to do better with the feathers, but after the third re-try, I left well enough alone. My wife calls him a Skexie... WiP Here Pics: Some close ups: The SC75 metals were awesome for his pauldron, and other pieces, and did well for all his clothes... Base is pretty simple, a few Silflor tufts of 'dead' grass, some fine Gray Ballast, and some Fine Turf earth tone to go around the rocks, skulls, and bones... Comments welcome! 8) George
  24. My first miniboss for my wrath of the righteous campaign. Please keep making these Pathfinder minis Reaper!
  25. Hey all! Started work on the Vrock: After priming, I airbrushed all the scaled skin with Tamiya Neutral Grey, and part of the wings and leg feathers with GW Scab Red. Not much yet more tomorrow. As always, C&C Welcome! 8) George
